In 2 weeks, my power company is going to install 28 wind turbines, and some solar panels less than a mile behind my house. The power company promises us that the energy will be clean energy, and will cost us less over the next 30 years. They said that because of the upcoming carbon tax, the turbines will produce electricity at a lower cost than nuclear, or coal burning. President Obama and other Democrats are on the right track!!!
If this is the case your in an area where wind power will work and the private sector has had this in the works for a while at no cost to you. Still carbon capture and storage technology will not be availible for 15 to 20 years. This bill reduces global warming by 0.07 of a degree by 2050. Don't you think in this bad economic time it would be far better to wait for the technology then to hurt the economy more, cost jobs and raise prices on every American? THIS BILL IS A FARCE.

Wind turbines are being installed close to where I live. The power company promises, lower electricity costs, less maintenance, cleaner air. Test generators backed up all their claims!! The repubs have put this country in all the varied messes we are in, it is up to President Obama to fix it. And I think that he is doing a fantastic job so far.
Turbines are fine if you have the access to the wind and real estate on which to install them. Otherwise you have big transmission losses to get it anywhere else. Here in the East it's not too feasible...the same w/ large solar installs

1-Nuclear is the most efficient. 2-Wind is only applicable in certain geographic areas. As with geogrphic-specific technologies, to tranmit the power to other areas would incur transmission line losses. BTW-I never stated that nuclear is the "be all"..those are your words. There has never been an accident in the U.S. regarding Nuclear waste during transportation. The Transportation Dept has a video you can view of one of ther transportation containers being hit by a train, blown up, hit by another truck ect. None of the containers leaked. The other thing we really need to do quickly is start farming alot of these endangered species. If we started farming tigers and elephants they we would have to worry about them becoming extinct. The farmers would feed and protect them.

In 2 weeks, my power company is going to install 28 wind turbines, and some solar panels less than a mile behind my house. The power company promises us that the energy will be clean energy, and will cost us less over the next 30 years. They said that because of the upcoming carbon tax, the turbines will produce electricity at a lower cost than nuclear, or coal burning. President Obama and other Democrats are on the right track!!!

Wind turbines are being installed close to where I live. The power company promises, lower electricity costs, less maintenance, cleaner air. Test generators backed up all their claims!! Also, I believe this bill will create a net gain in jobs, and besides reducing the emissions of greenhouse gasses, it also reduces our dependence on oil. Too much money is going to certain oligarchs in the mideast because of our dependence on oil, so it I believe it is a smart decision to free ourselves from this. That is what I believe, and I don't boast to be infallible, but that is the decision I have arrived on.
