im a HUGE extreme fan and i never realized that Gary and Paul were the original members. I never knew an Extreme existed without Nuno. Thanks for posting!
The two original guitarists are named Peter Hunt and Hal Lebeaux. No, I don't know what they did since then. Nuno replaced them both and the rest is history.
Nuno and Pat had not joined the band yet. The bass player was Paul Mangone (sp?) and I dont know the 2 guitarists- they were VERY much replaced by Nuno. THe drummer is the original Paul Geary- who now manages the likes of godsmack.
@a6057 I don't really know the other guys in the band besides Gary and Nuno so I can only verify that Nuno definitely wasn't in The Dream. Of course, I'd say that wretched solo in the middle of the song can clarify that pretty quick. :-)
@brunus96 Well, it was either an early Extreme lineup or the original name of the band back then called The Dream. I remember it playing on V66 here in Boston labeled as Extreme so this video might have been shot just after the band name changed but I do know that the song itself was written when they were called The Dream.
@moondog926 no it was actually because abc had a new show called the dream and bought the rights to the name from them which allowed them to reproduce a lot of stuff with far better equipment which led to their success. I saw them many times at the Channel in Boston live. especially Gary Cherone hanging from the rafters...kinda gay actually, but whatever...still entertaining!
"Mutha Don't Wanna Go To School Today... I think I'd rather go outside and skip down the street." Wow! I grew up in the 80s and I really loved all the rock and metal from that time, but 80s videos were ridiculous. Btw, does anybody else think that Gary might have been channelling a bit too much of Paul Stanley in this vid?
@pkpkpkhed There was definitely some Paul Stanley in not only Gary's appearance but the sound of his voice as well. The videos of the 80's were definitely ridiculous and to add even more humor to it, one of the girls who's skipping at the end of the video loses her shoe and not only is it semi noticeable when it happens, but they replay some of those same skipping scenes a second time to fill the space and the same clip where she loses her shoe plays again. Talk about lack of detail.
@rockman66666 I kept looking to see the shoe fall off some girl in the video like you said, but couldn't see it. I loved their outfits back in the 80's. A lot of the girls back then dressed in those skimpy outfits with the short skirts, high heels and hose, which I miss these days. I was in my teens and was always walking around with a woody at rock shows, etc. just admiring those gals. lol And yeah.... he always reminded me of Paul Stanley!!

I think they were actually called The Dream still at this time, thus the new name when they changed personnel...Ex-Dream....Extreme.
