lol at all these nerds talking about academics. IDGAF what you do in the classroom in all honesty... with that being said. greatest college football team of all time. no doubt.
@SUPERFSUNOLE I think when you judge a team you must look at what they did on the field as well as who they played. What some of these players did after college really has nothing to do with their season 11 years ago. They were a very good team, no doubt. Just not the greatest team ever...in my opinion. It is very hard to compare years. Who's to say they are better than teams from the 1950's..etc...thats all.
Sorry, I don't see how the 95 Huskers could have kept up with this team. Sure they destroyed all their opponents then but the 2001 Hurricanes were something else. The Huskers would have been going up against a team of future All-Pro's and Hall of Famers.
Voted the greatest college football team, Defense broke records, offense insane. The greatest talent put together on one team. 19 first round picks!! enough said. Dorsey was a great college QB then you had portis gore willis running the ball andre at wide shockey and winslow the whole defense went 38/55 players on that roster made it to the nfl even darrel jones a back up wr made it but not beard thats weird nonetheless The U not 04 USC or 05 texas not some team from the SEC THe U all day.
This team up against any team EVER wins! This was like watching the Pro Bowl every saturday, that's how good they were. Not one team has ever come fucking close to having as good a season as this team had in '01!!
imma bama fan.....but goddamn if i have ever witnessed a NFL team playing college ball it would be the 01 canes. they just fucked everyones life up. fuck it pratice your team will get beat by the canes anyway. pretty sure the canes didnt have to practice themselves they had that much swagger. and all of them got laid after every game... LIKE A BOSS
@seanman70 Your words are amazing especially when it comes to a Bama fan and the SEC. Usually SEC fans think nobody else in college has good players. The ACC puts out just as many NFL players as the SEC. The SEC has 1 academic school Vanderbilt. The ACC has Duke Virginia Wake Forest North Carolina and Miami. All of those I mention are top 50 academic schools. That being said the storm of the Hurricanes will rise again like it has in the past 30yrs.
My brother always told me that you would HATE to be on punt or kickoff squad against Miami especially from 2001-2006 around Devin Hester's time. This shit is brutal, now I understand why.
@TheKassicRock: The 1983 Huskers were an overrated team that beat up on a weak schedule. Bernie Kosar said that they were running an archaic defense that was easily exploited and had no NFL talent at all.
Ok first thing fireking the 2001 hurricanes had about 18 players who have been all pros so ofcourse there the best team, who played for your 95 nebraska team I bet they didn't have a huge amount of all pros
@klee92704 You are correct. As much as I loathe and despised that team, I gotta give credit where credit is due. In all my years of watching football this is the only team that ever made me feel like they were simply unbeatable. Just too much talent. SMH
@SUPERFSUNOLE Miami played a Temple, Rutgers, Troy, a terrible Washington.....beat 14th ranked Va Tech 26-24. ....beat a terrible unranked Boston College 18-7. That team had some great NFL stars but they were not as phenominal as people like to think. I was at the Troy game that year.....about 20,000 people at the Orange bowl. It was sad.
@knightguy11 U sound more like a U fan with all of these statistics..DOAK SELLS OUT, BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING ELSE IN TALLY..FACE IT!!!..WE HAVE PUT MORE PLAYERS IN THE NFL THEN ANY TEAM SINCE THIS TIME..AS A MIAMI FAN, I PULL FOR THE NOLES TO WIN..WE HAVE TO GET BACK TO BEING THE 2 BEST TEAMS IN ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL..AGREE???..GET OFF THE PAST AND LOOK TO 2012..ALL I GOT LEFT TO SAY IS...THE "DUKE" JOHNSON!!
@howboutthemcanes I am a Hurricane fan my friend. I'm also a Gator fan and a Nole fan. Hate to tell you but Miami has not put more players in the NFL than any other team....not even close. Anyway....I hope the Canes can compete this year for a division crown....8 seasons in the ACC and never even been to the ACC championship game....kinda sad for such a great(historic) program. Please win 9 or 10 game Canes...it's been forever since they have done that or even won a bowl game(1-4 in bowls).
@howboutthemcanes Since 1999 Ohio State has had 70 draft picks, Miami 65, Georgia 56, Florida 55. IF you want to get back and find the entire history of draft picks.....Miami is way down on the list.
@knightguy11..ohio st 70...MIAMI 65..not even close?..what? 5players?..yeah, you're right about the acc championship gm..THE U hasn't been yet..and we have been bad in the bowl games as well..I AGREE!!..however, look around the league and U have MIAMI boys making big plays every sunday..2more players with rings this yr,,ANTRELLE ROLE AND KENNY PHILLIPS..do U have stats for the other teams?..it is known that when U come to MIAMI, U go to the NFL..like i said, time to move on from the past.
