  • "That's part of football" exactely!!! That was a clean hit, no helmet to helmet. UW is proud of you Foster!

  • What were the flags for....

  • FUCKING WRECKED!!!

  • this is why i hate watching the nfl...the fact that he got fined for that is just ridiculous, this is why these guys get payed millions of dollars and why we tune it to watch games every sunday, so that they will legally beat the shit out of each other....enough with all the hit fines

  • NFL is getting soft.Hell in CFL this is legal. They get payed less too the players up north.Fuck Goodell

  • F'ing stupid penalty and fine. I like how Ocho said he's pay the fine. That's 'cuz he knows it was bullshit!

  • Funny thing is Chad said he would pay Mason Foster back if he ever got fined.

  • it's football! know the risk when you sign the contract!

  • OCHOOOOOOOOOOOO - STINKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • That's how they do it in Seaside, CA

  • Clean hit THIS IS THE NFL now quit CRYING and GET OVER IT

  • I've stopped watching the NFL mostly because of this. Two games were decided by bogus hit flags last year, Dolphin-Jets and Bears-Lions. Going back to illegal touching rule, and the Justin Tuck hit in 2009 on Romo

  • Clean Hit!!!

  • chad youve earned my respect for being a man, paying fosters fine, not being a pussy, and playing football like a msn should

  • KUDOS to you, ochocinco, for paying this mans fine and giving roger goodell a good ole fuck you

  • this is serious bullshit. whats next, the recievers have flags on the belts that the defense has to pull? this is the NFL, not the MLS. its sad to see that this great physical game is being turned into a pussy league where any hard hit is rewarded by a fine from the commisioner... fuck. the defensless reciever rule is fucking horrible. excuse my french.

  • I can kind of see where the fine came from(defenseless receiver, etc.), but the way i saw this he put his shoulder/arm right in ochocinco's chest. Just looked like a pretty good hit, brady needs to not hang his guys out to dry like that though.

  • lol the top comments are funny.

Basically, it wouldn't be a penalty if he didnt get hit in the head. That's pretty much it. I know technically it's no leading with the head or shoulder pads, but as long as you're not spearing the guy or crashing into his face, it won't be a penalty. Quit bitching, it's a rule that keeps the players healthy.

  • He got the penalty and the fine, but give some respect to Ochocinco for manning up and saying that was a clean hit, even offering to pay the fine for the rookie who's just trying to make a good play.

  • You lost me NFL........bring the strike back, it'll be more exciting than watching zebras throwin' hankies and fixing games. Good bye!

  • The dumbest penalty is illegal blow to the head of a QB. I mean shit, HELLO! THAT'S WHAT A HELMET IS FOR!!!! it's not like slapping a QB in the helmet is going to concuss him.

  • Chad is a beast love him or hate him. Not too many people can get up right away from a hit like this and keep playing.

  • I can understand the penalty, with the referees being told to put an emphasis on helmet to helmet contact, on the fly this could have looked like helmet helmet. But on review, how did the fine come to be? Seriously? He didn't lead with his head, he lead with his shoulders, sure some helmet to helmet might have occurred but he lead with his shoulder. There was no pass interference and it was a clean hit and a great football play, Brady put him in that position, fine Brady!

  • "I think I made him shit himself"

  • Lightsabre, this is their choice to play, and they get paid MILLIONS! Stop being such a sensitive, girl scout bitch. Go watch competitive cheerleading.

  • UW Baby!

  • They fined him 20,000$ for the hit and Ochocinco is gonna reimburse Mason Foster for the hit...

  • That wasn't a dirty hit at all. Wow.

  • and we wonder why so many ex-NFL players have symptoms of dementia and other neurological issues in their 40s

  • @lightsabre5511 No, we don't wonder. That's why they put an emphasis on calling personal fouls on helmet to helmet, which this wasn't. Watch the slow replay, he lead with his shoulder. There might have been some slight helmet contact, but that's football. Obviously you didn't play much in school.

  • @UFGatorsFan27 he made contact with his head u dumb fuckin gaytor fan. it might not have been helmet to helmet but he definitely hit ochostinko's head

  • @v8americanpower1 Sweet story, bro. Read my comment. I clearly said there might have been some helmet contact but it isn't bad enough to call a personal foul. Pass 1st grade much?

