  • Favorite Part (1:29-1:44),love the guitar. This is the extended closing theme.

  • I did not know this went into the 90's... wow... kids today, man.... they're missing out...

  • This is the extended version of the closing theme, the normal version doesn't have the extra guitar break.

  • 0:46

  • that asian chick does porn now.

  • When did this video of VHS broadcast?

  • The segments may be somewhat dated, but the theme song (opening and closing) so timeless...

  • from 1991

  • 2:04 The CPB logo looks trippy when dressed in red

  • One of the writers, Patricia Marx, wrote for SNL in 1980-81 and is the author of "Him Her Him Again The End of Him"

The studio producer and production manager, Deborah Sarjeant, ended up as a producer on Homicide: Life On The Street and Oz.

  • Thanks, now I just wish I could find the intro to the classroom contact series. Can't seem to find it anywhere!

  • I do have the clasroom contact series intro if you want it.

  • I would love to have it, and would be very grateful for it! I remember watching it when I was in 2nd grade I believe. I couldn't find any remnants of it online, so I began to think I was just going crazy about it's existence, until I found this clip with "classroom contact" at the end lol! :D

  • I remember watching a mid-80s episode of "3-2-1 Contact" during my Chemistry class in 11th grade (1999-2000) to explain a topic relevant to what we were learning (though the lesson escapes me). My whole class really enjoyed the episode.

I'm sure this program couldn't entertain high schoolers now the way it would have only a decade ago.

  • Really love this version of the closing!

  • This brings back suck GREAT memories. You can't help but watch this clips from our childhood, and giggle, laugh, smile or cry

  • 1980-1992 ("12 years") assuming 1992 was the final year it was on it's quite impressive for a Science Show.

the opening theme music is still very much in memory from when I saw it as a Kid and seeing how the opening graphics evolved over the 12 years it was on and finally knowing why so many Hosts were in it with the changing times etc.

  • This is where CPB is white

  • Did the "This is PBS" announcer also announce the videocassette advertisement right before it?

  • Stephanie Yu was an insufferable know-it-all. Actually, most of the V3.0 "kids" were pretty snotty- the show really jumped the shark after they did away with the classic meeting space arrangement. Nonetheless it's great seeing these clips here, thanks!

  • I have to agree. I like the first two sets of cast memebers myself.

  • I remember this show it ran as reruns on PBS up to 1996

  • @dinfg6 not 1996, it's up to about 2009 or about 2011

  • So much of this information and images are in the back of my head. I remember it all. Now I finally know where it all came from. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
