The tarot wasn't really designed for occultism in the first place. It was originally made for a card game which is still played mostly in Europe. Long after the appearance of tarot cards, occultists would later make up their own meanings. The supposed occult meanings were something that was tacked on to something orignally meant for game playing.

I think it would be good to have a Tarot revolution as it would be good for cultural diversity if more people knew that the cards are used for actual games, but I don't think this is a good way of doing it. Hi, I absolutelly agree. We played a lot of tarot (in hungary it is called tarokk).
It is a very old and complicated game with a lot of symbols, and it is absolutelly FUN.
Tarot was used for divination only from the 18th century in english-speaking countries where the games were unknown.
Gipsies also did not bring the tarot into europe, simply because without reproduction printig it was too expensive for them...

I think it would be good to have a Tarot revolution as it would be good for cultural diversity if more people knew that the cards are used for actual games, but I don't think this is a good way of doing it. These McRoll Tarot videos might be alienating people we are trying to attract. Some Tarot players have said this on the gaming forums.
