Psychologically intriguing. The character of Jenny has Narcisstic Personality Disorder. Happiness elludes her - at least, in her mind it does. Ultimately she finds true love, but only through her own self-destruction. The final close-ups of of Miss Lamarr in this movie are as good as they get in film noir photography.
Superb film. Not a typical setting for a film noir. The acting here is subtle and convincing. Lamarr plays a complex seductress, more nuanced than the usual scheming women of this genre.
