@BDisBD Hopefully this video will give you some ideas - films are everywhere - go and read a newspaper or a magazine, there will be potential films all over the place. You've just got to open your eyes and be aware. Put your thinking hat on and start thinking in terms of what would make a good film, don't wait for the idea to come to you :) Hope this helps, all the best

I like movies and I would like to make movies as a career however my imagination is somewhat limited and I need to come up with original ideas. I don't want to get into trouble with copyright infringement. For example, I really like ET, Tron, A space odyssey, minority report, avatar, aliens, the matrix, star wars, and inception. So my question is can I still use the foundational concepts of these movies and make them my own story? i like video games and i don't want to copy Tron. so please reply

Anyways, it's a good question and I suppose the question is: what do you intend to do with the finished film? Is it for youtube to show mates or are you planning on selling it to a distributor? If you want to distribute, i'd advise staying away from other people's ideas but if it's for fun/practice then there's no problem at all. Let me know what your intentions are x

@REELOnlineFilmSchool my primary intention is to become a film-maker in hollywood. so i'd want to distribute the film. Like i said, i don't want to get into trouble, but if the idea was very subtle do you think it would be okay to use other ideas from other movies?

Im going to be making a movie that has to be less than 15 minutes long. Its for a Teen Film Festival. I have an introduction scene and an after scene but now I'm stuck. Any idea's how to get string out of a knot?

It really depends what you're film is about - the "middle" of your film is really the play time; you've set up your characters so people know who they are/what they are like and now something happens to them - surely how your film ends depends on what happens to them during the film itself? If you give me some more info i might be able to make some suggestions, but i'm sure you'll come up with something :) x

Well I liked your advice, but my real problem is that the idea and book I wrote is extremely science fiction, I'm talking a idea that will pwn star wars, but the problem is I can't seem to get a hold of anyone in hollywood to even look at it. If I even got one producer to glance at it the idea would sell itself.
