  • These videos are entertaining, but they're not really Caro-Kann games. These are just mainly examples of a white opponent who has absolutely no understanding of the opening dumping center pawns, which does not happen at higher levels. The Caro-Kann is actually much richer and more complicated than this.

  • I am sorry but are u playing with 1300?

  • ecspade, where did you learn the caro kann?

  • I kind of made up the variation I use on my own after a few years of trying out various things. I just read all kinds of chess books to study, although I don't have any on the Caro Kann specifically.

  • What about my question? I have been waiting patiently...

  • What software do you use to play? Can I have a free account?

  • Sorry!

I play on FICS using the BabasChess client.

  • Thanks

I tried the various clients and settled with Babasclient with the Fritz theme.

  • LOL Whats with the dog crying in the back EC?

  • Yeah my dog can't help himself if he sees a squirrel outside. He goes crazy and runs around and whines. After re-recording this video 5 times to try to get it to be under 10 minutes, make sense, and not have him whining, I gave up and posted the best one.

  • Just found your videos, I quite enjoy them. However I would disagree with what you said at the 3:20 mark. I don't think that "ultimately chess is about material" I used to think that way as well. My new philosophy is borrowed from IM Jeremy Silman, Ultimately chess is about imbalance.

  • Good vid ecspade! Maybe one day you could put that endgame in its own vid.
