i think what needs to be rememberd is scultpting technology has improved in 34 years and when the original figures came out they were toys and the first of there kind there was no collectors market and were expected to be disgarded after the movies run in 83 the only fair comparrison is how sculpting tech has improved its a great review i'm loving them alot and something i to do in my latest reviews so u can all thank my generation for keeping star wars alive for you kids to enjoy lol
@NERFHERDER76 You're absolutely right. That's why it bothers me when other collectors call vintage "crappy." They don't realize that these figures are from a completely different era, and technology and other things weren't the same.
I'm glad you're liking the reviews! And thank you for keeping Star Wars alive, lol.
OLD SCHOOL!!! I wish they made articulation like the 1978 version now...haha! Great comparison mate..hope to see some more like this soon, i enjoy seeing the difference!
I think you have found your forte in these "Vintage VS Modern" Videos, it's almost a signature series for you. You should promote these as your channels main attraction!
I love the 2004 Stormtrooper. I think its the best buy far. I hated the 2007/8 30th Ann. Stormtrooper with removable helmet, the body was obviously put together without care and the helmet never stayed on. So avoid that one, buddy.
@TheRevengeJedi I've avoided the TAC Stormies because of the removable helmet. There's something about it that I just don't like, lol. Maybe because it's a reference to clones and the prequels? lol, I don't know. Glad you liked the review!
@DarthMauldaLego I know whar you mean. I really don't like all the tie-ins that hasbro are making with the Prequels, but at least we have a alternative, pure-OT option (this figure here). :)
@occidentalmartyr potf stormtroopers arent so bad, the helmets are lacking a little though. i remember being really happy with them at the time because the vintage ones are too stiff looking. the new ones beat them both.
@boojwahz I suppose the Vintage one is pretty "stiff looking," but I do like its cartoonish look. It reminds me of stormies from the 1985 Droids cartoon series (which I am a fan of). The POTF2 version looks kind of crappy to me, but I guess it's just a matter of opinion, lol : )
Not sure what the point is.....it's like comparing a Ferrari to a pinto. They are in two different genre's of figures.

@armor452 That's one of the reasons it's so fun to compare them. It's interesting to see how action figures have evolved over the years.

Vintage one is still better than the awful first PotF2 version. I really don't know what Kenner was thinking when they came up with those sculpts.

@DarthMauldaLego was there ever a stormtrooper figure released in the Droids collection? i dont think so but i am going to check right now.
boojwahz 1 year ago
@boojwahz No, but the Vintage Stormtrooper would have fit in well with the Droids figures because it looks just like the Stromtroopers from the show.