@howboutthemcanes Of course you have Hurricanes in the NFL who do well. You also have a ton of Gators, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, FSU....OSU, USC, Michigan etc....That is the facts. Miami and Florida are tied with 31 years with 1st round selections in the Draft. I think they are tied for 5th in that catagory. Anyway....you are the one living in the past. Today Miami is a typical 6-6 team that can't win a bowl game. Facts.
@howboutthemcanes If you want present history. Florida has 2 NC's in the last 5 years. Florida has won more games since 1990 than any other college team. I think that's present history. Florida has 2 Heisman trophys in the last 15 years. Alabama has 6 NC's since 1970. Sorry that doesn't count in your book, lol. Miami in the 1970's..41-66, no bowls from 1967-1980. Miami almost dropped football they were so bad.
@knightguy11 ITS OBVIOUS U ARE A GATORS FAN.HERE IS A LITTLE"FACT"FOR U.THE GATORS WON AGAINST MIAMI, JACORY HARRIS'S FRESHMAN YR...DO U KNOW WHEN THE LAST TIME FLORIDA BEAT MIAMI BEFORE THAT WAS GENIUS?? 1986!!..LOL.I WAS 6YRS OLD.SINCE 2000 MIAMI IS 2-1 WITH THE GATORS..IF FLORIDA ST TAKES CARE OF BUSINESS IN 2001 AGAINST OU, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SPLIT NAT'L TITLE FOR FSU AND MIAMI..WE WAXED FLORIDA BY THE WAY 37-20 IN THE SUGAR BOWL..AP POLL MIAMI#2 FSU#3 BCS POLL.FL ST#2 MIAMI#3FACTS!!.OH!
@howboutthemcanes Of course I'm a Gator fan, duh....I'm also a Cane fan. Well genius. Yes Miami beat the Gators 6x in a row from 1986 thru 2007(22 seasons)...actually Florida beat Miami in 1985 not 1986 before the 2008 win. Florida beat Miami in 82, 83, and 85. You forget that Florida beat Miami 7 years in a row from 1971 thru 1977. So you were 11 the last time Miami won a NC right....and you were 16 and 18 the last time the Gators won NC's? which is more recent? You figure it out, lol.
@knightguy11 HEY OLDGUY!.ITS NOT THAT I 4GOT ABOUT UF WINNING AGAINST MIA 7YRS IN A ROW!! I WASNT ALIVE FROM 1971-1977.U ARE TALKING A BUNCH OF NONSENCE.ITS HILARIOUS ALL THIS PAST JARGON U TALK ABOUT WHEN UF'S OVERALL RECORD VS MIA IS A LOSING ONE AT 26WINS--28LOSSES..AD THAT TO YOUR FACT SHEET.THATS A GREAT EDUCATION U GOT AT UF.U ARE MORE CONCERNED WITH ME TYPING IN CAPS AND U CAN'T DO SIMPLE MATH..THIS IS WHY ANYONE CAN GET INTO THAT SCHOOL..I WAS 6 IN 1986 GET A CALCULATOR SUBTRACT2012-1980
@howboutthemcanes Wow...great comments buddy(all caps?). I'm a UCF alumni my friend...and I loved my experience their. My wife is a UF alumni BTW. Not sure how I'm a follower? I have owned my own business for 20 years. I coach my kids football, basketball and baseball teams. I support my church, lol.....you're funny. Since the 1970's are over 30 years ago....did it never happen? just wondering? Florida beat Miami 7 straight years in a row...fact. Just because you weren't born means nothing.
@knightguy11 DOUCHEY..WOW! HOW ORIGINAL..FOLLOW THE LEADER..TRY CREATING YOUR OWN PATH IN LIFE AND MAYBE U JUST MIGHT GET SOMEWHERE..TEACH YOUR KIDS TO BE LEADERS NOT FOLLOWERS LIKE YOURSELF..
@howboutthemcanes You are in way over your head in a debate with me buddy. Not sure what you are even debating? Florida is one of the best Public Universities in the US(ranked 15th), not sure where you get that anyone can get into UF? It's actually one of the toughest Universities to get in because soo many people want to be a Gator. Anyway...good luck in whatever you do. I will be rooting for the Canes this season. I hope they turn it around. Good Day.
