hey, i have a weimaraner, he is not a puppy anymore, and im afraid to walk him because he pulls too much, how can i train him not to, without hurting him
@brianmorteo there are a lot of great training aids on the market these days. there are some great harnesses that prevent pulling that don't cause pain and real easy to use. the leash clips to the front of the harness and puts a little pressure under their arm pit area so the don't pull. Good luck :)
Hi I am checking out your videos ( and loving them) I am getting my dog in the start of july. WHat else do you do when teeth grow in? Thank you so much.
Thanks for the comment, Eli is doing much better, he just doesn't like "rude" puppy behavior like getting jumped on or getting a cold noes poke in the rear. We are working on making sure Ricki is respectful to other dogs. Thanks for watching :)
People who are blind have the right to access public places with their guide dogs. You can only refuse entry if the dog causes serious disruption to your business. People with allergies just have to cope, they can choose to sit further away but under most circumstances it does not pose a problem. Dog allergies are not usually anaphalactic and can be controlled with medication. Handlers keep their dogs groomed and clean to reduce the impact of their dogs on businesses and the public.
Thanks for the help. I just wanted to mention that puppy raisers do not have the same rights as people who have certified service dogs. Because the puppies are not actual service dogs yet people can deny us access and we need to respect that. I have only been denied a few times in the 8 years that I have been raising so for the most part places are very understanding that we need to expose these puppies to all kids of places to get them ready for working life.
I have never really run into that problem, but I guess we would need to be reseated away from that person. We do keep these dogs clean and groom them often to reduce the amount of fur and dander left behind.
It depends are where she is placed. Our first dog lives a few hours way from us and we do see him sometimes. We also have dogs that live in BC Canada and outside of Chicago, and if I am ever in those areas I will try to visit. So far everyone that has gotten one of our dogs has stayed in contact, which is so nice :)
5 stars for cute puppy! lol my dog is like almost a year old. about 4 weeks after we got her she is like full grown, shes a beast puppy. lol she takes up my bed!

At the start of the vid you show Ricki with her big bro...are they getting along better now or is Eli still jealous/slightly upset?
Keep up the good work!

After she is trained and you give her to someone who needs her, will you be able to see her from time to time?
