@beehive41 "Hull Times, 2nd of March, 1889. As day after day passes and no tidings arrive of the missing Grimsby smacks, it is beginning to be realized that the gale of the 9th will prove one of the most disastrous to the Grimsby fishing trade on record. All together nearly a dozen fishing vessels carrying between 60 and 70 hands are missing."
There doesn't seem to be a book about the disaster, though it might be worth getting in contact wit Grimsby Library.
A fine rendition of this English Ballad from this famous IRISH singer. He really shows you how to pay respect to the memory of the British Boys and Men who lost their lives on that Awfull October Night on the North Sea.....Least we forget!!! Oh and by the way I'm Irish.
A very fine song written by a local chap here in Grimsby.
Ya voice is fine, though not keen on ya backing music....makes it really cheesy and takes away the feel.
Yes I come from a fishing family here in Grimsby.
I'd like to hear ya sing without the cheesy backing tape.
Fancy my mandolin onboard Cap'n?

I take it that this is a true story. Is there a book on this tragedy?
