wow i didn't know that n82 is so fast. but if n82 has 128mb ram and e51 has 96 then ofcourse e51 is slower but it shouldn't be so much slower then because there isn't much difference in these phones memory. so maybe that E51 has more videos and other files what takes memory

I tried to replicate this test with my E51 and my phone was ready on the 35th second of this video clip. The author pressed power button on the 7th second so that makes it 28 seconds boot time. N82 seems to be faster though...

The N82 definitely starts faster because it has a RAM of 128mb, as compared to 96mb for the E51. But aside from that, their response time to applications are about the same.

Startup time depends on several factors, not only hardware, some mobile OS index all text messages when turned on, if you have many it will take a while, some mobile phone's have applications running at startup (like a flash wallpaper/splash screen), anyway N82 being faster was expected.

By the way, my phone takes around 8mins to be fully functional (takes 15 secs to turn on, but you can't do everything right away), i have around 4000 messages/emails on inbox/outbox plus 8Mb of games.

Totally rigged video. The E51 is faster than that. Besides, the N82 has the most stupidly uselessly shaped and sized keys other than Sony Ericsson's abominations. The E51 has nice, tactile keys.

lol you retarded you dont know anything about e51. it has 96 MB of RAM too (50MB from it is free after booting so that +32MB RAM doesn't matter at all at startup) and it has a faster CPU, than your fucking N82 has. N82 is a good phone too, i like it just dont talk bullshit things about a phone u dont know at all.

i know that all, i know what features the N82 has. btw E51 has capability to support 16GB MicroSDHC cards too. yes they're not in the same category, i must say how much the N82 costs more, that much is it better than the E51. if you want GPS and 5mp in your phone, buy a N82, if you don't want to make professional photos with your phone (btw even N82 is much worse, than a low-proced digital camera for this purpuse) and dont want to use your phone as a GPS, go for the E51.

well, you're wrong. e51 has 96 megs RAM(50MB free after reboot so it absolety doesnt affect startup time) and 369MHz CPU while n82 has 332MHz CPU.

The n82 has a faster CPU, its 2 CPUs while the E51 has a single CPU. It also has an Intergrated graphics accelerator. When you compare the E51 and N82s CPUs its like comparing an Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz cpu to an AMD Athlon64 x2 Dual Core 2.2GHz CPU. btw ofcourse a propper digital camera will have better results generally, but if you want 2 take a snap shot and you only have your phone its handy to have that quality, don't forget not everyone takes a camera all the time. n82 has 32MB more RAM too
