I have a VHS version of this that came out in the 80's, and it's got like 20 mins of deleted footage that was lost then found in an old wearhouse, if that version still exists anywhere u guys should all watch it, it adds alot more and is twice as entertaining
The film was a moderate success when it came out, but not in the order the producers had hoped. It was hugely expensive, and much longer than theaters liked.
@MikeHz2000 oh, well I like it lol I don't care if it is from the 60's I think it's a great movie, I've got this VHS version that has like 20 mns of extra footage, it makes it even more entertaining, but either way it's a really good movie
@MikeHz2000 A "moderate" success? Interesting comment considering it made 5x its budget at the box office and is in the 100 top grossing movies of all time if adjusted for inflation.
I first saw this in 64 im nearly 60 now and it is still my favourite movie I have seen it 77 times and plan on making it 100 I still use one liners from it . Ethell Mermon should have been awarded an oscar It was Tracys second last movie, just like your farther a great big mussel headed moron, what are you, the hostess.
And this movie, to quote one write up, has every single joker in the business at the time. There's one scene in the movie, no dialog, that's hilarious despite only lasting a few seconds.
The Three Stooges, as firemen. Nothing more need be said.
You'd think the poster would credit the artist of these titles since the poster supposedly like the artist's work, and they've taken the time to post this! I believe it was SAUL BASS. It only reflects the mentality of people today where posting makes them feel somehow responsible or special for simply ripping off artists work and posting it.
A great movie of all times. 60's was indeed the best period for movies of class.
This was the last movie seen by President JFK with his family on the date of release. A week later he was caught in the cross-hairs of an assassin's assault rifle.
And jonathan winters

Something to note. The only living actors from the main cast are just Sid Caesar and Micky Rooney

Easily one of the best movie openings ever

When just the opening credits of a movie make you laugh your ass off you know you're in for a great ride.

My dad showed me this when I was 10 years old back in '07, I was like screw modern comedy this pisses on most of what we have today.

today comedy is all about sex and racist jokes. back then comedy meant so much more than that

I saw this when it first came out, and used to know every line by memory. One of the greatest, most underrated films of all time.
