I think what is so cool about this house is that it's not 2000s futuristic, it's 1960s futuristic. The designs are great.

I may be wrong, but the control panel that Jason indicates he doesn't know what it is, I BELIEVE is the control pane for the original outside staircase, which did in fact retract upwards and close. There was another video I saw a while back where the lady pointed that out, and if memory serves, there's an enclosure somewhere that contained the gears/hydraulics to do that.
