  • excellent vid

  • I think the vegetarian diet is excellent, but there are considerations like vitamin and important fat intake to be balanced. It's important to really understand what is going on, based on empircal evidence

  • i looked at india's life expectancy, a billion vegetarians do not live longer that the land of big macs and super size fries.am i saying pass the triple quarter pound-er with cheese? No. i want to outlive everybody else so i eat the paleo diet. i avoid doctors the third leading cause of death,i cant get heart disease because i consume a gram of vitamin c per day, cancer is a lfestyle not a medical condition.

  • i eat vegetables alive ,living plant tissue. its healthy to eat living things. flour corn and rice and beans have the nutrition of a cardboard BOX.

  • Hitler was a vegetarian.

  • @targus112 I SEE YOUR POINT, eating a vegetarian diet doesnt make you a nice kind healthy wise or friendly person. you can still be a hitler and be a vegetarian. in contrast eating animal muscle doesnt make you cruel stupid or unhealthy for the exact same reason.

  • But Daniel responded by saying: “Please test your servants for ten days, and let us be given some vegetables to eat and water to drinkversus 'kings' youths who are eating the king’s choice food [wine and meat]; and deal with your servants according to what you see.” So he tested them for ten days. And so the boys continued to eat vegetables, and exhibited unusual intelligence and the king favored them in his service. [Daniel 1: 1-20]

  • what great minds are u referring to?

  • Its both great minds base their diets off healthy food like fruits and vegetables to think clearer and elevate conciousness. Also great minds will do whatever it takes to perform their best, which would mean basing their diet on vegetables.

  • Always inspired by lorax2013.

  • I like the mentioning of the association between some of the greatest minds in history and acute psychosis. All my life I've noticed that when a person is extremely intelligent, the 'geniuses' of the world often ended up being labelled as crazy or eccentric when they got older. I often wondered if they where so intelligent that they eventually realized its all a joke. Their insight of reality or consciousness was so devastating that they crack up. What is it that they figure out?

  • @EFT4MeDebi they think themselves into insanity.....

  • the most important things i've read that has changed my world view.

philosophy: 'descarte to derrida' audio lectures, 36 x 30 minutes.

'the selfish gene' book. richard dawkins. (you will never view 'life' the same again)

'the way to will power' by Henry hazlitt. (but also read 'economics in one lesson')

anyway, just sharing the love and wisdom... this is my top 3 out of many many writings. you will be wise to read them. enjoy...

  • They most likly had open their minds more to what was going on in general. Misconduct and treatment of animals and also the heath risks of meat. Then allowing it to sink in made them become vegatarants maby.

Bascily my thought is they have/had open minds and did not accept anything with out prove and complete logic behind everything they do. Not working hard at it just haveing as you said a higher concusness of which you can have though basic study and awareness.

    I am not vegataren.

    Athinker

  • When Thomas Edison first thought of the light bulb, did a lantern appear over his head?

  • @happymax1

    lol, probably

  • @happymax1

Thomas edison did not invent the light bulb, that was Joseph Swan one of my ancestors, Edison simply obtained the rights to take it to the USA.

  • more likely first higher values/morals - then vegetarian

  • Loren, I love your insight, philosophy and ideology. And I'd like to thank you for posting the link to Bi-polar or waking up. It is changing my life! And I am a vegetarian. :-)

  • My buddy turned vegetarian for his hot girlfriend, and going on 3 loyal years (of being a vegetarian) he still cannot figure out how to keep the s.w.a.t. team away from his house. So in conclusion: No, I don't think so. But yes, I guess it's possible. He may be 2 levels deep on the dumb side, and vegetarianism moved him up 1 level closer to 100 IQ. I'll keep you updated.

  • RESPECT MAN... Just Subscribed !!!! :D

  • and universal mind.....for instance Einstein and many great thinkers reaching discoveries in states of non thought.

  • He recommends a high raw light diet as one of the means to assist in this achievement. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that so many geniuses were supposedly vegetarian.

Regarding the nervous breakdown symptoms, could be an awakening of the Kundalini, which is a biological and spiritual process that can cause mental illness as it occurs particularly during spontaneous awakening. Perhaps once the intial traumatic experiences are overcome the individual then integrates the subconscious

  • that denser, more heavily cooked foods such as meats and fats caused a much larger increase in breathing than raw fruits and vegetables.

