Thanks Pete. I heard this song last, when I studied history and we spoke about the battle at Gallipoli. I never heard it again, so thanks for reminding me of this great song. And your rendition is really a very nice one.
yea would love to, long time no see!we are coming back from a weekend in london and i have to be back to do a reading for the 'god squad' at 6pm so we can pick you both up at 8.15pm, if thats cool with you.
Wow, that was fantastic Pete! You did a terrific job of singing and playing this powerful and poignant song. I was mesmerized by the lyrics and the "Waltzing Matilda" at the end gave me chills! This song told quite a sad story of the tragedies of war. Your performance of this song was perfect, you really brought these lyrics to life! Outstanding work Pete! ... FrAnK (★★★★★ & ~Fave~)
Pete you are a master of these lovely folk songs, I love to hear you sing them. This one made the hairs on my neck stand up. BRAVO All the stars are yours.

WOW! What a pleasant surprise to see a new one! Pete, I think I have a new favorite song of yours! this is simply and wonderfully outstanding. By far the best version I have heard - save for perhaps Eric Bogle's. I guess I never really listened to the lyrics before, and I am thankful you posted them.
OK, I guess. We had 14 inches of snow dumped on us yesterday and the winds and cold came today. So a glass of warm brandy (or four) will be on the agenda this evening! :-)
Often when I remember WW1 I go to listen to your song.

Thank you Frank, I suppose it's the thing about folk songs that musically they tend to be quite simple but lyrically very powerful.
