@heemlorjio Thanks - this is what I have to keep reminding myself of. While I might not be a fan, there are bound to be heaps that DO like it so all is not lost. It's actually significantly longer now (considering this mishap was a year ago) but it's not as long as it would be if they didn't cut 6 inches off it!
@xstoriesx1998 I know. That was the whole point! They totally butchered the colour AND the 'style/cut.' It was supposed to be a 'tidy up' or 'trim' buty they had to lop inches off due to the damage 'cause of the colour stuffups! It's been around a year, and it's finally getting a little longer - but now I'm a year behind my growing schedule! grrr.
I did this a few months ago! XD I tried to dye it a light reddish brown and (bc my hair was bleached) turned a dark dark magenta purple color. Pretttty awful.
@Gainsborough07 Obviously, then, we can understand how gross it feels. What makes it worse for me, though, was that this was done at a SALON! They totally screwed my hair up, then hacked the style out of it. I had it fixed by my SIL's stylist (who's now my stylist) and she honestly couldn't believe a salon had botched a job THAT bad!!! It took me ages to convince her I'd not done it myself and just blamed someone else!
Don't worry about it, I've got purple hair at the moment!! Mind you, mine was on purpose.. ;) Still, it's more pink-purple than the blue purple I was after. At least I can shave mine if I want..
I've bee back twice since, and they still can't seem to 'fix' it. The [colour] company's own technician-expert can't seem to figure it out either. *sigh* I think I'm going to have to get it bleached out and go blonde again, which is what I was trying to avoid seeing as that was what made it dry and brittle in the first place.
Yeah... it's winter now down under, so I guess if there's EVER a time to go this dark, now would be it... *laughs* AND, as hubby has suggested... it wouldn't be out of place if I just decided to cover it up with a beanie... *laughs*
*laughs* I think you're right. It doesn't look quite as bad this morning, now that I've had a chance to sleep on it... will brave going outside into the sunshine soon...
It is a dramatic change! I even I feel weird from dying my hair from dark brown to black - it'll just take some time for you to get used to it. If you're looking to get that freshly dyed look out then I would recommend washing your hair with anti dandruff shampoo or even sprinkling a little bi carb soda in with your normal shampoo, that might help. Personally, I think you still look good.
Off topic, but did you say 'your 17 year old?!?' To me, you don't look old enough to have a teenage child!
17yr old. Yes. *cringes* Mark and I have 'sponsored' a chinese girl to Australia. She's been with us around two years, and will be with us until the end of next year (she turns 18 mid year but has to stay until schooling is finished). She's a daughter to us in every sense of the word - including all the normal/typical 17yr old issues...
Purple is nice your suit it,,only your hair styled like that doesnt really work with the hair but i think if you straighten it then it will look great,,,i was like that at first wen i went from blond to black and i luff it now and dunt want to go blond again :) xxx
Yeah... the style is the OTHER issue!! I just tried flicking it out like that to see if it helped... Don't think it did - tho. You're right... will have to try ironing or curling it...
I think it looks fine, embrace the red head! Remember that you have gone from being very blond to being very dark with red tones, it would naturally be a shock for you. I suggest to take some time to get used to it, it really does look good (but I am a red head out for world domination, lol).
Good luck with it and don't stress, try some different makeup looks that you wouldn't normally do, experiment!, look at how much the darker color has made your eyes really pop.
I think you may be right. I've had a chance to sleep on it, and even tho it was still a shock when I saw myself this morning, it's not ALL bad... *winks*
yeah i know what you mean, a couple of years ago the hairdresser gave me a bowl cut and it was awful