His system aims to increase body oxygenation by reducing the breath and progress is measured by how long one can hold the breath without stress. Once a stress free breath hold of 1 minute is reached apparently practitioners require only 3 hours sleep, reduced need for food and greatly improved mental functioning and in some cases spiritual awakening.

  • Hi

You may find the work of Konstantin Buteyko interesting (assuming you are not familiar with his work already...).

He was a Russian doctor who observed the relationship between breath and health and created a system based upon the principle that humans breathe too great a volume of air which disturbs the balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the blood, leading to oxygen deprived organs and tissues.

Among the factors responsible for increased breathing are overeating, he noted.....

  • What's as interesting as trying to figure out what genius or talent is, is trying to figure out how we all recognize it when we see it. What makes Charles Dickens or Paul McCartney astounding? Is it real, or is it just a good fake? Is there something in us, way down, that they can bring up and out? Is talent like an animal instinct? Is it like a spider making his web and nothing else, or a beaver making his dam and nothing else? Either you have it or you're a million miles away?

  • Great videos, I feel you are probing deeply into our mine functions.

Concerning being a vegetarian, I couldn't help but link it to a prior video you made where you were discussing the tobacco salesman, and that his suppression of the fact that he was murdering people required so much mental capacity. I wonder, perhaps it takes mental capacity to suppress the murder and eating of another relatively close species such as cow or pig (or any animal in the broader sense)?

  • Also -- I enjoy your videos and appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I would've posted this on your page but it wasn't an option. I understand not allowing comments because people love to troll pages.

  • I definitely see not consuming pork , red meat having something to do with it. Though I think fish would enhance it.

I agree 100% about organic foods & local or homegrown foods being beneficial in a myriad of ways. Not just because of the food itself but just by simply being closer to the source, especially the growing & harvesting if you are involved. Or in the case of meat - the tending to & caring for the animals - catching your own fish, or being involved somehow. These are goals to me.

  • inspiration comes with sweating the rest u said is crap

  • Im not a vegetarian and eat at least one meal with meat... but I consume high level of antioxidants and exercise with high levels of intesity... I know it is ethically wrong to consume animals, but I was raised on there consumption, so now i do eat either preservative free meat or organic meat with the exception of eating at chinese restrauant every now and than... it would only make sense that vegetarians would practice higher sense of ethical conduct... not saying that I am not a man of honor

  • i fully agree with the idea/s of why we shouldn't eat meat, but i still like to do so. meat ain't a milkshake . . . this guy, very interesting videos on so many subjects.

  • It always looks as if you are on the verge of laughing. I just found your videos, and I enjoy them very much. A good book, in my opinion, is "Nourishing Traditions"

by Sally Fallon. Its worth checking it out. Thanks

  • grr i keep seeing links to other great subjects as i watch your videos, but i have to stop

  • I just crossed your videos just the other day and have watched most of them...Very broad minded you are! lol yoda-ism. I think that's Great! You point out many topics and present them with a balanced, intellectual, rational view of them. I do enjoy your vids very much and hope you continue to make more of them. For some of those that need a visual stimulation or get bored are missing the point. Its about whats being said that is important, not visual stimuli.

  • No meat for you !!!!!!

  • I can't stop listening to this guy.

  • I watched the video you recommended and found it very enlightening. I am more impressed however with the depth of your knowledge on such a variety of subjects.

  • Dear Lorax 2013:

if people really want to be attuned with higher consciousness they don't eat meat at all naturally. When we realize that we function in quantum reality we understand that eating meat is eating ourselves. And thinking about eating corps and what it can add to our quantum reality stops them automatically and completely from doing this.

  • I would like to know how many vegetarians and vegans lose their minds early in life because of for example B12 vitamin deficiency = depression and causes failure in nerve system eventually which is of course a catastrophe for a human. Ether you die or or commit suicide I'd think. Before I'd look at such a diet I'd want to see some statistics. And so my silly argument in this discussion is that maybe in some cases the great thinkers lost their minds due to their diets.

