  • Why was the simpsons on here NOT a good influence or role model for children

  • @countrytom72 Back in the early seasons, The Simpsons was very smartly crafted and written. It actually had very good narrative and some of the episodes DID have some "moralistic" endings. Bart vs. Thanksgiving is one of these, as well as the one where Bart steals a video game. They're most likely there for the adults who watched with their kids, as are the celebrities. The kids are more interested in Grover than anything.

  • Thanks posting it

  • They should do a new version of this...have Zack Ryder be one of the folks involved.

"Wubba wubba wubba wubba WOO WOO WOO"...

  • Hey Wubba Man!

    Bart!

    LOL XD

  • Hey it's the Simpsons! Why you little!!! Famous Homer Simpson words

  • trying to work out all the stars in this song, Lou Dimond Philips, Whoopy Golgberg, Robin Williams, Ray Chiles, Jeff Goldblum I bet there are more I cant recognise :-) I loved this when i was a kid, TV at its total Best

  • Lesson learned: celebrities live in boxes and garbage cans.

  • i like ray charles but they should've made one video where they had muppet characters

  • is that urkle behind ldp?

  • Was Urkel in this?

  • Siskel and Ebert?

  • No matter how old I get, this always puts a smile to my face.

  • So who were those people with the bearded Robin Williams?

  • Ray charles bodied the whole song. For the win

  • You know, a lot of the younger generation wouldn't have even heard of some of these older celebrities if Sesame Street hadn't even introduced them to us :)

  • There haven't been this many celebrities together in a music video since We are the world.

  • Well I don't think robin Willams is appropriate for sesame street! He did coke with John belushi and we all know how that ended!

  • memories :)

  • For those surprised by the Simpsons' appearance. Keep in mind that this was still during the early days when the Simpsons was still incredibly tame compared to today.

Plus, if you consider things like Family Guy or the Cleveland Show, even today's Simpsons is still tame.

  • @nepomusik: Plus, Craig Bartlett (yes THAT Craig) was still animator & he's married to Lisa Groening (aka the inspiration for her Simpson chariature as the eldest Simpsons' daughter)!

  • @nepomusik eh im watching season one of the simpsons right now and bart says damn and hell at least 4 times an episode and only gets worse

  • This is still our favorite song from Sesame Street. Thanks so much for the upload and the trip down memory lane ^ ^.

  • 1:51 Did anyone else notice Kid 'N' Play in the background?!

  • JEFF GOLDBLUM

  • @pleadguilty2luv he was soooo young :D

  • Grover does Dubstep!

  • The Simpsons parts are the best.

  • @sailorgenisage yes it was even when homer yells bart!

  • I think they should do a new version with either:

    1) SpongeBob

    2) Every Pokemon ever made

    3) or keep the Simpsons.

  • @firereed4 ...No.

  • @Angie2343 Only celebrities missing...The cast of Avenue Q, if this were made today, that is! I can see it now...

    Trekkie and others: Hi Grover!

Grover: Now I am confused, at first I thought I had a monster in my mirror, now it seems I have two monsters, two bears, five people made of felt and three humans, when does this madness end?! (Grover goes nuts)

Princeton: Was it something we said?

    Rod: I dunno.

  • @muppetlover16 Almost perfect, but what if Grover recognized them...

  • @Angie2343 Grover: Aren't you those guys from that Broadway musical?

Nicky: How does he know about Avenue Q?

Grover: I went to see it, twice and it was hilarious! but I am still confused as to how all of you ended up in my mirror

Nicky: We always wanted to be on Sesame Street, but we never knew how to get there

Rod: So we decided to take the subway and here we are

Grover: Well it is nice to meet you all

    Princeton: Likewise!

  • @muppetlover16 Grover welcomes them aboard!

Did you know that Avenue Q is most likely a few blocks away from Sesame Street?

  • @Angie2343 Yessir, just take the subway!

  • @muppetlover16 Then why don't the Muppets go there sometime? This calls for a REAL Sesame Street petition.

  • @Angie2343 It would 'cause some major copyright issues,so no petition is necessary, besides Avenue Q is enough, and we don't have enough hands for all those puppets, btw doesn't Rick Lyon sound like Roger Ebert? and furthermore...