  • @UFGatorsFan27 well then tell me how much contact is required to call a foul then? as the original poster said "and we wonder why so many ex-NFL players have symptoms of dementia". we now KNOW that cumulative concussions cause CTE dementia. you posted some retarded comment. get an education. learn how acceleration forces over 80 g placed on a moving or still head will cause your brain to shake in your cerebrospinal fluid causing a concussion. fuckin retarded rednecks

  • @v8americanpower1 Woah, bustin' out the knowledge. I'm so impressed! As I was saying, I understand the foul. In a spur of the moment play such as this, it looked like a typical helmet to helmet call. However, IN MY OPINION, after seeing the replay I don't think a foul was necessary, and especially not the fine. He lead with his shoulder, sure he had his head down a little, but his intent was not to hit him with his helmet. It's a clean hit on a crossing route where Brady left Chad out to dry.

  • @UFGatorsFan27 i'm glad you're impressed. but if it takes that little to impress you, then you're probably the typical dumbass fan who looks at every flag or fine for head contact hits and pisses his panties while raging like a babboon. the NFL is trying to phase out any head contact for a reason. because they know players are bigger and stronger than they were in the past and they'll have a shitload of alzheimers patients they'll have to pay treatment for in the future.

  • @v8americanpower1 Boy, you might just be the most condescending person I've ever had respond to me on YouTube. I'm not fighting about the phasing out of helmet to helmet hits, I am fully aware why they are trying to protect the players from them, I played, I know what it's like to be hit like that, it hurts. So I don't really see what you're trying to argue here...? And I love how you call me a redneck when your name is "v8americanpower", much more redneck than being a Florida fan.

  • @UFGatorsFan27 i've had 2 serious concussions and another minor one. i'm only 28 but i'm already forgetting things like names of people and where i put stuff around the house. i'm definitely worried what lies in my future.thats why i get mad when people bitch about fines for head contact.

  • @v8americanpower1 So you make the decision I made after sophomore high school year. . .DON'T PLAY FOOTBALL. Also, remember, its not receivers taking kill shots who suffer permanent damage. It's linemen who take hard blows on each play. That's the research.

  • @TheArenaRevised false info. mark duper, wayne chrebet and al toon all suffered brain damage. john mackey died from alzheimers. and these guys were well known pass catchers. what about the countless others who were lesser known? there's currently a lawsuit of 75 ex-players against the NFL for hiding information on concussions and neurological damage. this is just starting to hit the fan. more players are going to be coming out in the future as they develop dementia from brain trauma.

  • @v8americanpower1 Exceptions don't prove the rule, and Mackey was a tight end, which means he was more a blocker than a pass catcher in that era. He did not take shots in space. Watch the frontline doc "football high" the guys who show the worst effects are the ones who NEVER had concussions

  • @TheArenaRevised why does it appear that they "never had concussions"? because brain damage is cumulative. not only does each concussion kill neurons but they weaken axons by something called "diffuse axonal injury". meaning that it doesn't take much of a blow after a few concussions to shatter these weakened and already torn axons. so yes, they experience brain trauma, its just a lesser impact blow than what it would take to give a normal person a concussion.

  • @v8americanpower1 Totally understandable. No one said you couldn't feel the way you do, you attacked me for expressing my opinion. I never denied helmet contact occurred, I just didn't feel like it warranted a fine.

  • @UFGatorsFan27 you're an idiot

  • @lightsabre5511 Sweet comeback.

  • Instead of fining defenders for big hits, why can't Goodell fine receivers for running crossing routes infront of linebackers? Why can't Goodell fine QBs who throw to a receiver running a cross route into a zone occupied by the likes of Ray Lewis and James Harrison?

  • "Dad no disrespect but I don't agree with @mason_foster fine n I'll be reimbursing him personally," @Ochocinco.

    Classic Ocho.

  • I'm not a fan of either team, just of football. I agree with most..what are you suppose to do? Let him catch it? The defender has less than a second to determine if he's unprotected...then wouldn't the receivers always try to catch the ball like that so they won't get hit?

  • Bow down to Washington

  • the only people on the planet who think this is a penalty are the refs and the league office, makes little to no sense

  • Omg really national fairy league! He led with his shoulder! Might as well ask him nicely to go down and tag him.

  • Ocho offered to pay for this and he has just earned a lot of respect from me for that

  • he played football by my highschool probaly best player ever to come out of this area

  • but ochocinco is offering to pay the fine...he tweeted that the hit was "great"...how awesome is that?

