Haha I'm not sure. Anyway regarding the rifles I'd say that it's a small error; I certainly didn't notice it and I can't believe that many did. The 'crickets' in BoB could have been better too, but don't lose sight of the wood for the trees.

Haha I'm not sure. Anyway regarding the rifles I'd say that it's a small error; I certainly didn't notice it and I can't believe that many did. The 'crickets' in BoB could have been better too, but don't lose sight of the wood for the trees.

@2210ethan they did a excellent job autheticity wise they even have the correct depot made haversacks for the canal and hawley liners the only other error is the safety on the m1 carbines is rotary when it should be push button

For sure, I also think they did a good job. I think I slightly prefer Band of Brothers but I think it's probably an easier story to depict with a tv series.

@2210ethan they had m1903 springfields but NOT m1903a3 this early in the war the diffrence is in the handguard and rear sight which is a peep sight much like later production ramped carbine sights vs. the m1903,m1903a1 where it was a folding leaf sight.i have gone through thousands of pics an i have never once seen a marine in wwii useing a m190a3,they were 1st produced in 42',but to my knowledge the 1st documented use was by the 3rd ranger battalion in sicily july 1943.

people always act like the allies were the good guys and overlooks the fact that realy it was the action of a few twised individuals that caused the war and besides both sides commited attrocities like the allied carpet bombing of germen cities or the atomic bombs on Hiroshima a city full of civillians or the Nazi death camps, just look at it this way there was no good or bad side just good or bad people

While it's true that both sides committed atrocities, you can't rule out the fact that the allies pursued peace and wanted to put an end to the war. Ultimately, it was the axis side that committed more horrendous acts though. The Americans want to land their expeditionary forces on mainland Japan, but in all the Japanese Emperors cunning wisdom, he had brainwashed everyone to fight to the last man, including civilians. I could go on & on about the disgusting things they have done.

Well now you've just contradicted yourself. Anyways, well it certainly makes them the good guys if the conclusion/outcome of the war was peace. The allies invaded, moved in and dismantled the power of all axis parties. The axis certainly never dismantled anything except invade and occupy for their own interests!

@Cayden1986 I would like to point out that I didn't say I would prefer the axis world order but I will have to say I prefer the allied world, however in the event of an axis victory I would not have the same opinion and if the war ended in an axis victory there would be no Hitler bloodline as Hitler only got married because he thought that the Rusiians would kill him.

@houyt69 it really depends, considering that the US was in a hurry to deploy its forces, many soldiers got old equipment, so not everyone got air cooled machine guns and wartime Thompsons with stick mags.

@houyt69 Because they were using the older, non-updated hardware. By this time they had not yet received M1A1 Thompson and still had the M1928A1, which could accept drum magazines. The M1A1 could not, hence why you see the drum magazines in the first place.

@425jeonsa Well the Japanese had a different code of warfare. To them it was dishonorable to surrender to the enemy and they would rather die then surrender. Also the wounded soldier blew up the medic since it too was dishonorable to receive aid from the enemy

@425jeonsa rules of engagement work on small scales, and mostly when civilians are around. in war, you should do everything thing you can to get the win. im not saying it was right to mutilate dead bodies, but shooting the enemies medics makes alot of sense, not only will he die, but he wont be around to put other injured people back into the fight.

@SmittySmitha so they dont get back in the fight immediately, lots of injured people eventually returned to combat after healing up. wouldnt it be smarter to kill the guy who is bringing soldiers you tried to kill back from the edge and getting them better so they can kill you, or your friends later on, then to let him go about his business. yes medics were doing a noble thing trying to save lives, dont forget usually they are trying to save your enemies lives, not yours.

In war you will come to dehumanize and hate your enemy. This is not specific to any race, culture, or creed it's universal. Look at any lengthy war ever fought and you will see actions like the marines did on both sides.
