  • id kill for her hair

  • She has amazing hair

  • Thank you for putting this out. I have been without a relaxer for 9 months and I prefer the strait look. Don't let any negative comments deter you from making more videos.

  • Nice work... I like the press and relaxed hair however if the hairstylist has to put on a glove to protect his hands to apply the relaxer; what about my scalp base is not enough...lol

  • Mr. Dwayne, one of the best videos techniques I’ve seen in awhile! Where are you and your salon? You have skills and talents!

  • man...her hair is long it must have taken you hours to press her entire head...lol

  • What pressing iron did u use & how hot should the tempt be on the pressing iron?

  • Comment removed

  • What do you have to put in the hair before you press it? I just adopted a 5 year old and she has very sort hair. I'm still learning.....

  • He's So HANDSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i will say that she does look like she has naturally fine edges. Her hair doesn't look coarse at all (I didn't see a before) in which case this video is not for me.

If you have coarse NON-RELAXED hair like me I will tell you that he is right about just using the hot comb. I also follow the hot comb up with a fine tooth comb right after applying the heat.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • did you use and y kind of product when you did the pressing comb??

  • isnt a hot comb just you use a blow dryer withou nossle and normal comb and comb hair while blow drying hair? thats what i do

  • @lilvon10 no a hot comb is a pressing comb like the one he iis using on her hair iin the viideo

  • I don't have to know you nor your hair. It's called common sense. Your skin sheds on a daily basis. Your hair collects dirt and debris from the air and bacteria grows. That's the truth. Now, if you like your hair to be dirty because you think that it makes your hair grow (lol), then do what you do. Don't wash your hair and and grease your scalp with some Blue Magic. This "bald head bitch" has waist length hair, but I'll be it and you can be the dirty ass bitch.

  • quick tip : i tell my clients who wear weaves ,braids, locks, and cornrow styles to clean there scalp with "sea breeze" when they cannot wash so the scalp is still clean and will not grow fungus! scalp fungus can come from leaving styles in too long you will notice an odor on the hair/scalp and a pastey film on the scalp.

  • OMG!!( im not on anyones side but as a professional stylist) for hygene hair/scalp should be washed offten to keep the scalp clean ,recondition hair and refresh your style.its not healthy to pile on product after product on the hair collecting dirt and debris for several weeks or months.when you wash is your choice but clean hair is healthy&clean hair grows.its really sad that black women are loosing thier hair because of myths that damage hair&scalp due to miseducation! thanks hope this helps.

  • aha you suck dude

  • This was a good video. Could you make one showing how you press the whole head?

  • do you have an 'after shampoo' picture of this client? Curious as to her hair texture when it's wet.

  • He is such a Know-it-all Wanna-be

    STFU!

  • omg what if he burns her?

  • where r u from i need a press myself? can u press straight hair?

  • I never would expect you to be a professional hair stylist!

  • wow..u are doing a really great job. I dont see any smoke coming out of her hair..and her hair looks so healthy!

  • omg! i was jumping everytime he got near her head lol. i surely don't miss this although i do miss seeing my hair straight. i just got tired of getting burned! lol

  • All I can say is WOW... even a natural girl like me can appreciate someone that can do great hair.

  • he is cewts

  • i would NEVER EVER get a perm in my life. I've never gotten one and dont plan on it. I hate when ppl say they cant see their hair straight without perms. Im like wtf? My hair looks fine and i've been getting my hair pressed ever since i was like 6. Ppl are just lazy

  • Some people can't keep their hair straight by just pressing it. You do know that the climate is not the same in every region, don't you? Also, if you're pressing your hair on a regular basis, you might as well get a relaxer....it probably creates the same amount of damage, just different types.

  • For your information, i lived in tx for 3 years where the climate is very moist. I have yet to put a wack ass relaxer in my hair. Ppl that get their hair pressed like me knows better to not put that much heat on their hair at a time. I get my hair pressed once every month, if that. I have felt relaxed hair before and it feels brittle. It doesnt feel silky and shaky. It looks thin when its wet and BRITTLE as hell when its past due.

  • Please, honey, come down off of your imaginary high horse. You are no better than females that relax their hair. At the end of the day, damaged hair is damaged hair. There are just as many, if not more, females with fried, dried hair who press it as there are females who relax their hair.

"I have yet to put a wack ass relaxer in my hair."

Well, there are many people who have yet to put a wack ass flaming comb or flat iron in their hair.

  • You sound crazy and ignorant.. You really believe that relaxed hair feel and looks better than pressed hair???? Dont get upset that if you dont put a perm in your hair, your hair is gonna look dry and shit. I wouldnt recommend nobody to put a damn relaxer in their hair ONLY, and only if,that person's hair is SO corse that they cant hold heat.

  • "Dont get upset that if you dont put a perm in your hair, your hair is gonna look dry and shit."

WTF are you talking about and please point out where I said relaxed hair is better than pressed hair. FYI, I don't need a relaxer NOR a hot comb for my hair to not look dry and brittle (I thought that I would add that even though it should be common sense). It's called genetics and taking care of your hair.

Also, "crazy and ignorant" is the half naked broad on YT shaking her ass like a $2 whore.

