I think the criticism shouldn't put people off. It's fairly subjective. I've had some Australian friends who went to India and Pune specifically and loved it. Some people are interested in culture and different environments and other people have different travel priorities. More alternative/indie types would like India and more conservative folk might not dig it. But it is a pretty varied place and perhaps suits those who like food, art, culture, architecture and anthropology.

@chechnya it's all relative. I live in Australia which is much cleaner and life is much easier, but I love Pune. It's fairly easy going, the shops are awesome and there's a big college culture there so there's a big youth scene. It's not too bad. Some things need improving in terms of infrastructure, but there's progress.

@chechnya I was born there and moved to Dubai when I was a few months old. Then I moved back when I was five and then to Australia when I was seven. Not like I had a huge choice. I've been back four times since.

@chechnya I'm sure it's not that simple. Mexicans are just people, if they were unfortunate to come from a country rife with corruption and poverty it's not their fault on an individual level. I've pretty much grown up around white Australians so I fit in relatively easily, but it's harder if you grow up in a third/second world environment.

I can understand why people want to leave Mexico at the moment, the government is full of corrupt officials who work for well organised drug cartels who function like well oiled militant organisations. The average Mexican living in a high crime area probably doesn't want to stick around. Remember, a lot of the problems in Mexico stem from the huge drug market in the US.

@chechnya the situation in Egypt is entirely different. The problems in Mexico that I referred to centre around the drug trade. The issue in Egypt is more of a general political and economic one. Apples and oranges.

@Manseb Nah, it's really not as different as you say. Both have underlying political and economic issues. One side(Eyptians) are decided to take action while one side(Mexico) is not. Mexico has faced corruption and poverty for decades.

Good Video. But I never understand why foreigners are much interested to show poorty in India. Pune is known as a culteral city of monuments and IT, but nothing has been shown. It's just like that the way you think you see things. It's like travelling in foreign land and instead of taking pictures of beautifull scenes, taking pictures of roadside drugs or brownsugar vendor in foreign country.
