  • very helpful, thanks for the rundown. much appreciated!

  • Good video, you should buy crazy glue and stick a tiny piece of plastic to the crosses so you can fix the bottoms. I tried and it worked, you just have to be carefull because of the small spaces

  • I fuckin love you man I thought It broke or something like that but you saved me and my jawbone -3

  • hi, thanks for the video. i had the same problem and i am now cannot pair with my iphone 4s. i opened the cover, and pressed on the two button, they are still not in pair mode. what else can i do?

  • Wow, thought my Jawbone was broken because it wouldn't pair, took it apart and it works amazingly. Will have to do something with the volume button to raise it though.. Thank you!

  • hi, i had my jawbone era with the same problem, any advice?

  • Thank you i could not figure this out ive been researching this for 2 days thanks

  • you rack disciprin.....

  • Thank you so much... i was worried for some time...finally your video helped me to pairup the device...

  • Great tutorial. Seeing you actually disassembling your own jawbone just to make this review is really something :). Thumb up

  • i opened my jb and try to press the 2 bottons to get to the pairing mode, but it doesnt work. it works sometimes not every time, how do i fix the problem? thx

  • A small dab of CA glue (VERY SMALL DAB) should help. Thanks for the video, I was able to pair my headset!

  • was just about to toss it away because i could NOT get it to pair... lol... thanks!

  • hey bro good video. I found that Krazy glue on the top piece worked once it had hardened.

  • worked like a charm.

  • thanks buddy helped me pair my jawbone with my BB

  • I purchased the JB2 when the gold color first came out. Everyone kept saying that they couldn't hear me. I watched the video and watched what to do to sync the JB and I was finally able to sync it after hours of trying, I hadn't used the JB for two years. I also took the cover off the Jawbone and put some tape on the volume button and it does help with adjusting the volume. Thank you for all your help

  • i to was having trouble and was able to pair my jawbone thanks so much i was getting ready to go buy anew one THANKS

  • thks 4r keeping dis video ... really help it out .. i appreciate it ...

  • thanks for your help appreciate it

  • Thanks for the video, I was not able to pair the jawbone with my blackberry , but your video showing how to take the cover off was a big help.

    Cheers

  • I have a GREAT idea besides tape which would fall off after a while.

Take a dab of plastic epoxy (the 5-minute cure kind). With a toothpick, place a strategic dab on the worn area of the unit's plastic housing. This will offer a permanent fix if done properly!

  • Thank you so much. I knew it was out of warranty, so I assumed I was just screwed. Your advice was simple, easy, and had my Jawbone in pair mode within seconds.

  • Thanks for the info.it works, but I didn't put tape on the button, I put it on the inside cover.

  • Wow, thanks for this great and pretty helpful upload! I had been doing numerous google searches with no such luck. Took me a long time to even try YouTube and I found this! Thankfully and luckily enough! I couldn't figure out how to reset & put the jawbone back to pairing mode away from my previous BlackBerry that was stolen a couple years back. And this really did the trick! Thanks a bunch!

  • Thanks a ton for your recommendations. I got it to work! I was getting ready to throw it away... now I am enjoying it again.

    Thanks Really!

  • Thanks for the video ^^

I had already open my jawbone and managed pairing it with my phone but if you didn't give the tape method,i would still be looking for a way to make the noise assassin button work.. thanks

It isn't easy to hold on the tape so i cut a tiny little piece of tape, and doubled it. I steadied it in the tiny space in the internal outline of jawbone and the metalic outline of the button support.

Good luck to all of you

  • Thank you for doing this video. After taking it apart, it was very apparent that the lint from my pant pockets caused the unit to work less than perfectly. After taking it apart, I diligently cleaned the four edges with a small flat head screwdriver, then followed it with a cleaning with a camera lens brush, followed by a squirt of air from a can of air (used for PC cleaning). I'm not sure what the best way to store the unit in my pocket is however!