  • Ochocinco said he's gonna reimburse Foster on the fine if he isn't granted an appeal. Good guy lol

  • Poor Foster, makes a clean shot and losed 20K out of his pocket

  • FUCKIN BULLSHIT!!! Great play ! Not a penalty, no fine. Play on

  • They need to spend a lot less time being defenseless if they want to play football. This is bullshit that was totally clean, no way to stop a tackle while it is happening.

  • i watch hockey. I have had it with football. The taunting, the dancing, the nonsense. I seems football doesn't know what it wants to be anymore. The rule should be... if you don't want your head knocked off, don't throw the ball over the middle. Simple no?

  • wait how is this a flag let alone a 20K fine fuckin nfl is retarded, soon we will see a 2 hand touch rule in effect for the 2012 season

  • Why is everyone hating saying it was a pussy hit? have any of you actually been hit like that?

  • your right MrSiiKez, its easy to hit someone when there already in the air, this aint no hit you yanks need to grow some nuts and take those pads and helmets off. watch NRL hits for some real tackles.

  • you got to protest that pussy shit !!

  • Didnt anyone else notice they threw bananas at him after that, fuck thats racist. Thats what soccer fans in European countries do to black players and make monkey sounds.

  • Lol I saw no huge hit. Take off the pads, take it on the chin spastic-features. Play rugby.

  • helmets? protective gears?? wtf?? play rugby you pussy yanks

  • @chriztafa Twat.

  • @GrimsAllure fucking idiot

  • @chriztafa 'Cept in rugby people only do wrestling takedown's and don't goive a real hit.

  • @mikeg9696 obviously you've never played rugby

  • @chriztafa Actually yes I've had, and nobody can hit someone hard because if you do they'll be just get up again, and if you use your head, where all the big shots come from, you will jack your face up. Rugby is way too disorganized, and one someone see's you coming they always give it to someone else. You sound foreign, have you ever played football?

  • @mikeg9696 i sound foreign?? before telling me what i sound like, read your comment again, it's full of mistakes! and yes i'm from NZ and we don't play american football here

  • @chriztafa Yes i know that i messed up my first comment. Sorry officer. I said you're foreign because rugby is played internationally, and football only in the states. So you're going to get a biased answer from the people who never played the other. And obviously I was right about you. I've played rugby, wrestling, mma, and football. All contact sports. And I can say for sure football has way more contact and usually has the biggest guys. It's hard to tell you this since you've never played FB.

  • @chriztafa The two sports require you to train differently. Rugby has a lot more sustained running, so a player needs to train a lot more cardio. Football is played in short bursts. So cardio takes a back seat to maximizing peak strength and speed. That's why football players are bigger, stronger and faster in general.

The above, combined with the fact that defenders sometime get clean hits while at a full sprint, sometimes on a guy sprinting towards him. That is why they hit harder

  • What the hell? Ok, americans, the rugby world cup is in just over 2 weeks time. Watch some of it so you can grow some balls...American Football Don't have NOTHING on Rugby! :D

  • @rebelliousnoob Fucking idiot.

  • I play rugby, but whoever thinks rugby is more rougher than this vid, doesn't know rugby.

  • @truckcompany completly agree!!

  • sit down.

  • Wow so much for a hit, this happens all the time in rugby. Bunch of american pussies.

  • @ThunderStruckBeast69 Considering that shoulder tackles are illegal in rugby I would say you're very wrong.

  • @Ethan314159 Theyre illegal but they still happen quite often and its not illegal if you make an attempt to use your arms and most of the time its also the main impact from the shoulder that does the impact. So before you try and correct me get your facts right bro.

  • free food

  • That was more like a collision.

Please don't use the word 'hit' unless

you've watched a bit of Rugby or even

    Rugby League bizbuzz2000.

  • where was the hit?

    play some rugby.

  • HAHAHAHAHA i remember this nigga mason foster. he graduated from my highschool. keep smackin them bro!

  • for a start why dont you bitches take off your padding and helmets and harden the fuck up

  • @bronny1234ful hahahahahaha the man, play Rugby League.

  • Great hit big DaWg! There is NOTHING illegal about this hit. It is shoulder pad not helmet. Great job Mr. Foster, keep up the good work!

