  • The argument that an innocent person might be put to death is the only argument I've heard that has any merit. However, more innocents have been murdered by escaped or released murderers. Do they not count?

To me the answer is to try to make the justice system better. Nothing is foolproof, but don't think for a minute that by abolishing the death penalty you'll be making a more just society.

  • fucking hell must be awful beeing locked up in a cell living each day thinking it will be your last, knowing you are innocent but every one else thinking you are guilty >.<

  • Rogue State Texas.

  • Idiotic comments. Of course this is argument against death penalty. You just believe, that anything can be proved, and that is exactly the statement discredited by scientists.

Tell me how come, that people believe they can win a lottery, by they don't believe they can be mistaken for a murderer and/or forced to plead guilty.

Seriously, you are just plain dumb and vengeful.

  • Carlton Gary to be executed today. The Absolute Guarantee to take effect,,,

  • The question here is not the death penalty. The issue is evidence collection being tightened up. is this video saying the thousands of cold blooded murderers who are 100% guilty should escape the DP?

  • the problem is people have no resources to clear there name. give each convict a million dollar budget to investigate since they can look out for themselves if they have the resources to do so

  • this is different to the death penalty to those who really are guilty. This could be used in a campaign for the innocent who have been condemned but doesn't really apply why the death penalty is bad.

  • aww thats sad

  • specialforces69-

who cares what color they are? if someone committed a heinous crime they should be executed. why do you try to pull the race card? it only proves you are racist.

  • i support the death penlty, but not in countries where they don't investigate properly and not in countries where they don't have proper rehab offers for criminals

  • Are you saying that the American system of "investigating" is properly done?

If so, then you sir have no idea what really goes on.

  • the american system of investigation is very poor, wich is why they should not have death penalty, wich is my point

  • The death Penalty is shit. That man who really killed the cop had to make a split second decision on whether or not to kill him. If HE was convicted, there would have been a huge build uup to his death and he would have known he was going to die every step of the way. The death penaly is the most cold blooded type of murder there is.

    Peace...

  • america is a murder. they kill people!it doesnt matter wether they're guilty or not, but hey kill them, and thats a crime, because only god may take away lifes!

  • don't bring god into this, he actually supports the death penalty.

Deuteronomy 13:1-10 (5 is where is actually says it, rest is context)

    Leviticus 20:27

    etc.

  • bastard!

moses had to write the ten commandments on stones you victim

  • @pyr666 How can you say that God supports deathpenalty? The Bibleverses you are referring too,is from The Old Testament! But after Jesus came and died for us,we do not have that law.In fact,we do not have any right to kill!!The Bible also say YOU SHALL NOT KILL!

  • @Hans021220

you shall not murder, actually. but that's from the old testament too.

not that it matters, mat 5:17-20 says the old stuff still applies. not to mention jesus had a habit of quoting the OT at his followers, and even at satan.

  • umm.. i dont get it

  • Texas executed Jose Medellin, a fuck that was convicted but thought he should get away because he was an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Mexico. He brutally raped and killed 2 teenage girls. The World Courts put a stay on the execution but Texas carried it out anyway.

    TEXAS IS THE SHIT.

  • that shit went down in a park about 2 miles from my home, when I was growing up. It was a terrorfifying crime and the fact it took this long to put him in the dirt was a travesty. The death penalty was created for people likie Medellin. Thank God, Texas recognizes the Supreme Court, not some "world court" which is inherently anti-death penatly and doesnt care a bit about the actual facts of the case or any justice for the victims families. Rest In Hell Jose Medellin.

  • Death Penalty is very insane.

  • He was beaten until confessed to the crime. Of course he's going to say that he did it, ANYTHING to make them stop. He was innocent, like a majority of the individuals put to the death. The DP needs to be abolished and before anybody says anything, I have a BA degree in Criminal Justice and work in the system.

    TEXAS IS THE SHIT.

  • tx killed! tx is a murderer!

  • his last words wer I am innocent, innocent, innocent. Make no mistake about this; I owe society nothing. Continue the struggle for human rights, helping those who are innocent, especially Mr. Graham. I am an innocent man, and something very wrong is taking place tonight. May God bless you all. I am ready.

  • Then why did he plead guilty to Rucker's murder?

  • you think an innocent man has never plead guilty?

  • Care to name one?

  • in Brown v. Mississippi, they confessed, were convicted, but it was later reversed.

    any number of coercion cases.

there was the case in tulia texas

  • Those were coerced CONFESSIONS, not guilty pleas. There is a difference. Also, none of those defendants were convicted because of any physical or eye witness evidence. In the Herrera case, there was physical evidence tieing him to the scene of Carisalez shooting and eye witness testimony tieing him to the Rucker shooting.