  • Very few have B12 deficiency. These days food is fortified and you can get enough B12 from this alone, or if you're still concerned you can take a supplement. In the old days before food was sterilised then you'd get enough B12 from bacteria and dirt on veg anyway. A symptom of lack of B12 is inhibited mental function, so it's unlikely the great minds suffered from this! I hope this helps answer your question? :)

  • @silentplanet2020 Sorry for the late reply but I tend to forget to look for them. Yes, today maybe the food is fortified but many still do get B12 deficiency or it's never noticed because doctors don't bother checking the values since "only old people get it". Also... I was speaking of the past great thinkers... We don't have a lot of thinking people these days :P Also the lack of mental function depends on how you see it. Lack in some ways, maybe benefiting in other. (continue in next post)

  • @MajonezTube Also I read some information recently that a creative brain apparently works very similarly as the brain of a person with schizophrenia. The line is very fine they say. So this also kind of make me think that an unbalance in the body and brain could express itself in out of the box and creative thinking.

  • That last message was of course directed to you too silentplanet2020. And I might at the same time add that I think that a certain limited unbalance might be benefiting and then when it reaches certain level it's harmful and not productive.

  • @MajonezTube You're right, it's still a fairly common problem. I don't have any statistics on it and don't know if such exist, but since becoming a vegan and prior to that a vegetarian, I've been a lot more aware of the nutritional values what I eat and drink. Because of this I'd say I'd be much more unlikely to become B12 deficient than when I ate animal products! Simply because I monitor what I'm getting. Of course, that's just me, most vegans I know do the same...but not all! Education is...

  • @MajonezTube (continued) important regardless of if you're vegan, veggie or eat meat too...I hope kids get taught more about nutrition as it's so important to health. I'm 26 and was educated in the UK, we were taught the basics of too much fat and inactivity = heart attack, but that was about it (from what I remember!) Almost all I know about diet I've learned about myself. It's very interesting about the schizophrenia...I didn't know that; it's clear that a lot of geniuses were eccentric!

  • You're obviously a person who likes to think about stuff a lot and that's great. I certainly think we need more thoughtful people in the world (not just knee-jerk reactors.) My problem with your videos is the presentation. All your videos are of you just speaking directly into the camera which, sorry to say, this is about the most boring approach you could take. If you were to just edit in some relevant pictures in on top of your words or SOMETHING it would be a 100% improvement...I think.

  • Creative energy and imagination are supreme energies, well above that of education and intellect. To be inspired is also a bit supernatural energy, perhaps tapping into our own gene history to solve challenges. keeping our toxins and calorie load low prolly do help creative energy. I thought this vid would be related to other influences. Upbringing in a free thinking environment is one.

  • Besides, Hitler had a couple of nervous breakdowns too.......

Maybe it's time to reconsider your theory about "great minds"?

  • In my opinion, the only talent Hitler had was Bullshitting aka:Propaganda. It is truly amazing how one mind can control so many others. If enough People tell the same Lie, it will eventually become the Truth.

  • It would only be more people believing and or telling lies. The Truth can never be manipulated.

  • Have you actually looked closely at what Hitler claimed and why it had such a resounding truth to it to the German people during that time period or are you eating up propaganda and bullshitting yourself?

  • Ya that is true.. My dads best friend is a very smart guy went to college and works on computers and he says he believes what ever the majority thinks is true... lol Kind of lazy way of going about your life

  • If I remember correctly, Hitler was a vegetarian.......

  • And Stalin ate meat (so did most murderers in history)....

I don't see how one evil man being a vegetarian prooves anything?

  • I can present some anecdotal evidence and I am very confident that statistical analysis will prove this to be true. India is a good place for this evaluation because some sections of the population are vegetarians - for ex. Gujratis and Brahmins (especially South Indians). Most Indians will tell you these people who are otherwise racially (genetically) different are more intelligent (and knowledgable) than the average population. If vegetarinism is cause or symptom is a very interesting topic.

  • I tried to be vegetarian by practicing what is called in India "Bakti Yoga". It happened in Miami, back in the 1990's.However, human desires are more impacting than animal blood or proteines themselves. I am pretty sure that the components of animal blood affect our nature, although we are classifeid as the human animals in the animal kyndom. It is a good practice substitute the components of animal blood for clorophile , but is quite spensive for the masses...

  • Thoughts ARE tangible energies. If you can think it (something-anything)....you already created a decision that occurs in many multi-universes we cannot see.

  • Nice theory.

  • I think that it works both ways. Great minds see past societies habit of pretending that eating animals is ethically OK. Not eating animals also means that you don't get the animal products in your body. There is ample evidence that memories, emotions etc are present in the body tissues. You eat it and you become it. Many animals today are raised in dreadful conditions and so people are consuming misery and fear. Organ transplants likewise.

