  • is this was the winner it makes you wonder what the others were like...

  • My word, seems to me there's more than a soupcon of sour grapes here. For goodness sake, the kid did his best, gave the performance he thought mattered & all I see are poisonous, toxic comments. And from WHOM,exactly? Top class theatre crticis maybe? I presume not!

  • leshoot a little bitter about how his/her life turned out? hmmm? Hollywood gave you the run around? I think so

  • @AudreyPunch Bahahaha I was a junior in Highschool when I commented on this. Nice try though, seriously.

Posting a harsh criticism is ultimately my right. This is an open forum, and that's my opinion, just as the blowing of sunshine up this guy's ass is the opinion of others, yet they've yet to be persecuted. I played this character, spent months devoting my time to understanding more about the events surrounding Matthew's murder. This just seems disrespectful, like reducing it all to a gimmick

  • I'm doing this speech for a speech competition too and I'm 12 any adivices?

  • i don't think you knew the emotion in it, Mr Shepard, He was really holding back his emotion, not exploding like you we're.

  • o dtasc my school just won this top 5 then next year 1st place gotta love acting

  • So much hate. Chillax people.

  • You butchered an emotional blackmail monologue! You can't do that! If you refuse to speak the true and complete words of Dennis Shepard, you shouldn't be saying them at all. Every word that man spoke had meaning, and to take those words away is to strip away a piece of Mathew Shepard from the world. The world needs Mathew Shepard to remind us. Next time you perform that monologue, use every word.

  • I happen to love your delivery and think you are very talented. *Leshoost is a self-conscious, 40 year old man, still living with his mother, wishing he had had the talent and willpower to do what you're doing. Congratulations, and I hope you continue doing well with your theatrical pursuit. God bless.

  • Your not gonna make it past community theatre, which is gonna ultimately force you to become a middle-aged highschool drama teacher, thus creating mini-versions of equally untalented Yous to go out and defecate on/sodomize/ejaculate all over the art of acting)

  • @LeShoost Thank god you watched my video and responded. What would I have done if someone like you hadn't responded in this way and given me such valuable life advice? You told me so many things that I didn't know, like the situation that the monologue is about. I would not have known that Matthew Shepard was beaten AND TORTURED. Thank you so much for emphasizing that. I am truly grateful for you enlightening words.

  • @LeShoost Also, I bet you are doing remarkable things with your life at the moment, so thanks for taking some time out of what I'm sure is a very busy schedule to comment four times on my 2 1/2 year old video! I really value the advice I receive from people who are doing great things with their lives.

Thanks again for your time, I really value your incredible insight! Oh, and thanks for favoriting my video!

  • (little sidenote, if you decide to be a douchebag and delete these, I could give two shits: your my main demographic. Seriously though, don't do anything moronic like devote your life to becoming a famous actor.

  • The guy who said this, the REAL PERSON who gave this speech in court, had his son beaten AND TORTURED to death by a homophobic scumbag piece of s@*t, and the best attempt at accurately portraying that was by mouth breathing while simultaneously curling both lips away from their respective orifice, as inhumanly far as possible? Christ, no friggin wonder up and coming actors get spit in the face.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Are you fuckin kidding me??? You have got to be THE worst over-actor I've ever seen in my entire life. Your "crying/pained expression" looked like a shored trout asphyxiating.

  • Omg these monologues were amazing! I especially loved your first one! It had me in tears! Brava! Brava!

  • mhmm....not good. just not good.

  • Hey, who here saw finals from this year?

  • I did. It was great. They picked a kid with curly hair this year also. haha

  • Do you know if anybody got a video of it?

  • They just uploaded a video of the AFI winners. Just type in DTASC 2009 and i think its the first vid.

  • omg i love this its the bomb! r u gonna go to dtasc in november on sat?

  • i was there when you performed this!

    it was my first DTASC.

    you were amazing...

i was one of the girls screaming during your second monologue =D

  • This really is awfull!!! . . . u hav a wanderfull voice and good dramatic emphasis goin on, but for god sake learn about your facial expressions proparly . . . also your not in a pantomime!!

  • Congratulations to Moises Kaufman, Venezuelans are doing their best.

  • awful

  • You. Are. So. FANTASTIC. I loved every moment of it. Great job. Oh, and I wanted to see the rest of your second monologue! I was dying for more! But it was cut off for some reason. I am a big fan of yours now!

  • I think this is very good! The Laramie Project of one of my favorites and you played it out very well.

And thank you for the Hesperia Props. I'm a Hesperian Alumni and we work hard for our trophies and a majority of the time we get a good run for our money. This pervious Fall Festi was terrible, poor Hesperia didn't take crap besides Tech. they should have worked harder, trophies aren't handed over on silver platters.

    Good JOB!!

  • God, this is so forced and awful.

  • THANK YOU!

  • @RJvideosyay hahahaha

  • I love how you delete all the bad comments, so you make yourself look better than you really are. Congrats.

  • i go to calabasas, and we try our very hardest for over 3 months to put these scenes together, sometimes we even get professional help from real actors, and we still lose to you knucklehead hesperians,

oh you just make me so gosh darn mad

you just make me want to yell out

    "ahhh"

there, you see, well oh well well beat you next time with our originality!!!

    haha bitches

choir chairs, 6 person harmonies and matching scene shirts!!!

    calabasas rules!!!!!

  • I appreciate the attempted insult, but unfortunately, it was ill aimed. I don't go to hesperia. I go to a small school called Wildwood. And we work for like one month to put together our scenes, and always do well. So, next time, just remember that hesperia aren't the only ones who win at DTASC. there are other schools who do well. And personally, I say go hesperia. They make incredible scenes, and most of the time, I think they deserve it when they win.

hope you enjoyed the video :)
