  • Only Allah and His prophet can declare things as halal or haram. Most Music is not good but we have no right to say its haram. Prophet Muhammad didnt say its haram, he even allow music in wedding and eid.

  • @syazwankhan

The Messenger of Allaah (SAWS) said: “Among my ummah there will certainly be people who permit zinaa, silk, alcohol and musical instruments…” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari ta’leeqan, no. 5590; narrated as mawsool by al-Tabaraani and al-Bayhaqi. See al-Silsilah al-Saheehah by al-Albaani, 91).

  • @syazwankhan

Abu Umaamah (R.A.) said that the Messenger of Allaah (SAWS) said: "Do not sell singing slave women, do not buy them and do not teach them. There is nothing good in this trade, and their price is haraam. Concerning such things as this the aayah was revealed (interpretation of the meaning): ‘And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allaah…’ [Luqmaan 31:6].” (Hasan hadeeth)

  • @ucandoit2009Ibn `Abbas said: `Aishah gave a girl relative of hers in marriage

to a man of the Ansar. The Prophet (peace be on him) came and

asked, "Did you send a singer along with her?"

    "No," said `Aishah.

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) then said, "The Ansar are a people

who love poetry. You should have sent along someone who would

sing, `Here we come, to you we come, greet us as we greet you.'"

[Reported by Ibn Majah.] Its so confusing, some say its allowed some say its not

  • @ucandoit2009 bro, all the hadith that are against singing and music are weak. I agree that mainstream Music nowadays are haram because of the sinful lyrics. But nasheed like maher zain is not haram, there are guitars and piano in his music too. The instrument dont make the music haram but its the lyrics.

  • @syazwankhan

Sorry but may I ask who exactly considers these Ahadith to be weak? And I mean from the people of Ahlu Sunnah? How come then, that all 4 schools of thought are agreed that music is haram? I would appreciate if you could come up with some proofs...

Al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: The four madhhabs are agreed that all musical instruments are haraam. (al-Saheehah, 1/145).

  • @ucandoit2009 brother, the hadith that declare music as haram which is narrated by Hisham Ibn `Ammar is declared ‘weak' by many scholars of the Science of Hadith Methodology. Although the hadith is in Sahih Al-Bukhari, its chain of transmission is not connected to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and this invalidates its authenticity. Peace. Do reply if im wrong.

  • @syazwankhan Since I don't know which Hadith u meant exactly and who these "many scholars" are, and since I am not a scholar, nor a person who is in authority to pass a judgment on this matter, I cannot tell whether u r right or wrong! But what I'm doing is refering to those who know, and scholars of all 4 schools agreed on music to be haram, among which the hanafis are the strictest. How do you explain that? If you want I'll post the statements of scholars from the different madhabs for you

  • @ucandoit2009 Please post statements from Shafi'ie madhab. I follow that madhab but I havent heard anything mentioned about music. Thanks.

  • @syazwankhan Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimu'Allah) said, explaining the view of Imam al-Shaafa'i: His companions who know his madhhab (point of view) stated that it is haram and denounced those who said that he permitted it. (Ighaathat al-Lahfaan, 1/425).

The author of Kifaayat al-Akhbaar, who was one of the Shaafa’is, counted musical instruments such as flutes and others, as being munkar (evil), and the one who is present (where they are being played) should denounce them (Kifaayat al-Akhbar, 2/128).

  • @ucandoit2009 I still dont see anything wrong with music. Islam makes sense. Everything is clear and straight forward. There are also scholars who made a fatwa that says music is not haram as long as it doesnt have any SINFUL LYRIC. Music is a part of human instinct. Im still confident Islam is not against it. Allah knows best.

  • @syazwankhan Honestly, I do believe it's haram because it puts in us Unnecessary feelings and emotions. Regardless if the lyrics may seem to be "non-sinful". I do agree with you that scholars say it's not haram based on lyrics, but there are also scholars who says it's haram, regardless of lyrics. Either way, Allah does know best, and I wish you the best as well.