Kate: I'm curious, What exactly does "wubba" mean?

Trekkie: Me can tell you, wubba is monster language for...

    *Kate slaps Trekkie*

Trekkie:Why this keep happening to me?

  • @muppetlover16 Trekkie really needs to control what he says, especially around Cousin Cookie.

  • @Angie2343 Exactly why Kate slapped him and continuing from where I left off... Trekkie: Why did you hit me? Kate: 'Cause I knew that you were going to say something dirty, and besides your cousin might've heard it. Trekkie: Who, CM, he's heard worse! Cookie: Me want to know what 'wubba' mean TM:Well cuz, wubba mean... *Kate slaps Trekkie again* TM:Owww! that hurt just as much the second time! Kate: Sorry, my paw slipped CM:Me really wanna know, what wubba mean?
  • @muppetlover16 (Trekkie whispers it into his cousin's ear; he gasps)

CM: You can't be serious, coz. That's not nearly as fun as searching for cookies online. Here, lemme show you.

  • @Angie2343 Trekkie:This IS fun, more fun than surfin' the net for...me not going to say it, besides me know that internet is not for...that it's for everything else!

  • the simpsons in the sesame street YOUR DOINGING IT RIGHT

  • I always remembered the "wubba wubba wubba" part. Wow! This takes me back.

  • Who was that chef in the back ground at 1:37 with the pot of spegetti

  • @TheDaveyc9 That was the Frugal Gourmet. He had a very good cooking show.

Anyone know what ever happened to Yan Can Cook?

  • @ReBootFan1 thank you and about Yan can cook i still see him around sometimes on tv He usaually a judge on the tv show I watch called Iron chef America!

  • look at the mirror at 2:19

  • Wasn't there a picture of The Simpsons?

  • Hold on is that Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles on the piano? I can't tell the difference. Also at 1:47 is that one with the glasses Jaleel White(Urkel from Family Matters) and the one in the orange shirt Darius Mcgrady(Eddie on Family Matters)?

  • @allhailfrieza It's Ray Charles, man. Both blind, black, pianists... buy Ray had a muuuccchh better, cooler sense of style whereas Stevie actually dresses like you'd expect a blind man too. Also, Stevie now sports dreads and a stache. They look pretty different and also sound different. The guy in the glasses at 1:47 is the actor who played Theo on the Cosby Show (Malcolm-Jamal Warner). Not sure as to who the dude in orange is.

  • @DrEvilScientistMan Oh well I didn't have a good picture of Stevie Wonder in my head and a blind back pianist makes me think of him right off the bat. Also I was half asleep when I posted that so I could mistake him for Stevie Wonder that way too.

  • @DrEvilScientistMan I believe that is Blair Underwood, who was on LA Law at the time.

  • @allhailfrieza that was Ray Charles

  • @TheDaveyc9: The chef was Mr. Gourmet, a PBS staple for the preceding years before this skit.

  • wubba wubba wubba thats the censore

  • bart get out of the picture

  • This beats South Park anyday.

  • the simpsons are so funny are here.

  • They should do another version with the 4 main South Park characters Cartman, Kyle, Stan and Kenny

  • It was obviously a wobbuffet.

  • @AwesomeMikee "Wobba wobba" XD

  • JEFF GOLDBLUM! WIN

  • OH man! I spy the Frugal Gourmet guy! And Jeff Goldbluhm!

  • *sigh* I wish I grew up with Sesame Street....

'cus when I watch stuff like this, I would be high on nostalgia. ^_^

  • Bart: Hey, Wobba man!

    Homer: BART!

  • SIMPSONS >:D

  • SIMPSONS >:O

  • i remember when simpsons appeared on this it was the coolest thing ever.... i thought sesame street never showed it enough, now we can watch it as much as i want here

  • @MrRanjv1 I know, right? :D

  • This scared me soooo much when I was little

  • Woah! The Simpsons, one of the disliked programs by parents on TV, is on the most famous TV program for children!!!

  • @themoviemistro: Craig Bartlett (think writer of Rugrats, animator for Pee-Wee's Playhouse, & creator of Hey Arnold) was an animator during this era & since he IS married to Lisa Groening (who was the one who came up with Helga's obsessive longing for the ol' football head)--sister of the family "Bart", Matt Groening (The Simpsons' creator), there you go then.

