There is 0% illiteracy, 0% homeless, and nobody starves. To say Cuba is a model of evil is to be mistaken. Cuba is something the United States wants to be, but goes in the wrong way of achieving it. We instead deal with China, paint them as heroes, while they scare their own people.

Honestly I'm Cuban, lived there till I was 11 and know exactly what it's like to live under communism, but i still love my country and my people. Concerning Elian, his case had nothing to do with politics, this was a little boy who saw his mother drown, ended up with strangers, and deserved to be returned to the place he never asked to be taken away from.
I have no Cuban ancestors and I'm 100% American but I got to spend 7 days in Cuba. I got to see the remnants of what was a great, beautiful and prosperous country. There is 0% illiteracy, 0% homeless, and nobody starves. To say Cuba is a model of evil is to be mistaken. Cuba is something the United States wants to be, but goes in the wrong way of achieving it. I have no Cuban ancestors and I'm 100% American but I got to spend 7 days in Cuba. I got to see the remnants of what was a great, beautiful and prosperous country. Overgrown unkempt marble walkways leading to dilapidated mansions near the beach. This was once a magnificent country now is a shell of its former self. I only have heard of how it was in the 50's and early 60's. I can see reminders of this time everywhere. I feel sorry for what Cuba has become.

There is the Wet Foot Dry Foot policy for cubans - if you reach US Soil you are allowed to stay if you want to. The problem with this case was that he was a minor, and his father wanted him back in Cuba.

Not true..the Wet Food Dry Foot only allows immigrants who have reached US soil to have a RIGHT TO A CASE to stay in the US.
