@Nhia89 Its the same with other extreme metals, such as black/death metal, I cant listen to it at all, cant headbang, cant find whats good about it. I only like clean vocals in Doom, not the growls. You have to learn to love it, and if you cant then its not for you. Same with all music.

@Nhia89 Well whats the point of any music. Doom metal has origins that begin with Black Sabbath, Tony Iommy for the most part. Its a very old genre, starting in the early eightees as a recognised sub-genre. Bands like Cathedral made it independent and recognised, today there are different types of doom metal, Epic Doom, Traditional Doom, Funeral Doom, and Death/Drone Doom.

Actually, Warning's Watching From the distance album is not Funeral Doom..it's post-traditional doom. Their are no growls in that album so it is distinguishably not a Funeral doom album.

You don't seem to know what "screamo" is, either. Screamo is Pg.99, Saetia, and Orchid, not bands that scene kids like.

Bring Me the Horizon isn't "emo" either. Research that word. It really comes from "emotive hardcore," which was huge in the D.C. area in the early 1990s.

there's this epic doom, which is prob the most traditional that's big on the sabbath influence as well as power metal. and then there's stoner doom which really kinda varies depending on what band you listen to.

Allow me to introduce you to Funeral Doom; it's essentially a mix of doom, ambient, and death metal, played very very slow (slower than Doom/Death but not quite as slow as Drone), intended to create a "dream-like" atmosphere.

Traditional Doom Metal is essentially heavy metal in the style of Black Sabbath; dark, heavy, and utterly hopeless (lyrical-wise).
