By nailing the insulation to the sill are you not preventing inspection for termites?
Also, is nailing in the foundation not asking for foundation damage later on?

Not necessarily; my home was built in 1992 and building codes require the sill plate to be pressure treated lumber. So the termites don't bother with that, they will go for the floor joists instead.