@najewssilluh n 2012, U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of Florida as the nineteenth best public university in the United States, and 58th overall among all national universities, public and private. In addition, the University of Florida was ranked 3rd in The Center's "Top Public Research Universities", and U.S. News ranked Florida 9th in the country, based on "yield rates"—the percentages of students who actually enroll after being accepted
@najewssilluh Florida is by far the better school athletically...not even close. If we are talking academics....then yes UM(38) is ranked higher than UF(58), but you must remember Miami is private with 15,000 students while Florida is Public with 50,000+. Big difference. Both schools should be very proud of what they have accomplished. Both are great schools academically as well.
@knightguy11 UM has 10000 students. UM has been increasing standards of admission, EVEN for athletes. (check the graduation rate of our football team which rank among the top in Division I).
size of school has NOTHING to do with the ranking as Michigan, Texas, UVA, UCLA, UC Berkley, UNC are all large public schools that are still better than UF.
@najewssilluh UM has 10,000 Undergraduates and 15,000 undergrads and post grads. I understand that Public and private are ranked together.....but taking just the public universities...UF is ranked 19th. Anyway not sure what your point is? both are great schools. UM just has a very average football program....real simple.
@najewssilluh I played D1 football..you have no clue what goes on. Many of the football/basketball player in most D1 schools have no business in that school. That being said...they get tutors and take "joke" courses. I know...I've been there...have you? Miami is a good university...but you are kidding yourself if you think many of these student athletes are real students. I played at UCF and we had kids that were being walked through there courses and still had problems making grades. Wake up!
@najewssilluh The 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities list assessed the university as 72nd among world universities and 43rd in the United States based on overall research output and faculty awards. In 2009 Washington Monthly ranked the University of Florida 26th overall. For 2007, Newsweek ranked UF one of the "Top 25 Hottest Schools".
@howboutthemcanes Please tell me...you know Florida has 3 NC's....1996, 2006 and 2008. **I guess anything before you were alive doesn't count? True ignorance. Not real sure what the NFL has to do with college? I agree with your statement about the past....the present is that Miami is not very good. You are talking about the past.
@knightguy11 U know after i thought about it, i remembered spurrier had got florida 1.. ok..great!..as far as past championships, thats like a yankee fan walking around boasting about 27-28 titles, when they werent even alive for half of them..im a dolphins fan..i certainly dont go around boasting about the 72 dolphins..u get my point???as far as individual accolades, who cares about heismans? for the most part heismans dont = NFL success.
@howboutthemcanes Sorry buddy but Spurrier won the Heisman not the NC. In fact Florida didn't even win the SEC with Spurrier at QB. Florida won the 1996 NC with Danny Wuerfell at QB, then 06 and 08. You are the one walking around boasting about 5 NC's buddy. Miami is irrelevant in college football TODAY. Miami is very mediorcre TODAY. Not sure what your problem is? When did we ever talk about NFL success? Can you name the leading rusher in the NFL EVER? Emmitt Smith...Gator.
@knightguy11 DUDE, ALL I WAS SAYING WAS THAT I REMEMBERED SPURRIER WAS WITH THE GATORS WHEN THEY WON THE TITLE..THATS IT! OBVIOUSLY AN OLD MAN IS NOT GOING TO BE YOUR COACH AND QB AT THE SAME TIME..AS FAR AS NAT'L TITLES, YEAH, MIAMI HAS MORE THEN FLORIDA..U KEEP REPEATING THE SAME POINT I HAVE AGREED WITH U ON AS A CANE FAN..YES! SINCE JOINING THE ACC WE HAVN'T DONE ANYTHING..I AGREE..MOVING FORWARD, IF BARRY SANDERS DiDN'T RETIRE WHEN HE DID, EMMITT DOESN'T GET THAT RECORD. U MISS URBAN LIAR??
@howboutthemcanes Wow....just saw some more of you genius comments. Barry Sanders? really? Hate to tell you buddy but comments like that make you look like an idiot. "if Sanders wouldn't have retired......." Really? On to Urban Meyer; of course we miss Urban...why wouldn't we. He had a great run with the Gators....and I wish him well with Ohio State. We appreciate what he did for UF and the Gator football program. Any other brilliant comment?
@howboutthemcanes You are right about the Heisman....the point is that a Heisman brings notoriety to the school. The last 3 Heisman's, Cam Newton, Mark Ingram, and Sam Bradford.....look pretty good in the pros. They can't all be like Gino Toretta from the Canes, lol.....I crack myself up. Good day!
