Having watched close to thousand films in a span of fifteen years, I'm yet to see another Holi video as entertaining & as captivating as this. It seems as though I'm in a world full of bright colors at every step; wherever I turn, the colors seem to follow me:) Ramesh Sippy truly did a fantastic job with the directorial, having been fresh out of school the time he took part in the project.

And what makes this scene so different from any other, is that in most Bollywood films, the singing and dancing breaks in on the action; in this sequence the singing and dancing is interrupted by the action—Gabar Singh and his gang come riding in and break up the scene. And, the shot of one of our heroes standing inside a kid's merry-go-round as toy horses move one way and the gang circle him on horseback in the other direction, is utter, utter genius!! Yes, Ramesh Sippy = genius.

Best Holi song ever, & one of the most memorable films of my childhood. Having grown up as a huge fan of the Dharam/Hema duo, I watched "Sholay" for countless times, & with each additional viewing, this song, in particular, NEVER seemed to age or lose its "magic" -- much like the fabulous couple of Hindi cinema:) This video takes me back to when I was merely five years old, replaying it five or six times before I proceeded with the rest of the film:) Aah, good ol' times:) Hema + Dharam forever!!
