@omkar538 I absolutely agree with you!! They are trying to put India down because they are becoming one of the world's main powers! Well screw all those jealous people! Pune is a beautiful place!! :D
I think the criticism shouldn't put people off. It's fairly subjective. I've had some Australian friends who went to India and Pune specifically and loved it. Some people are interested in culture and different environments and other people have different travel priorities. More alternative/indie types would like India and more conservative folk might not dig it. But it is a pretty varied place and perhaps suits those who like food, art, culture, architecture and anthropology.
@chechnya it's all relative. I live in Australia which is much cleaner and life is much easier, but I love Pune. It's fairly easy going, the shops are awesome and there's a big college culture there so there's a big youth scene. It's not too bad. Some things need improving in terms of infrastructure, but there's progress.
@Manseb It's natives who move away are the problem. Smart enough to know it sucks, but you run away from a problem. Instead of help fixing the problem, you run away.
@chechnya I was born there and moved to Dubai when I was a few months old. Then I moved back when I was five and then to Australia when I was seven. Not like I had a huge choice. I've been back four times since.
@Manseb I feel the same way about Mexicans in the USA. They run away from a place that could truly be great. Instead of fixing it, they just run away and ruin our country(USA)
@chechnya I'm sure it's not that simple. Mexicans are just people, if they were unfortunate to come from a country rife with corruption and poverty it's not their fault on an individual level. I've pretty much grown up around white Australians so I fit in relatively easily, but it's harder if you grow up in a third/second world environment.
I can understand why people want to leave Mexico at the moment, the government is full of corrupt officials who work for well organised drug cartels who function like well oiled militant organisations. The average Mexican living in a high crime area probably doesn't want to stick around. Remember, a lot of the problems in Mexico stem from the huge drug market in the US.
@Manseb Typical, blame someone else for your problems. Take action like what they're doing in Egypt. Stand up and take control. Nope, Mexicans would rather just run away.
@chechnya the situation in Egypt is entirely different. The problems in Mexico that I referred to centre around the drug trade. The issue in Egypt is more of a general political and economic one. Apples and oranges.
@Manseb Nah, it's really not as different as you say. Both have underlying political and economic issues. One side(Eyptians) are decided to take action while one side(Mexico) is not. Mexico has faced corruption and poverty for decades.
Good Video. But I never understand why foreigners are much interested to show poorty in India. Pune is known as a culteral city of monuments and IT, but nothing has been shown. It's just like that the way you think you see things. It's like travelling in foreign land and instead of taking pictures of beautifull scenes, taking pictures of roadside drugs or brownsugar vendor in foreign country.
@navanaths Thank you for the comment. My time there was short and what you see is the majority of what I filmed while there. I hope to go back to India some time and capture these beautiful things you mention.
@navanaths That's because it's a shit hole. The video only lacks the horror of the slums.Poor souls living a hand to mouth existence while anyone with money ignores them. The bad thing is I've got to go back there soon.
@navanaths Hey....whatever is seen on this video is more than real Pune. And the hotel,LE MERIDIEN,is not cheap...so it just shows the difference between the poor people and the rich ones who go to hotels like this one....
Btw travelling in a foreign country doesnt mean just to see beautiful things, but also get to know how a country really is,by experience negative things...
@navanaths This false pride is what is bringing down India....This is real India (Today), dirty, and filthy. With trillions sitting in swiss banks, India could be the richest country in the world...but we are happy with a few things we have, and never take on the politicians who are responsible for such a state!
@divinegod123456 agreed and i was born in Pune. There's so much nationalistic bullshit and pointless patriotism and people just ignore the corruption and poverty.
@navanaths Mr. This poverty is real. Just because you aren't having to do gymnastics on roads, doesn't mean India is rich. We cannot ignore this poverty no more, we cannot cover up no more. We need to bring about a change, a real change. By closing yours and others' eyes to the reality, you are going to help no one.
Let's not become ignorant of the poor out there, let's work our asses off to change the picture!
Random Lame Joke: What do you call powdered orange drinks in this part of India? Pune Tang! Hhahahaaha, actually I'm sure a lot of you have already heard that one :/
hey m from Pune.. it has a lovely weather.. ofcourse, its upto u what to concentrate on, d positive side or d negative... it resides both d poor as wel as d millionaires..
its said, d one who can drive in Pune (Poona) can drive anywhere in d world..
i love my city.. even d poor wil greet u wid a smile..
Um...hello, all of India is poverty on the streets. That's the REAL India. I live in Pune and I see it everywhere. Those who like to "pretend" it doesn't exist or isn't a problem need to face reality.
absolutely awesome!! the rick ride was great!! Though I must say that you guys missed some great places :) Anyways, thanks guys, was missing home a lot here in UK :)
It's a good thing you didn't buy hat Gramophone....it's a fake. India specializes in making "genuine" gramophones from old, cheap phonograph parts. It's not worth $100. That guy would've made $900 off of a unsuspecting American!
foreigners travel in other country only b'coz they jst want to show how rich they are.. nothing else. they are interested to show poor ppl only.