@knightguy11 CAM NEWTON.. YES!..MARK INGRAM 122ATT 474 YDS 5TD'S OK FOR A ROOKIE..SAM BRADFORD 74.2 CAREER RATING..NOTHING SPECIAL, HOWEVER MUCH BETTER THEN DANNY WUERFFEL, WHO MIGHT I ADD WAS LISTED ALOT HIGHER ON THE LIST OF HEISMAN BUSTS THEN GINO TORETTA...LIKE I SAID, ALL THAT MATTERS ARE NATIONAL TITLES..TO BAD THEIR IS NO RIVALRY BETWEEN UF AND MIAMI..THIS IS THE REASON THERE IS NEVER ANYTHING RELEVANT TO TALK ABOUT.."1971-77" LOL OVER 30YRS AGO!!
@howboutthemcanes Hate to tell you buddy but Danny Wuerfell is NOT farther down on the Heisman bust list than Toretta, lol.....not sure what "list" you are looking at. Toretta never played a down in his 1 season in the NFL. Toretta was drafted in the 7th round. Wuerfell played 6 years in the NFL, drafted in the 4th round. He started for New Orleans for awhile. Wuerfell won the MVP for the "World Bowl" with the Rhien Fire in NFL Europe in 2000. Not even a debate. Where do you get this stuff?
@howboutthemcanes I agree there is little to no rivalry with UF and Miami but many people think there is. Florida vs FSU is a big rivalry, but since UF dropped Miami there is not really one there. I guess the fact that they are both in the State of Florida and that they played every year from 1938 thru 1986 would cause people to think there is a rivalry. Its always fun to see them play each other....I wish the played more often.
i was so spoiled as a little kid. to me, this is the standard because this is the team i grew up watching. my earliest memories of college football are of this team.
@texasissouthh yeah! like when one of our DBs picks a guy off i expect him to return it for a touchdown. it's not a hope. lol. and it's because i learned football with this team.
Dude that is The Greatest team! Period. Nebraska was like gt of today that option was good their defense was great but 09 tide would beat them. Not 01 canes though they could only beat themselves real talk. Look at the highlights.
@fireking9934 ya know i've seen your comments on a lot of 2001 hurricanes videos, and you are always preaching about the 95 nebraska. no one cares. go comment on 95 nebraska videos.
Ed Reed, Jeremy Shockey, Frank Gore, Andre Johnson, Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, Mike Rumph, Phillip Buchanon, Kellen Winslow II, Sean Taylor, Antrel Rolle, Vernon Carey, Rocky McIntosh, Vince WIlfork, D.J. Williams, Jonathan Vilma, and Bryant McKinnie. Enough Said.
this is not the greatest football team of all time but i will tell you who had the team the 2000 miami hurricanes that had everybody on the 2001 team but add on to that reggie wayne and santana moss
@GogetaSSJ10 Well, i'm not complaining; since my Houston Texans team drafted Andre Johnson, and is know in the playoffs with him and advanced to see another day!!! hows your team hanging up... not to good I guess!! lol
I like how all these guys keep saying R.I.P Miami etc.... Every college pays players and it's just a matter of getting caught. Nobody likes Miami after how they handled College Football for so long. Everybody who plays Miami even today thinks after they win it's like winning the Super bowl LOL. Miami will be back one day. Go U
Honestly youre right, I live in washington state, always been a diehard WSU fan...however I always liked The U as well because of Dennis Erickson. I remember this team like it was yesterday BEST TEAM IN NCAA HISTORY...bottom line, & they should have been back to back....if it wasnt for a blown call in 2002
wait whatta fuck!!! why is the SEC, I mean BCS giving outside SEC teams so much shit about paid players? they are just jealous that these programs can actually make pro talent historically and in the present
Wow was there so much talent on this team .. are you kidding me , you got guys like : Portis , McGahee, Gore in the back field , Andre Johnson and just the year before Reggie Wayne was part of the U , Shockey and Winslow at TE , McKinnie and Carey at OT ... then on defense you have Sean Taylor, Ed Reed, Vince Wilfork, Jonathan Vilma, & Antrel Rolle .. .talk about star power
Only 2 teams i think that could keep with these guys. The 1995 Cornhuskers. They were incredible. And the 2005 Texas Longhorns. They were very fast and Vince Young was nearly unstoppable in College.
for your info to all the morons im an AU fan i watch every game in college and NFL im possibly can and i know nothing about football, and you can insult my list of teams because you know they are right. Any team could beat these guys if they wanted to, itsall about passion and if you want to win. let show some ex. App St. beating Mich.? that was a surprise around the nation and michigan hasnt recovered or been very decent since then. im out of room tosaymoreandimnotbeing hostile so why you to me
before i get hate im not hating this was an amazing team, but the fact that ppl are saying THIS is the best college team in history is idiotic, i could think of 10 other "dream teams" that could beat these guys, and Auburn should have went to the BCS in 2004 we would have destroyed USC unlike OU wich is an overrated team anyway
@xAxLxExCx Dude i know all about football i'm a LSU fan and the 2007 team would not beat the Miami team for sure. This Miami team had way more pros on this team that all that list put together the Florida team of 08 is the only team I think can beat them but thats it.