  • Hey man,

Thanks for the video... Tried the TAPE method and it didn't work... Was looking at the workings of this headset and the way it works for me it this.

You almost had it with the pressing down on the sides, ONLY mine works better when I press the sides closer to the ear bud. So if the method of pressing the sides in the middle doesn't work, try closer to the ear bud...

    Thanks for the video.

  • I have found a great way to "raise" the volume button. All you do is get JB Weld which is really a great epoxy that mends to plastic better than anything else. Mix a small amount and put a toothpick in it and on the cover that was taken off, place a small "point" of the weld over the small "x" that has worn down. Let it dry for at least 4 hours or better, overnight. You can then file the new mound down to just a height that works great for contacting the button...works better than tape!

  • Thanks for your video! I followed all instrcuctions and was able to take off the cover but when I try pairing mode it just does not work... do you have any idea on how to make it work? I have had mine for over a year and I don't think the warranty covers it anymore. it turns on but it would not pair with my phone... the lilghts red and white do not come up when pressing buttons.

    Thanks for your help.

  • @rucosantana make sure the unit is OFF before trying to pair. I was having trouble with the assassin button not working either, so when I got the cover off thanks to this video, I was able to push both buttons (while off) and got it synced up.

  • Thank you! I was close to throwing my Jawbone 2 away because I could not pair it with my new phone. Once I could press the audio button, it went right into pairing mode. Great video, thanks once again for posting it!!

  • Thank you for posting this! Geez... All smiles now!

  • Thanks so much for posting this video. Even though I had to watch it a couple times and I finally figured it out. They probably should make a pairing booklet for jawbone for dummies

  • Thanks buddy. It worked!!! You rock.

  • Thanks so much, couldn't figure why I wasn't pairing. As you said, nternal parts worn out. I spent so many hours just trying to pair up. You are a lifesaver!

  • Thanks for this clear and concise video. Thought my Jawbone was broken and that I would have to replace it until I saw your video!

  • Thanks for this video. After watching other video that was good but did not answer my question, I thought my Jawbone was broken and was going to have to try sending it in for repairs or have to replace it. It was also not clear which buttons to use to reset it for sync'ing it to a new phone.

  • very helpful mine was doing the same thing

  • i had all night trying to fix it,,thanks for the video

  • Helped So much. thanks alot video .

  • Thank you very much! the details of removing the cover were excellent! once I had the cover off and all the seams cleaned it was much more responsive to all button commands!!! MOST EXCELLENT WORK!

  • Thank you very much.

  • Just got a new one. I couldn't manually pair it until I saw where the buttons actually were in your video. The diagram in the instruction booklet was misleading in its placement of the buttons.

  • I think the problem is not that the X wears down but that the whole circuit board that the button is connected to is moving within the earpeice.

Maybe a shim between the microphone closer the earbud and the metal frame around the battery would snug the internals up enough to provide proper resistance to a NA button push.

  • Thank you! Lots of help!!

  • have you got a product called "araldite rapid"? it is a 2 part epoxy resin which sets in under an hour! a tiny blob over the worn down X part should do the trick!

  • i have the same blueTooth and i opened the face plate and put some shredded cheese inside and closed the face---after you done so; you'll get more sound clarity.

  • you need a manicure with deep oil message.

  • Thank you!! You give internet a purpose!!

  • put a double tape on the button, It works

  • PLANTRONICS 925 EARBUDS IS JUST THE EXELENT FOR THE jAWBONE

  • Put some hot glue on it

  • I got my "Jawbone 2" today and switched the ear bud to one from my old Jabra, what a difference. Thank you

  • Thank you so much i could not sync my jawbone because the noise assain didnt work, and just taking it apart made it possible i tried for hours, if i would have just saw this video it woild of saved me all that time.

  • Thank you. I'm glad that my video does help for the people who are having this common Noise Assassins button wearing off problem.