  • To take this to another level, the human mind is capable of operating in many states, some of which are known from brain wave studies. Only through abandoning cruelty, hate, anger etc can people enter higher states. Through great refinement of the mind over a long period a person can become more like the great minds, perhaps without the psychosis part. I would recommend vipassana meditation to anyone who really wants to purify their body and mind. Doing it made me a vegetarian.

  • If you honestly believe this, you are a fool. Memories are not present in body tissue. If they are, show me where they are located. That's right, show me a diagram of where an emotion is located in a cell. You can't because you are an insane vegetarian. It is a faulty diet.

  • If memories are not present in body tissue, then why is it that people that get organ transplants frequently report having memories, desires and thoughts that are demonstrably not their own, but come from the donor?

The mind is not the brain. Memories, desires, ideas, beliefs etc are stored throughout the body in every cell. Perhaps you can show me a diagram of where memories are stored?

Some of this is further demonstrated by your aggressive attitude which might well result from eating meat.

  • they've done studies on some type of underwater worm that lives in the pitch black and they've exposed the worms to light and had them adjust to be able to live in light. then they cut up those worms and fed them to the same type of worm who lived in pitch black. these worms who had never been in light could now get around in light because of eating the worm that had been exposed to light before being killed. so there you go, evidence that memories are stored in tissue

  • Maybe you are a true sophist? ya?

  • If Newton is your example of a great mind, then what difference does it make what you think?

ethical implications??? what a load of shit this is. This is fascist ideology. You are trying to equate animals with humans. That is fascist.

  • Fascism is a political concept. It has nothing to do specifically with epistemology -- which is where humans and animals diverge in philosophy. But of course you knew that... check out "freedomain radio".

  • Fascism is an economic policy to collect debt for the corporations. A police state is usually needed to impose fascism, but not always. Sometimes you can get people to impose it on themselves. You can for instance teach them that suffering is good. That it is the natural state of man and should be embraced.

haha, or you could join LaRouche and fight it.

    LaRouchePACdotCom

  • "Great people" are only great because they make themselves great. It's called motivation, I guess your inspiration theory. Persistence. And total belief that you will succeed. You don't have to have a great mind. You just have to gave the "great" outlook and attitude. Nothing else. Failure is victory, as long as you get back up. But safety to avoid failure will make you a failure in itself.

  • That there seems like a sweeping conclusion ,Loren. But From what I Observe it seems to be the other way around, it is because of their well developed state of consciousness that they were Vegans.

To clarify further, it is their well conditioned sense of conscience and morality that were directly responsible for their expanded state of consciousness.Which made them empathize and be alive to the sufferings of others. Thus the outcome.

  • WOW! Great insight Lorax! One thing that comes to mind when taking in account that these great minds were vegatarian is the fact that eating healthier in general promotes a stronger brain. The brain body connection someone who is healthier in general will be able to think and connect creative ideas better. I have often thought of the role that sugar specifically plays in diet

  • maybe these great minds just wanted it badly enough. more than others.

  • If there is a correlation, it's likely due to the omega-3 fatty acids found in vegetables (as well as fish, of course). Our livers can convert some of these into DHA -- a fatty acid important in brain cell membranes.

  • Great topic.

  • Not sure vegetarianism increases the "Greatness" of one's mind, but I can tell you from experience it helps you focus, and feel sharper. I've achieved this by eating a strict organic, vegetarian diet. Not sure it can make anyone smarter, but I have a lot of respect for vegans and vegetarians because they tend to care more, about the world, about the environment. Not saying others don't, but generally speaking they care a lot about the world they live in, and that's Greatness to me! (O:

    Peace

  • :-)

  • Seriously, I am vegetarian because I think it is more healthful, and I really care for the treatment of animals, and don't like the idea of eating another sentient creature. First I gave up buying meat, but I would eat it if served, because It was already dead and something was going to eat it any ways, and friends and family thought it rude to not eat the food they cooked and served, then I moved and now I don't eat any meat even served

  • now I don't eat meat at all, I eat dairy Milk, no eggs directly, I don't buy them or order them or eat them if served, but I eat some things that have egg products in them, but my goal is to stop altogether, Id like to eat the most nutritious veg. foods, now is a changing time for me because I'm learning about healthy food, I'm not in the position to go to the health food market and experiment with diet, I live with my mom and have to consider her food preference and also economic aspects.

