  • im aussie and i have to say those japanese were some tough guys

  • what an asshole that american who shot the japanese guy if i was him i should let him be tortured so long that he will take his own pistol and say banzai to himself. fuck the tojo

  • @hailtheswastika1996 what if you just watched your friends get killed right in front of you how would that make you feel huh you would be pissed wouldn't you thats why he shot him.

  • @fackrez11 but the tojo his friends are already died so nobody is watching him instead the us marines

  • @hailtheswastika1996 u retarted. It's war, whatever happens happens

  • They make the enemies seem stupid running around like fools... the same thing happened in the old BOB.

  • @Th3m4X92

spielberg always seems to make the bad guys look like retarded robots.

  • as crazy as this it all actually happened hard to believe.....probably 100 times worse

  • As sad as it is at the time if i was there fuck um

  • That's an M3 AT gun firing at 3:40, right? How come it fires 3 shots one after another? Mistake on behalf of the film makers?

  • HOT LOAD!!!!!! HANGING! FIRE!

  • Little dumb to not check the nip

  • This episode made me laugh when they sang the birthday song LOL

  • @bL1nDnoTd3aF Happy birthday to you, How fucked are you now?

  • That M1917A1 Browning Machinegun looks very formidable at the start of the clip...given M1917A1 > M1919A4 though the MG-42 takes it...

  • @HeirofGojira91 Fuckin' show off! Are we supposed to be impressed? LMAO

  • @WizardOfChicamunga Relax. And I apologize if you took offence - I was merely just noting the power of the M1917A1. And no, I'm not showing off - I'm not a trigger happy person.

  • and the grammy award goes to........ 5:56.

  • @joey143anna haha! shamefurll displrayy!

  • anyone has the full episodes of The Pacific? i really wanna watch it

  • @1209cottoncandy Im just saying, u should buy it, its a way better experience

  • @1209cottoncandy SAME MAN

  • Skipper, Skipper u ok

    (Skipper breathes heavyley)

Goddamn it, he lost it, lets move

  • i don't and that's all that matters to me... im proud that they fought and did their duty, but it a movie its not supposed to be 100% correct or else it wouldn't be that good of a movie

  • Read Robert leckies book Helmet for my Pillow for a more accurate account of the battle

  • @kurdt6794 I'm doing that at the moment, just got up to Guadalcanal and they're lost lol.

  • @berserker276 also read With the old breed by Eugene Sledge i think it is certainly on par with Helmet for my pillow

  • @kurdt6794 Just found a book that's probably even better than both of them, Flags of our Fathers. I'm only on page 16 but it's quite good.

  • @berserker276 I'm sure ive have seen the tv movie of the same name

  • @berserker276 I have the movie.. It's good, but this is WAY better..

  • Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, Leckie was on the far right flank. This wasn't the way it happened!!!. Three Marines, Corporal Lee Diamond, Pfc. John Rivers and Pvt. Albert Schmid broke up the Japanese attack. Rivers was KIA, Diamond wounded six times and Schmid blinded. All three were awarded the Navy Cross. Schmid and Diamond should have received the Congressional Medal of Honor. Google the names or go to the Pacific Wrecks web site for the real deal. BTW Jack Rivers is/was my Uncle.

  • @drbogo321 john rivers or jack rivers?lol

  • @TheGreekSniperZ Both, Just like President John F. Kennedy , John was known as Jack to close friends and family, while others called him John.

  • @drbogo321 aaah okk man!

  • @drbogo321 no one cares its a movie...

  • @OoFROSTEDoO People do care. My Mom cares, Lee Diamond's family cares, Al Schmid family cares. Those guys were on an island 6,000 miles from home, with equipment from World War One , only enough food for two weeks, fighting an enemy with better training and more experience. All so you could enjoy the freedom to sit on your ass and make comments. Tom Hanks and Spielberg made millions of dollars on the story; at least they could have got the facts straight..

  • Even though that machine gun looks like a maxim it's a browning with a water-cooled barrel instead of an air-cooled barrel

  • Wheres Your Tojo Now!!

