  • just a comment on the first two things on the list. You fastened your seat belts - Check But you just sat there and didn't show us where "the fuel shut-ff valve" was . You just continued! This is the best video i have found so far, so cool beans . But i'm after one with a lot more detail. cheers great vid bro

  • Name of the song please ? cool vid btw

  • @twistedbass15 Belly flop - Tom Quick

  • @dc8p07 Thanks very much :) I keep forgetting about shazam :-/

  • play a MFSX and u will know anything about helicopter

  • How fun.

  • I learned to play video games with my left hand because my favorite video game has always been Donkey Kong, and the joy stick is on the left and the jump button on the right. I am however right handed when I write... but whenever I play video games I play left handed because I have more dexterity. I was concerned this might mess me up with helicopters, but it did not. It does NOT matter if you are right or left handed! You just need to practice & build muscle memory. So no worries... just fly!

  • In Brazil we listen to the ATIS before we turn on the helicoptero.... Then we ask for gorund's permission to fire it up

  • Wow that R22 is in really good condition/clean, this is rare in a GA craft =P

  • Shouldn't it be a "Sprag" clutch?

  • @irishrover63 You are right! good catch...

  • ah damn i love everything that flies...

  • Kenwood set to 2/3 volume and banging

  • nice video, thanks!

  • I flew around in a helo myself (r44) a couple of days ago. Now i am addicted...gimme MORE:

  • I'm SURE they don't go through all of this in action movies when they steal helicopters off the top of buildings etc...

  • Before starting ,"Detent" maybe I missed it.

  • my instructor told me to watch this.

  • Oh for Pete's sake, just pull the chord to start the thing.

  • useful , i watch it the night before my flight , just to refresh :)

  • no sound???

  • I'm left-handed and have flown airplanes and helicopters large and small for over 40 years (18000+ hours). It makes no difference whether you write or do anything else left-handed. When you start flying you get shown which hand does what and that's how you continue. The first 10 of my 40+ years flying were as a military pilot, including airplane aerobatics. It never occurred to me while upside down that I might be using the "wrong" hand. Choppers are most fun, most difficult and expensive.

  • @knablim Are choppers more fun than flying aerobatics in airplanes?

  • The only time the collective, cyclic and foot pedals are installed in the left side are for training purposes, solo must be flown from the right seat due to C of G configuration (Robinson helicopters), bit sucky for a left hander. like chainsaws, only built for right handers.

  • @helifarmer1 If you have a passenger, you could fly from the left if you're that way inclined. But if you're solo, you've got to sit on the right due to the direction in which the blades spin. Because they spin anti-clockwise, it means the left skid is staying down, and if you're on the left side of the heli when this happens, you're most likely going to end up in a dynamic rollover.

  • collective by both seats.

  • not sound on this video !!!!!!!!!!

  • im left handed. all the videos i see the pilot is using his right hand for the cyclic. and his left hand usis the collective. is the collective only in the middle or is it on the left side of each seat. if so i would sit on the left seat and use the collective with my right hand in the middle of the 2 seats. am i right? or is it unsafe for the both of us to use the same collective? or is there only one collective all together?

  • Collective is always left handed.

As far as I know, havent seen anything else. :)

  • always left hand

  • Both seats have a collective lever on the left side. There is no way to change these controls around.

  • I think ALL Helicopters were designed for right handed people.. I remember a pilot telling me once. So there's no escaping the awkwardness really.

  • @ieuanhale I'm left-handed, and it wasn't a problem.

  • @TrueAiR Hmm, that's weird. But then again being left handed does not really mean it will definitely be awkward.

  • @ieuanhale I beg to differ. I think its an advantage being left handed. You can write things down and still maintain control...

  • @ieuanhale Lol I'm left handed and I have no problems flying, though starting out, it is very awkward.

  • @marvelmax03191 Yeah, but luckily me being right handed I don't have to put up with the epic awkwardness, and I pretty much thank the great Jehovah for that every time XD

  • @marvelmax03191 I'm content with thanking him for giving me, or should I say us, the skill to fly such a magnificent aircraft.

  • great video to stay close to start up procedure's, that list goes fast when your more familiar and at 40hours

  • Hey, you forgot to test the throttl full travel !!

  • engine working. stereo working. things at top going round. thats fine, lets go!

  • haha. let's see how long that check list last ya! Nice post.

  • No audio? It's like asking, "where's the beef?

  • Great vid - didn't know the Beta II were fitted with a 'sprang' clutch though - when did they start doing that? :-)

  • Thanks! Very good, but no audio? Would have been way better if we could hear you too.

  • Yeah - or just a note "no audio" I checked my computer audio for a few minutes before I looked down here.

  • thats a long ass checklist

  • a 757 is like 3 times longer

  • Good Job. Remember next time you raise the collective, close the throttle first.

  • Disagree with that, low RPM test is raise collective and roll off throttle

  • Sweeeeet!!!

Good job guy. Amazing it was coming all back.

Have not flown since Feb of this year.

Our school closed down. But I still remember all that.

    Thanks buddy

  • just feel my heart beating when watching, great!!

  • good vid. god i miss doing this