  • why should anyone trust what that man said?

  • Victory for abolition of the death penalty!

Gov. Perry of the State of Texas, Death Penalty Capital of the USA, has commuted the death sentence of Kenneth Foster who was scheduled for execution today. YES! Foster never killed anyone. Perry should listen to the calls for a moratorium in Texas!

  • they fail to mention leonel herrera had a confession note on him, and the reason he did get beat up when he was questioned was because he reached across the table and tried to strangle the assistant district attorney.

  • They also fail to mention that Rucker never testified, he was shot and died at the scene. Herrerra pled guilty to Rucker's murder and got life, while he got death for Carisalez' murder.

  • Don't forget to mention now who found this interesting note with confession written, could it have been the corrupt officers involved?? Just checking!!

  • Is this based on Leonel Herrera? If so you failed to mention that his car was used by the assailant in both murders and he pled guilty to the second murder. Also, his nephew alleged Leonel's brother was the killer in 92, a year before his execution, giving him ample reason to lie-to save his uncle's life. Also, with Leonel Herrera's brother dead he could not be questioned or brough up on charges.

  • mst3k4evr- you forgot to mention, the 4 hand pick juros, who knew the corrupt DPS officer, in court docket, not suppose to happen. the fact that the nephew did tell 3 police officer and 2 sherriff deputies that very morning, but was told never to repeat what he had said. do a little research, thanks..Leo's sister

  • wich car the police first looked for a green T-Bird...or the Grey Cougar...confusing huh?

  • Do even you believe the story that his brother, officer Rucker and the Sherrif were involved in a drug ring and the murders being a part of a drug deal gone wrong?

Better yet, if Lionel Herrera was innocent then why did he plead guilty in the Rucker case?

  • yes it was true, can you explain why the sheriff went to jail? or income records, for either of them? facts!

  • You wanna tell me why he plead guilty?

  • why don't you do some reaseach. my help, instead of having people tell you things...it's better to reaseach for yourself.

  • No seriously, why did he plead guilty?

  • I serious 2...do the research...u will be left with plenty to think about.

  • question...why are u some interested in my brother's case? are you involved, someone you know? strange you just want answers and you do not go and investigate....hum..

  • Given that you are convinced of his innocence i was expecting you to have some explanation or why he looks so guilty.

  • Given that you are convinced of his innocence i was expecting you to have some explanation on why he looks so guilty. What you seem to do is evade the questions. I don't really need to investigate, I believe in his guilt.

    Facts

    -He plead guilty

    -The killer drove his car

    -He was a drug dealer

  • i just want to know why you are SO interested...why do you not answer the questions...are you involved in any part this case? is that your reason for invading my questions? Must be, I do not rebuttle the fact that yes, they were in volved with corrupt cops and were dealing drug. everyone knew that. well, are you involved? or scared to answer...lol

  • No, I'm a firm believer in the death penalty, that is why this case interests me. I'm wondering why you avoid MY questions-don't like facing the truth?

  • no not scared of facing the truth, have faced it for 2 many years. what does bother me is people such as yourself, that do not accept corruption when it is as plain as the nose on your face. but like i said, research on your question, that you are wanting answers to.

  • who cares if the guy was a drug dealer? that's pretty damn irrelevant! anyway, great vid, very moving.

  • thank you bordelique...for your comment. Leo's sistet

  • well, what they failed to mention this was a dope dealer and a general bad guy to begin with.

  • who was this based on?

  • ....me

  • this is based on my brother Leo, who was not the murder, and the whole story of corruption with the law and everyone! thanks for your comment.

  • also that one cop was also a drug dealer...or is that ok with you? but thanks for you point of view...Leo's sister

  • so one drug dealer takes out another! Oops. sorry. should not have been doing that to begin with.

  • you are right ... the point is that the corruption on the law's side is not suppose to be an Oops! But everyone is in titled to their option, sad part is my innocent brother paid the ultimate price...with his life!

  • yea, thats what happens when the court makes a "mistake"

  • when the courts make mistakes, it's okay and we are suppose forget about it...I wounder how they would feel if one of the loved ones was given this treatment...thak you for you comment...Leo's sister

  • Great video!

  • I am glad you understood the meaning, thank you for your comment... on behalf of my brother Leo and myself. I finally full filled his last request...I wrote and got his story published.

  • that was moving

  • thank you birmadd...this was my brother.