  • I'm vegetarian..so was Hitler, but that doesn't mean I like Hitler.

  • (this was a joke obviously)

  • Hitler being one of the worst if not the worst human beings happened to be vegetarian, something that seems more associated with a a mindset that would go against the brutality that Hitler represents, I'm not making light on the evil of Hitler, but more pointing out that people can make fallacious assumptions when they see similarities, no one would draw that conclusion here but they do it with other things...

  • eh... thats a myth.

    just enter into google:

    hitler was not a vegerarian

and there you have lots of detailed information why he wasn't.

  • good point :-)

  • you may not but you may show more love towards animals then you would for other human beings for one what are your views on pollution and animal abuse and the wiping out of several species on earth do you see those as a big problem in society

  • yes I do not like animal abuse at all, I think it is very sad, terrible, I think people who abuse animals lack a conscience. Pollution, my views are that it is destructive and another negative thing that hum,ans need to improve, same with species extinction at the hands of humans.

  • but do you see that as the main or top problem of our society or do you see poverty and human development as far more important

  • In my opinion, those problems are interrelated, when people can develop their minds and have true equality in all areas then they can develop a deeper respect for life , and contribute toward the positive goals of humanity or at least not practice the destructive ones..

  • but that probably wont happen till people fulfill their needs, extinction of certain animals may not even be viewed as an issue. even at the rate of knowledge the western world possess they still disregard the environment and only as now because it affects their lifestyles .hypothetically i can see environmentalist do unthinkable things in removing the threat to the environment by any resources they have at their disposal

  • Check out "Everything and More" by David Foster Wallace. He discusses the mathematics of infinity and the various mathematicians who tackled the topic, who all seemed to go insane; Cantor, Godel, etc. Didn't mention anything of their dietary habits.

Which greatest minds were vegetarians? I've never seen a list.

  • Loren, WHY YOU ALWAYS TURN SIDES WITH YOUR EYES???? YOU SMART FELLOW BUT YOU SEEM TO BE LYING OR JUST READING AND THIS DOESNT NOT COME FROM YOU. FROM WHO THEN>???

  • You're right, I think that he has a cheat sheet or an outline that he keeps glancing at. I don't think that he's reading it word for word like Obama does. He addresses a topic and wants to convey a lot of information in a short amount of time. I think he's more of a planner. Going by his topics and the information he provides, he is a smart guy.

  • Creatives, as they become self-aware, integrate rationality, sensitivity, and intuition; a conscientiousness and pacifism arises where a keener sense of clarity enables them to recognize how they and their body are connected to the whole of nature and their role in the evolutionary process. By witnessing how others live, they choose the narrower path. Also recognizing the less likelihood of ingesting pathogens via vegetarianism.

  • Drugs. I think most of these folks used mind altering substances. Why wouldn't they, especially since they weren't demonized and outlawed as they are today. BTW, our brain supposedly contains DMA, go figure. :-)

  • you should check out kundalini, i think a lot of people in the west are having spontaneuos kundalini awakenings but are diagnosed as psychotic.

  • I would chalk up the vegetarianism of some great thinkers to eccentricity and not as a cause or effect of their creativity.

  • left handedness

  • Englisch 2nd language, sorry

  • Loren I always enjoy your discussions.

Julian Lee at celibacy daught info believes that male sexual continence is also a commonality among many of the great creative minds in history. Do you have an opinion on this?

  • To conclude anything about the "greatest minds", you would have to define "greatest". Do you mean only famous? By introducing ethics you are also introducing cultural bias. You mention a raising the level of conciousness. I would suspect something more mundane like self-discipline. The effects of various diets and other forms of self-discipline on mental ability would be interesting, but I have no idea how you could measure or test it.

Interesting points and something to think about.

    Thanks

  • Weren't they all lefthanded?

  • Its difficult for vegans to get adequate iron, zinc, and B-12 as well.

My own diet is limited to fruits, vegetables, and nuts (esp. raw cashews)....however I do make concessions for my beloved Kikkoman oyster sauce, which is very rich in zinc and DHA.

  • Creative genius and spiritual enlightenment are very different. The genius is filled with thinking and ideas...the enlightened mind is still and quiet.

Apparently 30+ percent of the human brain is made out of a twenty carbon fatty acid called DHA, most directly acquired from fish, who in turn can only get it from algae.

