  • That's not entirely Flash's fault. Safari has a stupendously bad plug-in architecture. Try the same thing in any other browser.

  • my windows 7 uses 0% of CPU in IE9, thanks to hardware acceleration and Bill.

  • Its not ever a fair fight. Jobs didnt allowed Adobe to access hardware acceleration API. Flash is hardware accelerated on Windows and linux(partially). Thank Steve Jobs for this.

    BTW: I tried a HTML5 HD video and is laggy as hell. Never had any problems with flash playing HD videos though.

  • @SuperiorBeen This is correct, the hardware APIs weren't available in your player version and so the test isn't comparable.

    The latest published version of Flash Player 10.1 for Mac does have some acceleration, Although Apple have restricted the situations where it can be used, and precisely which graphics drivers can support it.