  • damn they still used the vickers in ww2?

  • @gibsonz0 Not vickers, browning watercooled mg

  • the gun that won ww2 was the M1 garand simple as that

  • @templar1243 lol no gun won ww2

  • Japanese were as evil as Nazi.

They abducted 200,000 Asians (also Caucasians), raped them up to 50 times a day & buried them alive to save bullets.

Japanese govt won't apologize to the surviving sex slaves.

In 2007, Japanese govt org's bought 1 pg. of Wall Street Journal & filled it with OUTRAGEOUS LIES: (1) the females were whores who volunteered to serve Japanese soldiers. (2) Japanese govt paid them more than Japanese army generals.

GOOGLE: Jan Ruff O'Herne (Japanese military sex slave)

  • @KimInLosAngeles Yeah, because every single Japanese soldier that served in WWII was suicidal and brutal; just like how every German soldier that served in WWII was a Nazi. You're not doing enough research. I've met a man served in the Imperial Japanese Army and even he didn't understand the logic of the Kamikazes. Or of any of the other Japs he fought alongside with. Saying what you just said is like saying every American soldier that was at the Mi Lai Massacre of '68 was responsible for it.

  • Are the soldiers from band of brothers here .

  • The Machine gun is a britist maxim gun, american are gay they stole the english bastard's weapon cuz they think their B.A.R sucks

  • @Nmhgktf What the fuck have you been smoking? That's the M1917 Browning Machine Gun. It's in no way related to the Maxim aside from looking like one using a water jacket to cool the barrel. The M1917 uses a sliding lock while the maxim uses a toggle lock. Internally, they are vastly different. The B.A.R. left much to be desired yes but it performs a different role than an HMG. Read a book before you decide to spew shit.

  • @something01992 Go fuck yourself don't you see the gun is actually a united kingdom vickers medium machine gun and i also see some american-english-fanatic fuckhead use lee-enfield,man these half-american assholes sure fuck britain guy before they too obsess with britist they use their gun so for now they can kiss my ass and say god save the queen

  • @Nmhgktf Go choke on a dick you fucking cunt. Who taught you English? I can't understand a thing you wrote. The machine gun is a M1917 Browning Machine Gun you fucking cunt face. It's BETTER than the Maxim. The bolt action rifle is a M1903A3 Springfield you retarded fuck. It's not even related to the Lee Enfield. You don't know shit about WWII weapons you retarded dog shit educated imbecile. You're a retarded cunt who can't grasp the English language because you failed in school.

  • @something01992 You mad bro?

  • @kicknbazz1615 I'm loving it.

  • @kicknbazz1615 i can see why he's mad, the kid he's arguing with doesn't know how to spell British, and can't tell the difference between bolt action rifles.

  • @something01992 Oh yes, they should immigrate to great britain and work as a britist weapon manufactoror since there're keen to know how the ass of a maxim look like

  • @Nmhgktf No, its an American M1917 caliber .30 HMG, designed by John Browning, it has a similar appearance to the Vickers but its not the same weapon.

  • @Nmhgktf The guy who invented the Maxim gun was American lol

  • @Nmhgktf The guy who invented the Maxim gun was American lol

  • they didnt have m1903a3 yet ,thats all im tryin to say

  • they dint have m1903a3s on the canal is tom hanks fuckin nuts

  • @bargunner18

You're referring to their Springfield rifles?

Yes, they did have them in the early battles of the Pacific theatre.

  • Comment removed

  • @bargunner18

    K?

  • @2210ethan wtf did i do to get my comment removed

  • @bargunner18

Haha I'm not sure. Anyway regarding the rifles I'd say that it's a small error; I certainly didn't notice it and I can't believe that many did. The 'crickets' in BoB could have been better too, but don't lose sight of the wood for the trees.

