  • Research by the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that adolescents in the United States drink less, binge drink less, and get drunk less often than their peers in European countries where the drinking age is lower. The notion that early supervised drinking “trains” adolescents to consume alcohol responsibly does not seem to be the case.