  • oh... my god lol this takes me back. my man dwayne wayne lol

  • Ah the good ol' days:)

  • I knew I wasn't crazy! I thought I remembered seeing the Simsons in this song, but when I watched the original version I was confused. Then I found this!

  • Yoda should have been in it

  • I had this song shown to me in a lecture at university today in reference to Freud

  • @UniqueAngel9 Um... how? I'd really like to know the theory behind that one.... which version this one or the original??

  • @lizzysan22 it was to do with the id and the ego and the super ego. If you've studied it before you should be able to make the connection.

  • greatest song ever

  • THIS IS WHY PBS IS BROKE!

  • 22 people are monsters in their mirrors

  • A lot of B-list and C-list celebrities. A few A-list celebrities in there. But great seeing The Simpsons is awesome. Grover is one of my all-time favourite Muppets.

  • I remember this from when i was a child!!

  • Can any of you think of another show that could get this many celebrities together other than an awards event?

  • classic

  • classic

  • Too bad Bloody Mary's victims obviously never heard this song. Grover's advice could've saved their lives.

But seriously, this was one of the greatest things I'd ever seen on TV as a kid and I'm glad I got to see it again. Thank goodness for youtube.

  • omg god all these celebrities from the '90s.... AND the simpsons.......this is the most epic thing i've seen in souch a long time....gawd i miss my childhood

  • cookie monsters cousin :O!!!!

  • Holy childhood memories Batman! This song is an absolute classic and EVERY child should hear it once if not a million times.

  • Arrrgh, they took my freakin' kidney (and when I say "kidney", I mean, "the wikia page with all the celebrities' names on it")!

  • BART!

  • The Ray Charles part is truly EPIC!

  • Comment removed

  • STILL, when compared to Family Guy, South Park, and Robot Chicken...even by today's standards, The Simpsons are tame. And you also must think of this being made in the 90's, when Bart-mania was high and everybody knew of The Simpsons.

  • Comment removed

  • @dagreedo98: Exactly.

  • Haha! This is the version that I grew up watching!!! The original is epic too XD But I always liked the part where the Simpsons portrait starts talking and Grover makes a derp face! Lol

  • Spongebob and Patrick or Phineas and Ferb should be on Sesame Street...lol...Phineas and Ferb would be PERFECT for the Simpson's part...and have Candace go "MOM PHINEAS AND FERB ARE DOING A SONG WITH GROVER!!!!"

  • Comment removed

  • All the celebrities are listed on the monster in the mirror page on the muppet wiki

  • i didnt know the simpsons were on sesame street

  • they should do a new version of this song with the celebrities that are out now(even though most ofthe celebs in this video are still around and alive)

  • Bo Derek, Ray Charles, Robin Williams, the Frugal Gourmet, that african choir... Who else???

  • @corjonbett I saw Candace Burgen (Murphy Brown); Sharon Gless; the guy from A Different World(spin off of the cosby show); Tracey Ullman; Roger & Ebert; Whoopi Goldberg; Jeff Goldblum; Kid N Play ( where u see Bo in the phone booth, they're in the background); lou diamond phillips; tyne daly; julia roberts; Malcolm jamal warner; glenn cose; ray charles; and maybe Conchita Alonso (The Running Man); the rest i didnt recognize

  • One of my all time favorites ^__^

  • my brother saw this when he was 8 in 1991, my sister was 3 and I was a newborn.

  • I wasn't even born yet in the original version but I was born when the celebrity version came out in 1991.

  • does anyone else feel old because you actually know who the majority of the celebrities are?

  • And there go the simpsons..... So it WASN'T a trip I was on when I was 6

  • who is the blonde that pops up throughout & then again at the end by Robin Williams?

  • @swalke67 It's Geena Davis.

  • I knew that Ray Charles and The Simpsons were in this version, but I never knew Siskel and Ebert had a walk-on role. Completely made my day, and by day I mean night. :D

  • Holy SHIT(AKE mushrooms) RAY CHARLES WAS IN IT!!?!!!

  • @AdmiralofU2 don't say that word

  • I remember this. I knew Sesame Street was about to take a big turn when The Simpsons showed up.

