I love the softness, the quiet tragedy of the song. The way he manages to humanize someone we see as a monster, treating him with empathy but not forgiveness, it's breathtaking. I wonder at what painful secrets he has that has given such wisdom.

The song To Be Alone With You upfront sounds like it would contain such subject matter, but if you dissect the lyrics a lot of people found it was about Jesus. So with Sufjan there isn't a real way to tell by his lyrics alone. And nothing will change the fact that he is brilliant.

Haunting on its own, but after reading up on JWG, it's terrifying. Much like Tori Amos' cover of 97 Bonnie and Clyde, these soft, almost lullaby songs can be horrifying in ways that in-your-face music can't. You're drawn in by the beauty, shaken by the ugliness.

120db is not a reference to tempo, it would need to be 120bpm. db is a abbreviation for decibels of sound. 120db and above could cause irreversible devastating hearing damage
