Company’s just letting the lamp run until it goes out happens a lot, its best to you non cycling lamps. Look for NC after the part #. They turn blue when its time to change them.

Same thing goes for the distorted wire, if the wire is bent like that its from over powering the lamp.

I see a lot of broken springs from that happen from power spikes.