  • i love the patriots and everything but in some way it did seem like it was a clean hit. the only reason i do believe they called it was because it was helmet to helmet. you simply cannot hit helmet to helmet anymore. there was enough room for him to had of tackled him from the waist instead, or simply dove in to hit him in the waist to knock him down. he clearly bent down to aim at his head, and you just cannot do that without getting called on it.

  • im going to start out by saying i hate the patriots, but that was a clean fucking hit. the nfl is starting to piss me off so much. that was a great hit. without the hit ochocinco would of caught the ball and ne would of gained 15+ yards. great hit

  • Damn. Clean. I agree with the comments here. What is he suppose to do in that situation? Let him catch the ball? Honestly. Stupid penalty. I know they want to lower the concussions and stuff, but it's something that comes with the game. You cant use your helmet now or lead with the shoulder wtff. Are they suppose to drop kick them or something?

  • @ginn3dolphins actually with all these rules. drop kicking does seem like its the only thing that is legal. is there anything in the rule book that says u cant lead with ur feet. because if not than i think we might have found a way more exciting tackling technique that is totally not against the rules. lol.

  • @ginn3dolphins It's getting a little silly with the rules now

  • @ginn3dolphins Leading with the shoulders has always been a no-no. They need to learn to arm tackle.

  • @ginn3dolphins call like this cost dolphins v. jets last year

  • @ginn3dolphins cuz too close hit so hard

  • NFL has gone soft.

  • beauty hit even ochocinco admitted that

poor kids just trying to make the team

  • This hit so so "Fine worthy" that chad has said if the Rookie LB is fined for the hit he will reimburse him for the total amout" this is just a rookie linebacker trying to make the team. it was a "bang bang" play but if you watch the shoulder hits first followed by the helmet.

  • Football is being ruined my pussies. Thats how you play the game

  • Chad is tough, he is NEVER afraid to go over the middle and take a big hit

that Penalty was a JOKE though!

  • Looked like a pointless hit to me :-/

  • U-DUB!

  • "Can't hit a defenseless receiver"?

If you can't hit him, what the hell are you supposed to do? Stop on a dime (even though you're probably sprinting as fast as you can to get to the receiver (or are already in the act of hitting him), wait, let the receiver make the catch, then hit him without letting either of your feet leave the ground or letting either of your helmets even graze each other's, even though you're supposed to hit with your shoulder, which is CONNECTED TO YOUR HEAD.

  • @PeytonBeastHillis thats understandable but you can grab them or wrap them up, he didnt NEED to drop his shoulder. but testosterone and adrenaline is flowing so in the same situation many of us would have done the same

  • @PeytonBeastHillis: According to the new rules from this offseason that's exactly what defenders are now expected to do. A game with the final score of 52-41 will no longer be considered a shootout of a game. That will be a typical game score with all the new rules literally preventing a defender from playing defense.

  • Helmet speared him.

    Fine is justified.

  • @JohnRisti Helmet spreared him?!?! you are kidding right...watch it frame for frame, helmet contact made well after shoulder, arm etc. Ever Ocha said it was a good hit, yet here you are, trying to sound all informed...lol

  • How was that player fined? Might as well play touch football.

  • NFL is becomin more pussy whipped evrey year...Might start watching RUGBY instead....

  • guys be real. you can still play real, hard hitting football without plays like this. i don't agree with a lot of the rule changes that the nfl has made but this is a good thing for the players, because a receiver going up for a ball can't protect himself and it would only be a matter of time before someone took a hit bad enough to paralyze or kill them.

  • @sircy909 You play the game knowing the risk, the dangers involved, etc. Being fined for getting hit hard would be ridiculous, especially when the player that took the hit thinks so also.

  • That was a weak hit and the lb shouldn't celebrate it. Chad takes some hits and keeps going.

  • It's all good though. Ochocinco said he would reimburse him if he was fined.

  • I don't think it was all that bad. Been plenty worse incidental hits in football, let alone plenty worse INTENTIONAL hits.

  • The NFL is a joke! I bet veterans are ashamed to be associated with the NFL

  • thats bullshit, if he didnt hit him he would have caught the ball, its obv in his hands being pulled into his stomach. What is the LB supposed to do, move out of the way???

  • Shoulder hit not helmet. Ref needs glasses or just watch the replay. If they shorten the amount of time spent viewing the replay it can be used more often without being a disruption.

  • clean hit