@mckinley1175 it doesnt matter about "pro" players, almost every amazing college player ive seen in my time has sucked in the NFL except Tim Tebow, he is pretty decent. Its about the paasion of the players cause NFL players forgot that a long time ago once they got payed to play, it may not seem like it, but im good at calling games, and i know a good team when i see one, this is one but not the "best".
@xAxLxExCx It doesnt matter "pro players" haha your def an idiot. 2001 hurricanes by far greatest of all time. At every postion they are stacked. At Rb Portis, and willis mchaee, te shockey and winlsow. all starting lbs went pro. Corner first round rolle. This team would beat Jaguars of the nfl. Wake up people. NFL talent does win titles. All these canes were amazing pros so your wrong about your comment about them not being good in the nfl . Pro bowlers=greatness.
@xAxLxExCx Well this team had alot of passion I don't think Ed Reed lacks that idt he would let them lose and at the time they were all college players and hungry trying to prove that they were still the U.
@mckinley1175 and i agree with you on that note, they did have passion and talent, but what im trying to prove is that they arent the best, or maybe they are but no team will always be the best
@xAxLxExCx "almost every amazing college player ive seen in my time has sucked in the NFL except Tim Tebow,"? if you think tebow is good in th nfl your fucking retarded he didnt even start last year n now hes trying to keep a second string job against brady quinn i bet your just some ignorant florida fan that knows nothing
@xAxLxExCx HAHa you must not watch football. The best Florida state teams lost to the canes. get your facts straight. 2005 texas beat a overrated usc team with no d. There is no need to talk about a 1965 slow white team. Miami would just throw it deep against them. 1996 Gators would get crushed. This list of top 10 was made by a man who has never watched football. 2001 canes greatest of all all time. This team should have won three titles. Was cheated out of 2002 and 2000.
@13FlJoe: I agree with you about 05 Texas. That USC team was overrated. Penn State should have been there that year, not them. I also agree that the 96 Gators would get stomped by 01 Miami. That team was overrated, with a limp-arm QB and a bunch of punk WR's. If Butch Davis didn't leave Miami, those USC teams in 03 and 04 don't sniff the title. Neither does LSU and the Tebows (I mean Florida).
@xAxLxExCx man u talkin about a team that woulda repeated undefeated national champions had a ref not fuckd us in '02 and half tha stars left after the '01 title all those teams u named im with my man on this one he said convincing wins and talent '04 usc ain't have more talent this ain't even a legit argument
awesome, try 2004 auburn tigers, 2010 aubrun tigers,2009 alabama, etc. you know the OTHER greatest football teams in history any team could smoke these guys in a second, yeah they so good now they got the crap beat out of em by Notre Dame in a bowl game last year miami was good once and thats the only time they will ever be good War Eagle, P.S. didnt come here to troll, been sufing youtube for best football plays
I'm a die-hard Miami fan and had season's tickets in the late 80's and 90's. I got to see many of the games in the Orange Bowl. I get goose bumps when I see videos like this one.
and I doubt that Ken Dorsey could stand up against aANY of the great college teams of the past 25 years. 86 and 87 U of Miami, the great FSU teams from the late 80's and early to mid 90's(especially between 91 and 97),the 93 to 97 Nebraska teams, the 2004 USC team, and even the 2000 Oklahoma team.look at how he looked vs Ohio State in the 02 Fiesta bowl?he was a caretaker that played with great talent.
i think that the 2001 UM team is ONE of the best teams ever, but not the BEST team ever.1995 Nebraska was the best team I ever witnessed in my 37 yrs.The 2001 UM to me wasnt better than the 1986 or 1987 UM teams.you cant base your opinions on who had the better "PRO" talent. You have to take into account coaching and also scheme when judging these teams. the 2001 UM almost lost a couple of times during that season too.
