let's just all stop being judgmental, okay? we are not going anywhere when we argue on Youtube or some other website about whatever topic-- religion, politics, starvation -- because, admit it, we keep on telling others to "open your eyes" and "condemn the hypocrites and those who believe in God" or whatever, yet we never really open our eyes. face it, atheists and non-atheists alike, let's just stop being too bitter on each other. for peace.
hey guys stop arguing, it wont make any difference since religions were part of this world since for ages. like arguing on a website wont change anything. i think it's people choice to believe what they want, if you dont want to belive in christ or whatever that's fine.... but you know, the world is full of unknowns

religion exists so dickheads like george pell can wear their fancy hats and expensive robes. i dont see him giving them away to the poor anytime soon.
all you religious people - open a book and question your surroundings before you so readily accept whats spoonfed to you. and yes, i know pslam 14 - "and the fool hath said in his heart; there is no god". you're not a fool to question gods existence. i was once religious too.
We do question. Our religion is based on reason and faith. It is a fact that Jesus rose from the dead. Those who dont choose to beleive in historical fact are not reasonable, you cant deny the truth. Also the catholic church has done more good over the last 2000 years than any other organisation. They still today are the largest non goverment provider of aid, health care and education in the world.
what evidence is there for any claim made in the bible? surely if jesus performed so many miracles there would be more evidence left than just the bible. he'd practically be a living celebrity. but no, the bible is our only information about jesus.
so is the bible enough evidence for jesus christ and his claims ? it is not historical fact, and to believe its every word would be unreasonable.
just because the church has done some good it doesnt help your argument for a christian god.
The bible has been studied by thousands of achademics and scholars and they have reached the general concensus that the four gospels are reasonably accurate historical accounts. There is much more written about Jesus than most other notable figures of his time. Our knowledge of Christ hasn't only come from the sacred scriptures, it has also been passed on through tradition. Our bishops follow a line that is traced back to the apostles
which academics ? do you have any evidence for those claims? theres nothing written about jesus, not from any notable historians in that period. what we know is in jerusalem around jesus' time there were many preachers, and the jesus we encounter today is the religion that survived.
the bishops follow a line that goes back to st peter, if he existed. not much is known of the early church. emperor constantine made christianity the official religion around 306AD - roughly 300 years after jesus.
siessva - What a load of crap. The most indepth research on the bible origins completed by PHd Bart D. Ehrman over 25 years contradicts what you have just said. Look him up on wikipedia if you don't believe me. Actually all of what you have said is incorrect and your other comments are incorrect too. I think you are making all of this up because its just rediculous.
Sorry macromeat but nothing i have said is false. Maybe you should research more than just one agnostic's studies. Please look on both sides. No one knows more about the sacred scriptures than the one whom the authors passed it onto, The Church.
compared to the world population of christians, the percentage going out to help the poor is abysmally small. also, you don't do it from your hearts, but to please the imaginary security camera in the sky.
1. The primary task of the "Christian", is to spread the Gospel, acts of charity are undertaken to evidence the power, teachings and role the Gospel plays in a Christians life. Further, Chrisitians have no monopoly on "good works" and we all look forward to seeing your hospitals, schools, aged care facilities, counselling services and so forth in ACTION around the world. 2. Remember, the bell tolls for thee...
You are absolutely right we should love Jesus and for that very reason I love Peter whom Jesus put in charge of the church. In Matthew 16:18 Jesus said "You are Peter and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it". The pope represents peter in an unbroken succession. I also said in my comment below that the church preaches the truth and who is the truth? Jesus Christ is the TRUTH. In John 14:6 the Lord Jesus said "I'm the way, the truth and the life"
it was sucha moving mass and week my group had alot of dramas durring it but the whole atmosphere was unbeleivable god bless you pope Benedict viva elpopeo hope to see everyone 2011 in madrid
God bless you Pope Benedict for contiuing the legacy of John Paul the Great. World Youth Day has been an event full of blessings and an outpouring of the spirit that has led to many true conversions and vocations over the years. May God bless and protect our pope, patriarchs, bishops, priests, deacons, monks, nuns, and all the people of God, the church militant in preaching the truth. Yes JP2, Be Not Afraid. JP2 we love you. B16 we love you even more