  • @syazwankhan Al-Baghawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) stated in a fatwa that it is haraam to sell all kinds of musical instruments such as mandolins, flutes, etc. Then he said: If the images are erased and the musical instruments are altered, then it is permissible to sell their parts, whether they are silver, iron, wood or whatever. (Sharh al-Sunnah, 8/28)

This is what I found concerning the Shafi'i's, and anyway Allah knows best. Wish you a nice last 10 days of Ramadan, Inshallah! Salam..

  • @syazwankhan Al-Tabari said: The scholars of all regions are agreed that singing is makrooh and should be prevented. Although Ibraaheem ibn Sa’d and ‘Ubayd-Allaah al-‘Anbari differed from the majority, (it should be noted that) the Messenger of Allah (Saws) said: “Adhere to the majority.” And whoever dies differing from the majority, dies as a jaahili. (Tafseer al-Qurtubi, 14/56).

In earlier generations, the word “makrooh” was used to mean haram, then it took on the meaning of “disliked”...

  • @syazwankhan brother come to sense, music is haram, it has been forbidden by prophete (S) music takes you away from the love of Allah (SWt) and it lead's you in to evil. when some thing is haram in islam should declare it haram. as a muslim it's our duty to forbid evil and enjoin good.

  • @javed119 if music is haram why Prophet Muhammad SAW allowed the ansar to play music in the day of the eid. its in bukhari/muslim hadith brother. its not the music thats haram, its the lyrics that make the music haram.

  • @syazwankhan listen brother the prophet never allowed music, that wasent music, that's called daaf, which you allowed to do it when you have happy occasion's. to day it is a deferent music, you tell me ! that rock, music, pop music, rap music and r & b music is halal? the people who are making this music are the fallower of satan themself. music lead's u to nothing but in to teptation, and evil. music is a mind conrol, they are controling the mind's of mass of people

  • @javed119 yes most maintream music is haraam because of the sinful lyrics. but the musical instrument itself is not haraam. daaf, is a musical instrument btw brother.

  • I like this very much. Indeed Islam tells us to choose the middle way. Being obsessed with something or thinking about it a lot, is like ecstasy or in other words intoxication. Anything that takes us away from God, His remembrance or from having to do any good in your life is bad for you. I am very glad that he left his past for the better future. Alhamdolillah!

  • @ImamTime Kill all muslim scum

  • @biggerturtle If you keep hatred in your heart then you can't progress. Killing innocent people is the same ideology of those who are the enemies of the human race! Peace!

  • @ImamTime Peace to you also brother But when certain Iranians like Ahmajinedad say very clearly they want to kill me and my family because "all Jews should die" I will fight back One of my very best friends is Persian ; he and I agree about virtually everything in life You are right that hatred just to hate is wrong; however if someone wants to kill my daughters just because they are Jewish I will protect and defend them to the end. I am sure you would do the same for your family

  • @biggerturtle What, are all the Jews following me? lol sorry brother i had this conversation with many Jewish Brothers and they all have this same thing to say. Defending yourself is allowed in Islam and of course the sensible thing to do. If some people have hatred for anyone then we should not make the mistake of judging the whole nation/race/religion etc. by the actions of those few, that's where most people fail and make mistake. I hope you wouldn't do that.

  • @ImamTime Like I said one of my very best friends is Persian > I judge the person not the race or religion; and for what it's worth I know some bad Jews whom I dislike. I believe most people, regardless of origin, are kind and have good and peaceful souls; unfortunately there are more than a few scumbags out there who mess things up for the rest of us. It has , is and will always be that way. I wish it could be different. Anyway, peace to you and have a godd Father's day

  • @biggerturtle "good"

  • @biggerturtle For a moment I thought it was God Fathers day hmmm no just kidding but your original comment to me that no matter who your friend is you wouldn't mind killing all the Muslims as you said yourself. That's why I said and thought you are judging us all because of those few. There are good and bad people in every place, but it is our duty not to judge them due to another persons actions. Peace & Blessings and have a wonderful Fathers day with your dad (and family :)) Shalom!
