There's a huge housing problem in the netherlands and NOW the government is trying to create an anti-squatting law. We, the biggest squat in the country, will need all the support we can get. This documentary really makes my happy, it's showing the real squatters and not just a bunch of junkies and vandals.
It looks like they finished like everybody else. Normal jobs. Normal houses. Normal conditions. What did it change? Was it worth it? On a permanent basis, of coure...
I was wondering the same thing. I guess people make concessions and get tired of being poor. I think about that arc a lot. Is that what happens when you get older? How do older adults even claim to be adults? Is it adult to see the shape the whole world, including animals and ecosystems, and continue to "live comfortably?" Wealth is Death!
shame that it seems to usually be the middle class getting into these ideas, opposed to the working class, for example the CNT, POUM etc in spain, actual worker movements that nearly did achieve revolution
So do these 'revolutionaries' still live in squallor, or do they now consider their residences 'their's' or 'owned' by them now. Not that they didn't learn a lesson on how societies exploit (or don't positively exploit) their own resources, but would the proposed 'anarchistic/revolutionist society' actually be a good SYSTEM or are they more fighting for change within an existing system (that for the most part, allowed it).
that's just fine and dandy back then but your country is in for shits if you don't revolutionise your archaic laws!