Best team ever by far!! Anyone who says they disagree, dosnt know football. That cane team probably could have beat 50% of NFL teams that year. Butch Davis built that team and Larry coker did a good job of not putting the brakes on. He let them play to their strength. GREATEST EVER!
if you have a Quarterback who's lost 1 game in his career in Ken Dorsey with Andre Johnson, Jeremy Shockey, Clinton Portis and Bryant McKinnie on offense you have a championship team, add Ed Reed, Jonathan Vilma, D.J. Williams and Phillip Buchannon on the Defense then you have the greatest team ever. This teams loaded with a ton of NFL All-Pro Caliber players. Damn!
lol at all these nerds talking about academics. IDGAF what you do in the classroom in all honesty... with that being said. greatest college football team of all time. no doubt.

IT'S ALL ABOUT DA U.
TheKassicRock 3 months ago
@TheKassicRock: The 1983 Huskers were an overrated team that beat up on a weak schedule. Bernie Kosar said that they were running an archaic defense that was easily exploited and had no NFL talent at all.
sptrfn 2 months ago
@sptrfn
You could say that, but in terms of scheduling, this years LSU Tigers would be #1. But they aren't.
I think the '95 Cornhuskers are 2nd.

@klee92704 You are correct. As much as I loathe and despised that team, I gotta give credit where credit is due. In all my years of watching football this is the only team that ever made me feel like they were simply unbeatable. Just too much talent. SMH
SUPERFSUNOLE 2 weeks ago
@SUPERFSUNOLE Miami played a Temple, Rutgers, Troy, a terrible Washington.....beat 14th ranked Va Tech 26-24. ....beat a terrible unranked Boston College 18-7. That team had some great NFL stars but they were not as phenominal as people like to think. I was at the Troy game that year.....about 20,000 people at the Orange bowl. It was sad.

@knightguy11 U sound more like a U fan with all of these statistics..DOAK SELLS OUT, BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING ELSE IN TALLY..FACE IT!!!..WE HAVE PUT MORE PLAYERS IN THE NFL THEN ANY TEAM SINCE THIS TIME..AS A MIAMI FAN, I PULL FOR THE NOLES TO WIN..WE HAVE TO GET BACK TO BEING THE 2 BEST TEAMS IN ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL..AGREE???..GET OFF THE PAST AND LOOK TO 2012..ALL I GOT LEFT TO SAY IS...THE "DUKE" JOHNSON!!
howboutthemcanes 1 week ago
@howboutthemcanes I am a Hurricane fan my friend. I'm also a Gator fan and a Nole fan. Hate to tell you but Miami has not put more players in the NFL than any other team....not even close. Anyway....I hope the Canes can compete this year for a division crown....8 seasons in the ACC and never even been to the ACC championship game....kinda sad for such a great(historic) program. Please win 9 or 10 game Canes...it's been forever since they have done that or even won a bowl game(1-4 in bowls).
knightguy11 1 week ago
@howboutthemcanes Since 1999 Ohio State has had 70 draft picks, Miami 65, Georgia 56, Florida 55. IF you want to get back and find the entire history of draft picks.....Miami is way down on the list.
knightguy11 1 week ago
@knightguy11..ohio st 70...MIAMI 65..not even close?..what? 5players?..yeah, you're right about the acc championship gm..THE U hasn't been yet..and we have been bad in the bowl games as well..I AGREE!!..however, look around the league and U have MIAMI boys making big plays every sunday..2more players with rings this yr,,ANTRELLE ROLE AND KENNY PHILLIPS..do U have stats for the other teams?..it is known that when U come to MIAMI, U go to the NFL..like i said, time to move on from the past.
howboutthemcanes 1 week ago

Miami almost dropped football they were so bad.
knightguy11 1 week ago
@knightguy11 ITS OBVIOUS U ARE A GATORS FAN.HERE IS A LITTLE"FACT"FOR U.THE GATORS WON AGAINST MIAMI, JACORY HARRIS'S FRESHMAN YR...DO U KNOW WHEN THE LAST TIME FLORIDA BEAT MIAMI BEFORE THAT WAS GENIUS?? 1986!!..LOL.I WAS 6YRS OLD.SINCE 2000 MIAMI IS 2-1 WITH THE GATORS..IF FLORIDA ST TAKES CARE OF BUSINESS IN 2001 AGAINST OU, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SPLIT NAT'L TITLE FOR FSU AND MIAMI..WE WAXED FLORIDA BY THE WAY 37-20 IN THE SUGAR BOWL..AP POLL MIAMI#2 FSU#3 BCS POLL.FL ST#2 MIAMI#3FACTS!!.OH!
howboutthemcanes 1 week ago

Good Day.
