Ive had this product for two months and it is SWEET!!! Bye bye annoying usb cable that doesnt want to charge my ps3 controller without giving me a hassle.
It would suck if you weren't able to attach a wire between the controller and this thing, otherwise you can't play while charging.
You may be wondering why not just plug it in the PS3. Well, I sit 10 ft away from it and don't want a USB cable spanning that distance.
I would rather use an outlet that's next to me, and of course you would need a device like this to do that. Pointless if it doesn't come with a wire between it and the controller.

I doubt this works with the POWER A controller.