  • @2210ethan they did a excellent job autheticity wise they even have the correct depot made haversacks for the canal and hawley liners the only other error is the safety on the m1 carbines is rotary when it should be push button

  • @bargunner18

For sure, I also think they did a good job. I think I slightly prefer Band of Brothers but I think it's probably an easier story to depict with a tv series.

  • bomb singular on hiroshima

  • people always act like the allies were the good guys and overlooks the fact that realy it was the action of a few twised individuals that caused the war and besides both sides commited attrocities like the allied carpet bombing of germen cities or the atomic bombs on Hiroshima a city full of civillians or the Nazi death camps, just look at it this way there was no good or bad side just good or bad people

  • @KingMehXIII

    Keep telling yourself that, Hirohito.

  • @KingMehXIII

While it's true that both sides committed atrocities, you can't rule out the fact that the allies pursued peace and wanted to put an end to the war. Ultimately, it was the axis side that committed more horrendous acts though. The Americans want to land their expeditionary forces on mainland Japan, but in all the Japanese Emperors cunning wisdom, he had brainwashed everyone to fight to the last man, including civilians. I could go on & on about the disgusting things they have done.

  • @Cayden1986 while it may be that the allies pursued peace that does not make them the good guys while the axis may have been worse the allies are not the "knights in shining armour" they are often made out to be

  • @KingMehXIII

The good guys were the ones who didn't commit genocide. Hope this helps.

  • @KingMehXIII

Well now you've just contradicted yourself. Anyways, well it certainly makes them the good guys if the conclusion/outcome of the war was peace. The allies invaded, moved in and dismantled the power of all axis parties. The axis certainly never dismantled anything except invade and occupy for their own interests!

  • @KingMehXIII

Besides KingMeh, I'd rather have the Americans, British, Australians, and all countries that sided with the allies to win. I certainly don't like the idea of being part of some Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere or saluting a swastika under the Hitler family bloodline swearing an oath to them. Do you?

  • @Cayden1986 I would like to point out that I didn't say I would prefer the axis world order but I will have to say I prefer the allied world, however in the event of an axis victory I would not have the same opinion and if the war ended in an axis victory there would be no Hitler bloodline as Hitler only got married because he thought that the Rusiians would kill him.

  • Japs won WWII,but USA found a cheat code.

  • anyone know what that japanese guy was saying?

  • @gearsofmuffin tenno heika banzai long live the emperor

  • @gearsofmuffin He said actually ,"Shoot me! Come on ! Shoot me! And kill me!" in Japanese.

  • @425jeonsa As one Veteran put it "Some people say what we did was inhumane. All I can say is 'You weren't there" (he was speaking of shooting japanese prisoners because of the danger that they had grenades up their sleeves.)

  • Does anyone know why they used different MG barrels and tommy mags in this theatre?

  • @houyt69 Marines were still using older hardware.

  • @houyt69 They were from WW1

  • @houyt69 it really depends, considering that the US was in a hurry to deploy its forces, many soldiers got old equipment, so not everyone got air cooled machine guns and wartime Thompsons with stick mags.

  • @houyt69 Because they were using the older, non-updated hardware. By this time they had not yet received M1A1 Thompson and still had the M1928A1, which could accept drum magazines. The M1A1 could not, hence why you see the drum magazines in the first place.

  • @TaZ101SAGA So did they have ammo pouches for the drums? Everything else about this I understand, it's just that they rarely show them reloading in this. By the way, my uncle's a former WWII German Wehrmacht reenactor so I do know about WWII weaponry.

  • @Transformers2themax Respect to your uncle, German Infantry weapons were some of the best in my opinion. However, I can not answer your question.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Well, thanks at least for the reply. Yeah, he has two K98s that were used, one particular being from Stalingrad.

  • @425jeonsa moron

  • @425jeonsa Well the Japanese had a different code of warfare. To them it was dishonorable to surrender to the enemy and they would rather die then surrender. Also the wounded soldier blew up the medic since it too was dishonorable to receive aid from the enemy

  • @Tinyunknown so what? they do that, and the americans enjoy slaughtering the pigs they were.

