Oh hell memories, I remember attempting to dance to this at some nightclub in Tenerife back in '95 after consuming a dozen corona's. Everyone else was on the water and apparently I was grooving in slow motion...
I remember this song, because when I was a kid, me and my auntie were driving down the back roads during a really bad storm. So she blasted this song to calm us down. Good times.
i had a trippy dream last week where a beautiful girl in a flowered field told me everything was going to be alright with the world. she was so beautiful i believed her. it looked just like this.
there was a hardcore version of this that was gettin played around 92/93 an it had a wicked piano and acid break in it. anyone know where there is a version of this??
im so pissed that i didnt live in the 90's and in other country cuz nothing good hapened in Latvia in the 90's as we all know!!! i can listen to this tune all day ~!
Ah - such fond memories!! And after the 2 years that I've had this is the tonic that I need - dacing in my lounge to this inspirational dance track! Sunshine and love to everyone out there!! :)
I remember this like yesterday! I can't even believe it's on here, I played it off tape every now and again. With all the heat this summer it reminds me of the summer of 1995!! Same weather! Sunny and hot everyday and rain at night. How did the 90's fly past so fast?? Nonetheless..fun tune :)
i have just realised how much this video refers the film 'the wizard of oz'. starts off in black and white then goes to colour. she has stripy tights on and red shoes (wicked witch of the east and red ruby slippers), the little dog (toto), wearing the pink fairy dress and holding the windmill thingy (glenda the good witch with pink dress and wand), the field of flowers (the field of poppies) close up of shoes on brick floor (yellow brick road) lol love this song and how colourful the video is :D
@mainface From what I recall, it was in the UK charts (don't recall how high it went though!) in 1995, the artist credited then was just "Berri", but I'm also told it was (originally?) released in 1994, the artists credited that time being "New Atlantic featuring Berri"
In 1994, this version/mix was "Two Cowboy's 7" Edit", in 1995, the mix name was "Two Cowboy's Club Edit". Subtly different mix names, but both refer to the same version of the same song, i.e this one!!
brilliant!- get emotional every time i hear this version! one of the best dance tracks have ever heard, the charts are meaningless when crap "outsold" this at the time. 90s dance music at its best, beat and melody lines top notch! the axel coon and bounce versions are also worth checking out - not as good as this mix but good harder sound to them!
One of the best dance tunes of the 90's. Fuck that, one of the best dance tunes ever! Strange that it came out in the winter rather than the Summer, it's got a more sunny feel to it, especially with the title including the word 'Sunshine'. Still, I rate this song VERY highly. 16 years, time does fly, music was sooooooooooo much better back then!
The writer is Ellie Greenwich and she wrote loads of hits in the 60s 70s and 80s including Leader of the Pack River deep mountain High, Baby I love you and I can hear music to name justa few oh and Ta Do Run Run
Elkie Brooks Version is the best - non techno that is.
Gaga is a modern day Ellie as if Ellie bumped into Bowie Lou Read and Grace Jones first!
It's not really clear why artists don't make this kind of dance anymore. It can't be due to lack of popularity? Considering the huge fanbase for Eurodance. These days (in Holland anyway) 90s parties are very popular and many of them are given. I think artists (and dj's) should reconsider and try to make a full revival of Eurodance. Sad though Ray and Anita didn't do it with their new song.
very very true the early 90s were an awsome time for dance music, and some amazing hot hatch cars that we will never see happen again.as for dancing through the night and next day that could have been possible due to almost everyone in the club scene at that time being on speed or extacy lol.
Awesome music! Awesome cars? Questionable. Around the year '00, if you wanted something affordable (6 year old-ish) there was scant choice. With exception of the Williams Clio & Impreza, what else did you have in mind? I recall 1994 having a depression and the Vauxhall Vectra (probably the cause).
I think you've mistaken the early 90's for the late 80's. Today, 6 year old cars are sweet. Type-R's, Audi's, Clio 172's & V6, Evo's etc.
Pulsars were '94ish but imports started 5 years later.
actually this song did make number 26 in the uk top 40 in november 1994, under NEW ATLANTIC / U4EA featuring BERRI. it was re-recorded and re-released in september 1995 under BERRI (formaly known as new atlantic)and reached number 4 (her voice is slightly different in the 1995 release - this is the original 1994 version) :D sayin that - I LOVE this tune WOOT WOOT!!!!!