    ..however cool.

  • wat the simpson doing in doing in Sesame Street

  • 2:41, when you see it you'll shit bricks.

  • that was so funny hey wabba man BART lol

  • @babyfloats ur right that was funny

  • This... is the most wonderful, nostalgic thing I've ever seen.

  • @anaemia I almost agree with you. #2 on my list, with #1 being the celebrity version of "Put Down the Duckie".

  • Comment removed

  • @anaemia me too I prefer this version

  • Ray Charles is such a classy guy.

  • The fugal Goreumet guy Diddled little boys around this time! He definaley didnt belong in Seaseme Street!

  • i remember this from when i was a kid! i totally remember the simpsons because i wasn't allowed to watch them, that's like the only part i remember!

  • @Hamlet12341 when were you allowed to watch the simpsons?

  • @moonoink I wasn't but I used to see comircals of them on tv and my mom was always like I better never catch you watching that show. just because i didn't watch them dosen't mean i didn't know who they were. kids pick up on stuff.

  • @Hamlet12341 are you allowed to watch the simpsons now, and if so, what was your mom's reaction

  • @moonoink haha, yeah i can watch them now, just don't want to, i think they are lame. i watch south park....let me tell mom is not too happy about that, lol ;) now they need to remake this clip with the south park kids in the frame, have them say "they killed grover! you bastard! that would be classic...

  • @Hamlet12341 Hey, South Park crept into kid's TV once already... Arthur did a spoof of "Cartman Gets An Anal Probe" around the time the show began.

  • @SecretTimeWarp that same episode had a parody of Beavis & Butthead.

  • @SecretTimeWarp yeah right.

  • @Wheeloffortunefan999 Uh, actually they did. Did you even bother looking? Search for "arthur south park" on here... multiple people have uploaded it. The same episode spoofed Dr. Katz, Dexter's Laboratory and Beavis & Butthead.

  • @Hamlet12341 are you out of ur mind? this is sesame street, get a life man.

  • @Wheeloffortunefan999 thats right!

  • @Hamlet12341 Same here.

  • The Simpsons in Sesame Street is SO wrong.

  • Comment removed

  • @dagreedo98: Yeah. Heck, the also controversial local shows like "George Lopez", "My Wife and Kids", and others made onto Nick-at-Nite. What does that tell you? Or better yet, the teenybop actors and actresses on Disney and Nick acting like 16 year olds and above, despite having audiences as young as 5 years...Things HAVE changed.

  • @MrCrazyToad: No. It isn't remember the time context. In the 90's, Bart was a star to the point that comics and videogames featured him. Plus, compared to nowaday expectations and his contemporaries--Family Guy, South Park, Futurama, et al--Bart Simpson saying, "Don't have a cow man", "Eat my shorts", and "Aye carumba" would be tame fare.

  • when i saw the simpsons in this video i laughed so hard

  • the simpsons? what the hell are they doing in a pre school show?

  • @supermariofan03: The Simpons was just starting in 1991. It was tamer back then, when compared to today's expectations. Plus, Bart-mania was high, with every Simpsons based game starring him as the main star.

  • The Simpsons version is still on Sesame Street.org

  • 1:51 Bo knows Monsters in Mirrors.

  • I wish I had Homer Simpson as a father

  • the simpsons are notoffesnsive

  • Why is Grover, the Simpsons and Ray Charles the only people i recognize?

    Meh, the songs owns :D

  • @rhbdpy I saw Whoopi and Robin Williams in it too.

  • @rhbdpy I recognize them, along with Whoopi Goldberg.

  • @rhbdpy maybe because this version was made in 1991 so you wouldn't recognize some celebrities from the early 1990's.

  • @skeaneable Yup, probably. That, or it is mostly USA-only celebs, or that they have changed too much :)

  • Come on we all know the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote apperd on The Electric Company.

  • It's a good thing Homer didn't strangle Bart on Sesame Street...

  • @007ifyable Amen

  • @KatieLoveWorld I guss they did this so the kids can enjoy the Simpsons too sence not all Simpsons episodes are avaible for kids

  • ahhh it's been awhile since I've seen this piece of my childhood :)

    and, omg Ray Charles!!!