  • @Tinyunknown The flaw of mankind. Sometimes people should think for themselves instead of doing whatever the emperor wants.

  • this is an awesome scene

  • ur audios off dude

  • Anybody that feels bad for the Japs, watch on Youtube "Nanking City of Life and Death." Its about the Rape of Nanking. These soldiers that were here on the Tenaru charging our guys were the ones doing that horrible stuff. They were apart of the unit that did the rape of nankingand the Rape of Manila(Invasion of the Philippines). Then watch this video. Karma is a bitch as this unit found out.

  • Waauw I think its a nobel job of that american soldier killing that last japanese because he finds it sad for him that the other soldiers toying with him. I dont think either one of us would really understand the pain and fear that people feld back that time. its totally different than playing team deathmatch. Greetz from the Netherlands

  • holy fuck... If I was there I would be shitting myself

  • amrican "hero"

  • @uryakant919 *American

  • /watch?v=Sn2OHcPT2_M&feature=fvwrel

  • 2 things 1. This is y Americans killed wounded japs. They always thought they would blow them up with a grenade. 2. A great example of how Americans also did some bad things 2 japs. They were using tht jap for their amusement. If u heard at the end after Leckie killed the jap, a marine said "what'd u do tht for?"

  • @425jeonsa not cool man. don't insult about the earthquake, it's like him insulting about the recient tornadoes in the American west

  • @425jeonsa rules of engagement work on small scales, and mostly when civilians are around. in war, you should do everything thing you can to get the win. im not saying it was right to mutilate dead bodies, but shooting the enemies medics makes alot of sense, not only will he die, but he wont be around to put other injured people back into the fight.

  • @TheMarokii The Germans had the heart not to shoot medics. Wounded (not injured) people usually don't get back in the fight, especially during that time period.

  • @SmittySmitha so they dont get back in the fight immediately, lots of injured people eventually returned to combat after healing up. wouldnt it be smarter to kill the guy who is bringing soldiers you tried to kill back from the edge and getting them better so they can kill you, or your friends later on, then to let him go about his business. yes medics were doing a noble thing trying to save lives, dont forget usually they are trying to save your enemies lives, not yours.

  • @425jeonsa so did the americans

  • Damn, I'm grateful I wasn't born in that time period. Then again the one I'm living in now isn't so great either lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Poor japanese guy..wish they just killed right quick.

  • What's sickening is that the poor man was yelling at them to kill him. He felt disgraced by not being able to fight back. He kept yelling, "Come on! Do it!" if I'm not mistaken.

  • COMPLETELY understandable. at some point in every mans life paralyzing fear morphs into blinding irrational rage.

  • I read sledgehammers book

  • @xtan451 This is Leckie, buddy.

  • btw I'm not saying I hate world at war, I love that game because it's the last call of duty game they made where you were just a soldier instead of the super hero stopping the bad guy with the private army or some crap and it was historically accurate. I'm just sick of people that assume they know war history becasue they play call of duty

  • we won the war. When yet we're all human and we can all be cruel, sick fucks who enjoy watching others suffer.

  • It's the thing most people don't realize is anyone can be a sick fuck in war. We always hear about the japanese nailing our dead to trees or (for all you stupid CoD fanboys who love world at war for the game and don't know shit about the history) the boys of Carlson's Raiders who got taken captive after the raid on Makin Atoll were beheaded, but we could be just as cruel to them as they could to us. The only reason in history class why you never hear about our soldiers doing this is because

  • I like war games. Most of u agree with this. But the last minute or so of this scarred me in ways u can't imagine. I can't ever play cod Withought the idea of how ppl were tortured and sluatered coming to mind every couple minutes. Don't u agree with this.

  • @thedory108 during WWII the japanese where led to believe that the americans would commit atrocities to you if you were captured

  • we will never forget. taunt and jeer all you want. we will never forget.