knightguy11 1 week ago
@knightguy11 NOT true any more. Miami has FAR surpassed UF as the best school in the state.
najewssilluh 2 days ago
@najewssilluh n 2012, U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of Florida as the nineteenth best public university in the United States, and 58th overall among all national universities, public and private. In addition, the University of Florida was ranked 3rd in The Center's "Top Public Research Universities", and U.S. News ranked Florida 9th in the country, based on "yield rates"—the percentages of students who actually enroll after being accepted
knightguy11 2 days ago
@najewssilluh Florida is by far the better school athletically...not even close. If we are talking academics....then yes UM(38) is ranked higher than UF(58), but you must remember Miami is private with 15,000 students while Florida is Public with 50,000+. Big difference. Both schools should be very proud of what they have accomplished. Both are great schools academically as well.
knightguy11 2 days ago
@knightguy11 UM has 10000 students. UM has been increasing standards of admission, EVEN for athletes. (check the graduation rate of our football team which rank among the top in Division I).
size of school has NOTHING to do with the ranking as Michigan, Texas, UVA, UCLA, UC Berkley, UNC are all large public schools that are still better than UF.
najewssilluh 2 days ago
@najewssilluh UM has 10,000 Undergraduates and 15,000 undergrads and post grads. I understand that Public and private are ranked together.....but taking just the public universities...UF is ranked 19th. Anyway not sure what your point is? both are great schools. UM just has a very average football program....real simple.
knightguy11 2 days ago
@najewssilluh I played D1 football..you have no clue what goes on. Many of the football/basketball player in most D1 schools have no business in that school. That being said...they get tutors and take "joke" courses. I know...I've been there...have you? Miami is a good university...but you are kidding yourself if you think many of these student athletes are real students. I played at UCF and we had kids that were being walked through there courses and still had problems making grades. Wake up!
knightguy11 2 days ago
@najewssilluh The 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities list assessed the university as 72nd among world universities and 43rd in the United States based on overall research output and faculty awards. In 2009 Washington Monthly ranked the University of Florida 26th overall. For 2007, Newsweek ranked UF one of the "Top 25 Hottest Schools".
knightguy11 2 days ago
@knightguy11
it's 2012 so rankings from 2009 and 2007 are moot. also, newsweek has ranked miami at 38 and UF at fifty something.
also, I am strictly speaking of the undergraduate program.
najewssilluh 2 days ago
@knightguy11..since 1980..MIAMI 5 rings(should be 8) FL ST..2......Gaitors..2..ohiost..1..anything before 1980, i wasnt alive for..
howboutthemcanes 1 week ago
@howboutthemcanes Please tell me...you know Florida has 3 NC's....1996, 2006 and 2008. **I guess anything before you were alive doesn't count? True ignorance. Not real sure what the NFL has to do with college? I agree with your statement about the past....the present is that Miami is not very good. You are talking about the past.
knightguy11 1 week ago
@knightguy11 U know after i thought about it, i remembered spurrier had got florida 1.. ok..great!..as far as past championships, thats like a yankee fan walking around boasting about 27-28 titles, when they werent even alive for half of them..im a dolphins fan..i certainly dont go around boasting about the 72 dolphins..u get my point???as far as individual accolades, who cares about heismans? for the most part heismans dont = NFL success.
howboutthemcanes 1 week ago
@howboutthemcanes Sorry buddy but Spurrier won the Heisman not the NC. In fact Florida didn't even win the SEC with Spurrier at QB. Florida won the 1996 NC with Danny Wuerfell at QB, then 06 and 08. You are the one walking around boasting about 5 NC's buddy. Miami is irrelevant in college football TODAY. Miami is very mediorcre TODAY. Not sure what your problem is? When did we ever talk about NFL success? Can you name the leading rusher in the NFL EVER? Emmitt Smith...Gator.
knightguy11 1 week ago
U MISS URBAN LIAR??
howboutthemcanes 1 week ago
@howboutthemcanes Wow....just saw some more of you genius comments. Barry Sanders? really? Hate to tell you buddy but comments like that make you look like an idiot. "if Sanders wouldn't have retired......." Really? On to Urban Meyer; of course we miss Urban...why wouldn't we. He had a great run with the Gators....and I wish him well with Ohio State. We appreciate what he did for UF and the Gator football program. Any other brilliant comment?
knightguy11 1 week ago
@howboutthemcanes You are right about the Heisman....the point is that a Heisman brings notoriety to the school. The last 3 Heisman's, Cam Newton, Mark Ingram, and Sam Bradford.....look pretty good in the pros. They can't all be like Gino Toretta from the Canes, lol.....I crack myself up. Good day!
