  • Is it me or is that the SAME EXACT boat from Uncharted 1?

  • dude thats tha 1st lvl...

  • this game looks awesome

  • gud game

  • i saw a monkey fly the other day, just kidding this game is pretty lame

  • thank you!=)

  • I beat this game. It's fantastic. But I wouldn't suggest buying it. It's really short. You could beat it in a few days so If your thinking about getting it, rent it first.

  • I bought the game, and it's extremely disappointing. The fighting was great... for a whole 30 minutes. The shooting is absolutely terrible, and the movie gets butchered into little 10 minute fragments. Also, the driving level is ridiculously stupid. I was really pissed because the movies were sick, but the game just shat in a bowl.

  • I can combat these:

The fighting isnt supposed to be like Tekken. Its supposed to be more realistic.

The shooting isnt supposed to be like Gears or Uncharted. Its supposed to push you to keep moving forward towards the villains & your objective kinda like Dragon's Lair.

The driving is only one level and is about on par with Wheelman with better physics than GTA's driving at least.

The movie segments are kept short to keep the pace of the game faster. If you wanted a movie just watch the movie

  • Thanks for reviving my 1-year old comment. I related the fighting of Bourne to Tekken. Obviously it's going to be more realistic if it's based on a movie/novel, but there's a difference between realistic elements and repetitive limitation. I never compared the shooting to Gears or Uncharted, but the shooting in this game is certainly worse. Obviously you're supposed to be "pushed forward", but the rather flawed shooting system makes this more difficult than it should be. (continued)

  • You proved my point in your post about the driving. The driving, a riveting facet of the novel/movie, was limited to one level. Furthermore, that level was so poorly designed and the physics were so awkward and distorted that it made me cringe. Obviously the driving's going to be better than a sandbox game like A, but it did not live up to its potential. The cutscenes did make the pace faster; it also butchered the storyline and made it rather distorted. Good attempt, though.

  • Dead to Rights has Auto Aim, which should make the it infinitely easier than this though many say its more difficult for them. All I can say is play better then. The driving is better than GTAIV that says a lot since GTA has AUTO in it so regardless its a sandnox, is not a good excuse for poor driving. Driver Parallel Lines & Driver 76 had better driving. Once again, a lot of people complain abut lengthy cutscenes & if you are a fan of Bourne u prolly watched the movies anyway so moot point

  • I never said that auto aim was needed. Auto aim is actually NOT needed for this game. Better mechanics are needed. The simple crudeness of the aiming and shooting are hindrances to the gun system. Next, a sandbox game encompasses so many facets of other games; it's impossible to vamp up ever aspect up to par. GTA has multiple forms of vehicle transport, a main storyline, side stories, a melee and shooting system, and other aspects in it. (continued)

  • Splinter Cell Conviction actually tries to improve the limitations of sandbox by removing the huge one and favoring 'mini sandboxes' by focusing the player to interact with the area in which their specific mission is at hand.

FF XIII also does something similar in its 'battle transitions' in order to not limit the CPU's taxing on the animation while it would also be trying to render things you can see anyway in other parts of the video game

  • When you're covering so many different aspects in a game, the quality of some are obviously not going to be up to par with another game in which THAT aspect has been emphasized and focused on. Obviously, Gears of War is going to have better shooting than GTA. However, GTA has vehicles, a lengthy storyline, and more interactions between AI. Sandbox games also have MANY more triggers between AI and player, so the developers of GTA had to balance time with limitless triggers AND shooting systems

  • GTA represents "A Jack of all trades, a master on none"

Until they can optimize the power of the consoles (probably the PS3 & the Blu-Ray capacity most likely) than it will always be this way. Such the nature with multi platform.

  • As for the cutscenes: Metal Gear. The whole Metal Gear franchise is famous for its lengthy cutscenes. It's absolutely NOT a hindrance to the game, and, in fact, makes the game series better. More examples include FF, Mass Effect, Diablo 1 and 2, etc. Shooting games that have lengthy cutscenes also do well, with Gears of War, Halo, and Unreal Tournament being attestments to that. If you've watched the movies and/or read the novels, you can't possibly say that you're satisfied with this game.

  • Except those arent movie based games. Its pointless for the video game to have lengthy cutscenes like those played out for fans who've probably watched the movie anyway. Rather focus on the gameplay and this games fast frenetic nature and pace is what I enjoyed about it.

Plus the cutscenes in MGS4 (which I enjoyed) is one of the biggest complaints from the naysayer department anyway. I can give you the worst ex: Starblazers (Yamto) PS2 game, (based on the anime) opening was 2 hour cutscene!

  • I can also bring up two other well recieved movie based games that dont use lengthy cutscenes: GOLDEN EYE & X-Men Origins: Wolverine (which I am grateful for because that movie sucked anyway and the less I'm reminded of it the better.)

It's the fast paced gameplay of both games which I cared more for anyway over any cutscenes.

  • The transitions from level to level are crudely strung together as if a freelance Powerpoint enthusiast had a field day on the game. Also, the attempt to smoothen out proximity melee and shooting was a good idea, but it ultimately appeared choppy and hurt the overall gameplay. Also the camera angles for key parts in the game are absolutely atrocious. They obstruct your view so you swing like a madman in fights. They make the already horrid shooting even more strained and in collapse. (con..)

