Yeah like been like a year since my comment, but it's defiantly panned to the left. As for the discussion about auto-tune, it's used widely in industry but at low levels just to make everything pitch perfect. And again, if you literally cannot sing a note in the right key then it won't work for you, it simply tidy's up your sharps and flats and keeps it all in key, you need to have a rough idea of how singing works for it to work.

@MissMarieJessica it's a plugin for your daw. or digital audio interfface programs. it's not a machine. i'd reccomend you getting a demo of fl studio and then search google for a free demo of autotune and start using it :)

AutoTune is just a crutch for bad singers to lean on. It makes it harder for legit musicians to make it, mainly because you have this crap on the internet. I'll admit, AutoTune is good to help fix a pitch or two, and it sounds cool in some parts of a song, but you should never use it for your vocals throughout an entire track. It's a weak representation of your talent, or lack thereof.

actually you have to stay on tune pretty much to use auto-tune. It doesn't work miracles. If you can't sing, you can't use autotune. You have to be on tune. I once saw a video where T-pain is just singing normally (without auto-tune) and he can really sing!

But I do agree that people shouldn't use it all the time. It's fun for 1 song, but it sucks when they base their whole career on auto-tune

@DJMoonX3 no you cant, not with any version of autotune. with melodyne and waves tune you can, but the only way to get autotune to hit whatever note you want you need a midi keyboard. there isnt even an option in autotune to view what you sang, its not an editor like melodyne or waves tune.

it's not really too much to sta on tune, persay. it's more for the dramatic effect of the pitch changes that gives your singing a unique characteristic to it. :]
