  • I haven't heard this song in 20 years, but that bridge still grabs me by the throat!!! I didn't realize Rose and Rachael are twins??? Who Knew!

  • Rose and Racael are sisters but they are not twins. There is a three year age difference between them. I can remember when they did their first album. Sales were not that great for some reason. Too bad they broke up.

  • @RT10365

they are not twins - they are sisters - Rose being the eldest and Rachel the junior...great combination - nothing beats that bond!!."We are Family...I got all my sisters and me" comes to mind....nuff said. x

  • I ran across this song agin by accident tonight and came here to look it up WOW! The memories! Thank you for posting this! Simple song but awesome. Music today is missing something when something so simple can BLOW IT AWAY!

  • I am haunted in the wake of this song

  • new wave was graate

  • This is my first time seeing and listening to this. 0:31 shows this person with a deep manly voice. 0:41 is showing the same person with boobs. Geez, I do not know what to think? Perhaps it is a woman with a deep voice?

  • @kw0s It's called range.

  • My heart stops when I hear her voice... Beautiful!!

  • i miss the '90s...

    what a great band!

  • had Virtually Forgotten 'Bout This One!

  • Wow this brings back memories. I was working at the Wherehouse music store and this was my favorite cd to play. Awesome song

  • Yes Rose Carlotti and Rachel de Freitas are twins, Pete de Freitas from the Bunnymen was their brother.

  • Great band. Still got a couple of albums on vinyl.

  • Great band........one of the few I have 3 copies of their first album (2 CS and 1 CD).............they don't make em like they used to 20 years back!

  • Wasn`t the lead singer sister of Bunnyman Pete de Freitas?

  • Yes.

  • Oh MY GOD. I haven't heard this song in 20 years. I couldn't find it anywhere. Such a memorable song.

  • OMG I'm shocked to c this group on you tube.

  • can any of the heart throbs fans upload their song titled "hooligan"??? thanks in advance!

  • Thanks for posting this - reminds me to go dig out my copy of 'Cleopatra Grip'. These guys were another, sadly, under-appreciated band that could gave been greater than this.

  • check out Silversun Pickups " Panicswitch" for some reason they remind me of one another. I don't mean the music is a knock off either. Just listen!!

  • What's become of the hearttrobs? Great single.

  • They should of also released "kiss me im starving as a single".

  • Awesome song! Brings back memories. The underground was so cool. Everything is so lame now.

  • @maribelhuang No, everything is NOT lame now. It just isn't on top 40 radio, same as 20, 30, ... years ago. But to be fair, it is a lot tougher for "underground" stuff to get even the airplay it got 20 years ago. DJs have much less control and selection now. If you get out and start following the local music scene you'll likely find several cool bands AND you'll be able to sit down and have a beer with them.

  • Thanks for the post. I loved this CD in the early 90s. First time I have seen the video. Excellent.

  • Would you believe it... the guitarist is my boss!

  • Alan Barclay is your boss? cool

  • would b nice to kno wat you work in lol

  • Im a Filmmaker!

  • Reminds me of my childhood.

  • 1990 saw them live in Camden. Dispaching, bedsitland, northern boy lost in london.Happysad daze not dissimilar to today, hopefully disaffected still,top10 gig.

  • beautiful song ...

  • Great band!

    Great song!

The girls are twins and the sisters of the drummer of the group echo and the bunnymen, pete de freitas who unfortunately died in a motorcylce accident years ago.

  • Does anyone know what happened to the "She's in a Trance" video? It was on here last year I think but now seems gone. I hope someone somewhere has it. I would love to see it again.

  • Takes me back to the 90s when i lived alone, went out when i wanted, came home if/when i wanted, great times,my neighbours got to know every track on "Cleopatra Grip"

  • ... so your marriage is going well? The ups and downs of being a 30 something affect us all, garfield.

  • love this song

  • Does anybody know where I can listen to the song "White Laughter"? It's a beautiful song!

  • Great Band!!! Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Cleopatra Grip?

  • Superb song, but not a patch on Hooligan which is one of the best records of the 20th Century. A hugely underrated band. Takes me back listening to this! I remember listening to Radio1 and Jo Whiley playing Hooligan every day of the week as her record of the week.

Luckily, I've still got the 12" so am off to give it a blast now!

  • Love the Heart Throbs and hope to see more from them posted here. Thanks,

    Jim -

  • Thank you for giving me the opportunity to watch this video. This song is one of my all time favourites

  • Hello,

I have the first three 12"s of them and I sell them for a good price (they are in perfect conditions).

    Are you interested?

    Nicola

  • No thanks anyway Nicola

  • can somebody sent me the HEART THROBS song HOOLIGAN?Does anyone have it?i am looking

for it desperately and i can't find it anywhere please it is really a need!!

  • If you really need me to send it i guess I could, but you can do it yourself, then you can use it for other songs as well. Get youtube downloader, install it etc. Then download the video "The Heart Throbs - Hooligan" then using Youtube downloader, convert the .flv file and select .mp3 and it'll convert it just to an audio file. Viola! Hope this helped.

  • have you obtained the song yet? if not you can buy the album at amazon . co uk £8.99 a bargain.!Both albums are available Cleopatra Grip and Jubilee Twist...

  • Don't forget Vertical Smile (never released in US), a deviation from their normal "sound" but I really like it. "Perry Said" is awesome.

  • ive got this on vinyl,a various indie top 20 one, lol.wikid havent heard it since i were a teen

  • I love this song! I saw them in Boston in... '90... '91??? Now if I could figure out a way to buy it on itunes. (they only let you if you're in the uk)

  • Great band! Thanks for posting

  • Great song!

  • WOW! Thanks SO MUCH for posting this vid. I've been into this band since their debut album Cleopatra Grip. I had to order their last CD (Vertical Smile) from the UK.

Perhaps the most under-rated band in history. I've hunted for other projects but to no avail.

What a great band with lovely "lush" compositions.

  • Reportedly/alledgedly they were big fans of the David Lynch movie BLUE VELVET; the band wanted to get involved in a mystery such as the one in the film.

  • They were such a great band. criminally overlooked.
