i could have cried whatching this, and just to back up what peeps are saying dondi was NOT gay ( NOT that it matters in any way shape or form ) we lost a beutiful soul when he left us,,r.i.p king dondi...
Yo enough with whether he was gay or not that shit don't matter DONDI is a legend and should be treated with respect. Learn more about graff fake ass toys
Always a style master, his styles where so advanced, I'd love to have been born the right time and the right city to just witness a Dondi panel, or one of his whole cars, (children of the Grave) come in to a Station etc. Thank god his work was documented.. A true King. I don't care about his sexuality or anyone else's. His artwork is important to me RIP King Dondi..pZ
AIDS is FUCKED UP. This is a good interview. It shows a human and humble side of DONDI. I met him a few times in Brooklyn through a mutual friend, NOC 167. You had a lot of guys who could do "real" wildstyle burners, but there was something magical about a Dondi piece. DONDI RIP!
Not sure how he got AIDS. But he was close to Zephyr (who is an overt homosexual). Allot of graffiti writers in NYC were closet gay-boys. Not sure if Dondi was one.
@fnkdrmmr Zephyr sounds gay (and like a NY Jew) but I remember he did date a girl (Shmad) I knew for a few years and I overheard him talking about girls he had.
Audio brings his voice alive today as is his work. Personally he was a brother to me. I am honored to have known and learn from Dondi White. Big ups to Zeph. Belated birthday wishes to Dondi.
It's cool to hear the history behind some of the finest, you learn alot about the type of people that do this which shows why you wourself is doing it, and you gain a respect for these people because they created everything, a simple, a bomb, a tag, a piece, trains, clothes, rackin', hell we'd be in the stone age of graffiti if not for these guys.