  • I also take offense in "swinging like a madman". That sounds like the complaints people make with Tekken and it being a buttom masher. You CANNOT button mash in this game. It's all about distance and timing and using your enviroment which is how a real fight occurs. I never had any obstruction of view because I had full 360 degree movement where I purposely would draw the enemy to areas where I could issue a solid takedown

  • You CAN button mash in this game. If you say that meaning that technicallity is needed, so be it, it does not discredit or disallow button mashing. However, you were wrong on my meaning of this again. My complaint was not of button mashing; my complaint was about the lack of fluidity in the system. As for the distance and timing and use of environment being realistic: that's still not at all what I'm trying to convey. I have no complaint on the realism, spot on for that aspect. (continued)

  • The fighting system implemented tried to be innovative in its incorporation of special environmental attacks and pseudo-cinematic takedowns. However, this attempt detracted from the common attacks/combos in which every fight uses. Just like every other aspect of the game, the fighting was VERY repetitive. The takedowns from afar worked nicely, but after a dozen fights with the same combos and etc, it gets a bit tiring. As for the view obstruction, I believe you're alone on that view.

  • In driving, the camera angles makes turns risky and makes dodging obstacles harder. Also, the sniping level, a highpoint in the game, was hampered by odd pannings of the camera, ruining a high quality level. I guess you can point out the fast pace of the game as a pro rather than a con of the game, but I personally couldn't enjoy the rushed pace with such bad mechanics and half-assed repetition/lazyness on the developer's part.

  • I had no problem with the driving camera angles nor the fighting camera it just sounds like you're nitpicking to cover your inability to survive well in the game do to your playing skills.

  • Nitpicking? It can hardly be called nitpicking when its been noted as a common issue for many. Cover your fanaticism a bit, fanboy.

  • Dont call me a fanboy. I've listened to your remarks and I disagreed with them. Just cause I like the game and you dont doesnt make me a fanboy. You said you personally couldnt enjoy it. I'm telling you why I personally enjoyed it. And that is from looking at the game from a non nitpicking perspective. Which you should try to incorporate in the rest of your life. You are probably the buzz kill of a party

  • Yes, but you jumped to the assumption that the only reason why I had complaints over this game was over my lack of skill. I clearly pointed out technical flaws in the game in which would lead a rational person to respectably listen to them. You, however, acted like a fanboy, approaching any disagreement as a sure sign of detestment frrom the start and a lack of skill. Gain some maturity and some follow through in your arguments, and you might be worth listening to.

  • Really, I've found that the cutscenes are storyline enhancers for many Metal Gear fans. As for Bourne's gameplay, I disagree. The game is frenetic and captures the "rushed realism" of the movies, but that does NOT make up for the game's mechanics. The aiming system for that game is terribly slow, ineffective, and poorly coordinated. The fighting is well planned, especially with the special environmental attacks, but is too limited for a game in which melee is a heavy part of it. (continued)

  • You still go on to bash the shooting. Like I said, the game isnt meant to be sit and cover and shoot. It's meant to rush you to your goal as Bourne doesnt even want to use guns. I can tell you one example I rushed straight pat a few guards to jump out of a window in time before the building exploded. Thats why I said its designed as a frenetic fast pace like Dragon's Lair. Different from Gears.

  • Of course it's not meant to be "cover-and-shoot" style, but that's not my complaint. My complaint is that it's poorly coordinated and seems as if it were designed by a group of amateur teenage video game designers.

  • I believe you're alone on that view because many others, with myself included, did not have a full 360 degree view for the majority of the game. At best, you'd have a 1/6 of the screen obstruction, leaving for an even more difficult task of shooting or executing a takedown.

  • 360 movement. The camera changes as you move around your opponent. So if you dont like a specifice camera angle just move.

  • It does not adjust in time. That's the point. When you move, it's suppose to pan with you, but it does not. Or, at least, it does not do it efficient enough for a fighting sequence.

  • It never bothered me or hindered my gameplay so you must suck at it then

  • Nice argument. Too bad it's been been established that my complaints over the game are common by reviewer standards. The fact that this game's controls and mechanics did not hinder your gameplay, which I fail to believe for even a second, does not nullify any hinderances in which myself and others faced over them. Also, your apparent fanboyism is so blatant that your analysis of this game is so far from objective that your argument is moot. Glad you liked the game, fanboy.

  • Stop

  • They should make another game like this. The combat system is awesome.

  • Hi guys. This games looks pretty damn good but I'm wondering something: Is there some fire arms weapons also or it's only some hand to hand combat + possibility of male weapons?

  • Well, the movie was good,so the game has to be either just as good,or better.I love how this game looks. It might become the Xbox 360 game of the year.I still want to play Star Wars The Force Unleashed when it comes out,but LucasArts delayed it too long. Now it may not match up to this very well,so I'm going straight to Gamestop to buy this one. xD

  • just got it its the best!!!

  • did u get it on xbox?

  • nope ps3

  • me to. I'm not comfortable with xbox 360 controller. I'm use to ps3. O well.