  • @Sheriece05 i disagrre with that because i get perms and its not dry and brittle like you say it is..it get like that when you dont take care of it!!!plus..stop trying to act big and bad on youtube

  • @obrnqueenblu97 Trying to act big on youtube? Oh hush.. Stop being a lame. lol its not that serious. Im telling YOU and everybody else what (((( I ))))) SHERIECE sees when ppl have perms. Everybody is going to do what they wanna do to their hair. I just believe that chemicals are not good for your hair.

  • @Sheriece05 okay it came out wrong, but i ahave relaxed hair and its not dry or brittle..and chemicals arent that bad if you know how to take care of it..so learn how to chill

  • @Sheriece05 i feel that you judge on what you see on people you know. sO BEFORE YOU JUDGE HOW EVERYONE WITH RELAX HAIR LOOKS SEE OPTIONS!!!

  • @obrnqueenblu97 ppl i know?? No, its every time i see ppl with a perm looks a hot mess. MAYBE 2/10 ppl it looks okay. Anyway im tired of commenting you. Im stickin to my opinion. Perm sucks. Im not writing you anymore. Peace!

  • @Sheriece05 well thats becuz u r a punk and you cant stick up 4 yourself

  • Pressed hair actually feels like natural straight hair. Relaxed does not.

  • Eww So you only wash your hair once a month?

  • @mynameisalexas One month i'll wash it twice a month and two months after that, i might wash it once a month. Depending on whats going on. And how can you say "eww'? I dont get lice so its not like its in bad condition. For example, the last time i got my hair washed was the first week in decemeber. Its about to be new years and i havent washed it yet. But i will this weekend. If my head doesnt itch or stink, im not gonna wash it until it does the following. Too much shampoo = dryness for me

  • That's still nasty. You wouldn't go a month without washing the rest of your body, or do you?

  • @mynameisalexas Are you retarded or something? How old are you? Body and hair are different. Believe me. Im not the only person that washes their hair once a month every now and then. IF MY HAIR DOES NOT STINK NOR ITCH, IM NOT GONNA WASH IT UNTIL I FEEL LIKE IT! I prefer not to wash my hair every two weeks because it will dry my hair out. Now im gettin sick of talkin about this shit. Im out!

  • Comment removed

  • @mynameisalexas AND YOU'RE WHITE. White ppl gotta wash their hair every day. BLACK PPL DONT HAVE TO DO THAT! We can go MONTHS without washing our hair. We dont get lice bugs crawling in our hair or it smelling like a wet dog. ObvIously we have two different hair types so please do research on hair before you start talkin. NOW IM OUT

  • black hair can get to dry to wash everyday baby, thats why we(african american's) wash our hair less than every day.

  • Thank you for the video. I know nothing about natural hair since I've been relaxed since childhood. I am natural now and I'm trying to learn how to have strait and natural styles. Thank you so much for your help.

  • ok i am 47 and this looks likewhat we were doing before perms and now young people think it is somethin new is a hard press been getting that for years so whats new , i know it's all about the temp and not leaving comb in hair to long often people get it too hot or not hot enough, but u know do your thing

  • what is the name of the music used in this clip? (totally not related to the topic...lololol! )

  • i get my hair pressed, but this older lady does it so she tends to load it down with grease. is there anyway or anything else i could suggest to her so that my hair will have more body and flow in it?

  • If you want her to continue pressing your hair, you could suggest to her that she uses another line of products custom for you. I work in a salon where there are "old school" pressers (GREASE) and new school pressers who like to use silk serums that protect the hair from heat and light natural oils (both sparingly)

  • But now that I think of it..even when pressing oil (not so much GREASE) is used by the "old school" pressers, I have never seen anyone with weighed down hair.

You also could suggest that your hairstylist use less of what she normally uses, or you can see if it contains heavy ingredients such petroleum and mineral oil, if so use another type of pressing oil or cream with lighter more natural ingredients (sparingly).

  • If you are still going to this old lady you can bring in your own creme press, and before this ask her if she does'nt mind if you do bring in a lighter creme press.

  • This is great, but now I need a video on pressing natural hair from beginning to end...hint, hint, nuge :)

  • Lol me too I'm looking for a real good videos, because so far I'm not impress with anyone.

Everytime I press my hair it never last more than one day.

  • This is just the way my stylist presses my hair. I thought that was the way everyone does it. What's the other, unhealthy method does stylists use to press roots? I'm just curious to know. Thanks =)

  • i live in miami if you dont work here recommend a friend to me dwayne

  • i live in miami if you don't do hair here recommend a friend of your to me that works here

  • very interesting though i doubt i could try that on my own. thanks for posting. i have two questions though: 1) would you recommend pressing for all hair types or women whose may not have a very tight curl pattern? i'm asking mainly because i'm wondering if pressing can be very damaging for women with very coarse and kinky hair as opposed to those whose hair might be looser curls or not tightly coiled.

    2) did you use anything to prep the model's hair beforehand? if so, what?

  • It's a toss up.Both ways you are applying "direct" heat. Honestly the best method would be to use a "true" creamic flat iron to press those roots, as opposed to applying direct heat. Real ceramic flts are really a form of "indirect" heat. I just saw sooo many people pressing hair wrong, that I thought I'd jump in and help them out!

    Mr. Greenthumb Grows

  • Love the vid Dwayne! Do you think its better to press roots this way than to blow out roots with a round brush and dryer?

  • just pressing the new growth

  • Is the model completely natural or were you pressing the new growth?

  • thanks natualolive

  • great video