  • @2channelistofthesun If I'm correct Japan did some pretty cruel things to the American Soldiers as well. This is NOT a biased opinion as I'm English (We mostly fought the Nazi's rather than the Japanese)

  • @Kalashnikov3395 cruel thing? like blind bombing on every major city of Japan and Germany? or Bengal famine of 1943?

  • @2channelistofthesun Germany and Japan started it off, America and England wanted to stay out of the war but Japan as well as Germany got greedy and bit off more they can chew

  • @Kalashnikov3395 which country on the earth declared a war against Germany in the first place? which county subsidized the Japanese enemy before Pearl Harbor thing? Stay out of the war is not nice expression. But anyway, even today, 66 years after ww2, they love to make this kind of "our war is just" crap. I see American peepal are losing their confidence thus this crap probably gives them some solace.

  • i love war films, But this one is really hurt me! Dont know why!

  • Those guys were cruel for taunting the japanese guy, but the japanese were crazy they ran into strait machine gun fire than when medics came they pulled the pins out of grenades and killed the marines and themselves.\

  • @thedory108 not crazy, you must be innocent as fuck not to understand

  • @thedory108

Cruel? Yes of course, but considering the things the Japanese did to their enemies was on a completely different scale. Here's a sickening fact; Japanese soldiers would sometimes rape American POW's.

  • FUCKING YELLOW MONKEY

  • FUCKING YELLOW MONKEY

  • I believe in world peace, one well placed shot at a time...... SEMPER FI DO OR DIE

  • I believe in ammunition SEMPER FI DO OR DIE.......KILL EM ALL

  • @DemoDick115 you are a stupid monster

  • I believe in ammunition SEMPER FI DO OR DIE

  • Phim dàn dựng rất hay ,nội dung cũng sâu sắc

  • That soldier that shot him last wasnt being cruel he was showing mercy by ending his pain.

  • Man. That poor japanese guy and all of those who fought in WW2. Both axis and allies. They were all young men who were just fighting for their country bravely. Few men have the courage that they all had. War is hell.

  • General Robert E. Lee - "It is well that war is so terrible - otherwise we would grow too fond of it."

    -WP

  • The Pacific was a damn good series. I dare to say better than band of brothers or saving private ryan. the war scenes were nuts and scary as shit, but close to real.

  • what does a bunch of men who had nothing to do with the original problem killing eeachother solve? so, whoever kills more wins, then we forget what caused the war? how fucking stupid.

  • wow so in way the japs were harder even though the germans had suprior weapons or were they both the same i guess the germans like if u agree

  • 4:09 was true in Guadalcanal and later called Red Beach bcos of the blood polluting wide area of the beach

6:39 is not true...bcos i dont know if a pistol round can fly from one end of the river to the other end bcos in real life the creek is really wide

  • 4:09 was true in Guadalcanal and later called Red Beach bcos of the blood polluting wide area of the beach

  • shitty quality

  • wow they sholdve at least took the jap as a prisoner

  • @TheGamesNETWORK wow apparently you didn't see what the jap at 5:27 did. the japs were deceitful and would never want to be taken prisoner. Towards the end of the war some japs started surrendering, but early on it was fight to the death.

  • Strange. When the germans did that, it was a war crime. When allies did this it was needed or fun.

  • the ending of this is sad :(

  • Don't know why but when a Jap commits suicide he always screams 'Tenno Heika Banzai'...

  • @jeremyde1ste its like their culture idk search on wikipedia

  • now i kno why my grandpa screams at me when i play call of duty..... especially the ending

  • i feel really bad for that jap at the end ust toyin with

  • They only tortured him because of what they did to there fellow soldiers

  • they should ov jusr headshoted the japanese guy at the end not tourtre him like that what happend to the juniva convention

  • In war you will come to dehumanize and hate your enemy. This is not specific to any race, culture, or creed it's universal. Look at any lengthy war ever fought and you will see actions like the marines did on both sides.

  • god damn, it doesn't matter if they're japanese, american, german, whatever. atrocities like this in war are just heartbreaking. pretty powerful scene, tied my stomach in knots when i watched it.