knightguy11 1 week ago
@knightguy11 CAM NEWTON.. YES!..MARK INGRAM 122ATT 474 YDS 5TD'S OK FOR A ROOKIE..SAM BRADFORD 74.2 CAREER RATING..NOTHING SPECIAL, HOWEVER MUCH BETTER THEN DANNY WUERFFEL, WHO MIGHT I ADD WAS LISTED ALOT HIGHER ON THE LIST OF HEISMAN BUSTS THEN GINO TORETTA...LIKE I SAID, ALL THAT MATTERS ARE NATIONAL TITLES..TO BAD THEIR IS NO RIVALRY BETWEEN UF AND MIAMI..THIS IS THE REASON THERE IS NEVER ANYTHING RELEVANT TO TALK ABOUT.."1971-77" LOL OVER 30YRS AGO!!
howboutthemcanes 1 week ago
@howboutthemcanes Hate to tell you buddy but Danny Wuerfell is NOT farther down on the Heisman bust list than Toretta, lol.....not sure what "list" you are looking at. Toretta never played a down in his 1 season in the NFL. Toretta was drafted in the 7th round. Wuerfell played 6 years in the NFL, drafted in the 4th round. He started for New Orleans for awhile. Wuerfell won the MVP for the "World Bowl" with the Rhien Fire in NFL Europe in 2000. Not even a debate. Where do you get this stuff?
knightguy11 1 week ago
@howboutthemcanes I agree there is little to no rivalry with UF and Miami but many people think there is. Florida vs FSU is a big rivalry, but since UF dropped Miami there is not really one there. I guess the fact that they are both in the State of Florida and that they played every year from 1938 thru 1986 would cause people to think there is a rivalry. Its always fun to see them play each other....I wish the played more often.

@xAxLxExCx Name 10 teams with more talent and a more convicing national championship win than this one. I'm waiting.

xAxLxExCx 7 months ago
@xAxLxExCx Dude i know all about football i'm a LSU fan and the 2007 team would not beat the Miami team for sure. This Miami team had way more pros on this team that all that list put together the Florida team of 08 is the only team I think can beat them but thats it.
mckinley1175 7 months ago
@mckinley1175 it doesnt matter about "pro" players, almost every amazing college player ive seen in my time has sucked in the NFL except Tim Tebow, he is pretty decent. Its about the paasion of the players cause NFL players forgot that a long time ago once they got payed to play, it may not seem like it, but im good at calling games, and i know a good team when i see one, this is one but not the "best".
xAxLxExCx 7 months ago
@xAxLxExCx It doesnt matter "pro players" haha your def an idiot. 2001 hurricanes by far greatest of all time. At every postion they are stacked. At Rb Portis, and willis mchaee, te shockey and winlsow. all starting lbs went pro. Corner first round rolle. This team would beat Jaguars of the nfl. Wake up people. NFL talent does win titles. All these canes were amazing pros so your wrong about your comment about them not being good in the nfl . Pro bowlers=greatness.
13FlJoe 7 months ago

phazesd1 7 months ago
@xAxLxExCx HAHa you must not watch football. The best Florida state teams lost to the canes. get your facts straight. 2005 texas beat a overrated usc team with no d. There is no need to talk about a 1965 slow white team. Miami would just throw it deep against them. 1996 Gators would get crushed. This list of top 10 was made by a man who has never watched football. 2001 canes greatest of all all time. This team should have won three titles. Was cheated out of 2002 and 2000.
13FlJoe 7 months ago
@13FlJoe: I agree with you about 05 Texas. That USC team was overrated. Penn State should have been there that year, not them. I also agree that the 96 Gators would get stomped by 01 Miami. That team was overrated, with a limp-arm QB and a bunch of punk WR's. If Butch Davis didn't leave Miami, those USC teams in 03 and 04 don't sniff the title. Neither does LSU and the Tebows (I mean Florida).

and I doubt that Ken Dorsey could stand up against aANY of the great college teams of the past 25 years.

Coker is a terrible motivational speaker. But thats okay, they had Ed Reed, one of the best

if you have a Quarterback who's lost 1 game in his career in Ken Dorsey with Andre Johnson, Jeremy Shockey, Clinton Portis and Bryant McKinnie on offense you have a championship team, add Ed Reed, Jonathan Vilma, D.J. Williams and Phillip Buchannon on the Defense then you have the greatest team ever. This teams loaded with a ton of NFL All-Pro Caliber players. Damn!