  • Like you said, we're all different. We all have different dietary needs. When you find the optimal diet for you, you're brain will also function optimally. Metabolic typing is something that I'm going to look into at some point.

You can probably decrease your intellect with a diet that is wrong for you. The most important time in your life to have a good diet is when you're growing up. Unfortunately (for some people) you can't decide your own diet as a child.

  • Thank you for the link to "bipolar or waking up" -- that guy's story (the five-part video) is fascinating and harrowing and way important.

  • Woot! Loren each one of your videos provokes much thought and is really inspiring to me in a variety of ways. Thank you, you rock! Have a pleasant week and Cheers -Calvin

  • I have to say that I believe that if science is given enough time, we will understand these things that are currently unknown. All kinds of things that used to be "unexplainable" turn out to be explained later. I would really like to see some kind of link or source that shows a correlation between "the greatest minds" (or if you want, just geniuses) and vegetarianism, because I haven't heard that. Looking forward to the vid about genius and acute neurosis. Thanks!

  • My 'ignorant ass' needs to read some books? How about you try Good Calories, Bad Calories, or Fat of the Land, or Trick and Treat? If you actually knew anything about hormonal regulation via nutrition, or even health in general or took the time to read medical studies, you would know that CHO metabolism is very damaging to the body and responsible for civilized diseases.

  • organic is fantastic but nearly twice as expensive and very difficult for unwealthy people to afford

  • hahaha eat 100% raw regular food THATS a 1000 times healthier than a cooked organic diet : )

    truth!!!

  • you sure? where you get that info?

  • "Getting away with stuff" is an "intelligence trait" that apparently works much better when trekking the wilderness. When it comes to stealing wealth from other people or devastating the land kind of sucks really bad. We live in a world ruled by "successful buh fkkrs"

  • These were people who had some disregard for hierarchal maneuvering and collusion. It is a myth that they are great. Most of the stuff that Jesus is great or famous for we have no way of proving is anything other than popular myth that support a huge mythic belief system. People do this. The last president was greatly or historically a huge crime lord. Somebody show how Jesus walked on water. Maybe he swam and there was no word, so they changed it to the "miracle" of walking on water.

  • The biggest problem with conceptual reality is the expandsive delusion of the leadership classes. First they alter or withhold information, second they threaten, third they will injure or destroy, fourth they will threaten your life, fifth they will kill you and your kind. That is pretty much how hierarchies work. If you belong or hold status you will delude yourself into believing you are right to kill strangers and sack a countries wealth because of "following orders".

  • I think we shouldn't ignore that Davinci was alive about a century after the black plague had swept europe. Vegetarianism today is indeed a funny topic. Being in the realm of opinion here, meat is so revered in the US. You can pay $150 for an australian steak, but 10 cents for a mexico tomato. There's no correlation to quality meats and quality vegetables except for an organic branding. I agree with you though, I've been eating more frutis & vegs since your last video and noticed more energy.

  • Curious as to which is the cause and which is the consequense...

  • Excellent video, as usual. I am wondering, what do you think about the correlation between great minds and celibacy?

  • Yea

  • its a proven fact that intelligent people breed less than unintelligent people. makes sense. who with any brains would want to keep this hamster wheel of hell going?

  • hahah! :D

    word

  • @mopme2008 what is breed? Google are translating it to race?

  • @Keunono Breed = Reproduce

  • @mopme2008 cool thanks

  • Your question: many of the great minds in history were vegetarians because they were great minds or many of the vegetarians were great minds because they were vegetarians.

My thoughts: A methodical statistical Analysis is needed. Anybody's opinions shouldn't count.

    (I am a vegetarian myself)

  • In the Bhagavad Gita 3 modes of conciseness are described 1-darkness/ ignorance 2-passion 3-goodness/truth.

1= closed mindedness, pessimism, dishonesty, violence etc.

2= striving to satisfy the senses, dissatisfaction, etc.

    3=satisfaction, contentment, truth, compassion, etc.

Meat increases the mode of darkness/ignorance

  • "Meat increases the mode of darkness/ignorance " AGREED!! :D

  • Creatively constructive people should be helped and respected! How or why they occur is less important than that they occur; we all benefit from these individuals lives and work.

  • Again you fail at your generalizations toward science. Simply because analysis of the most complex organ on the face of the earth is a monstrous and near impossible challenge does not preclude science from making claims about consciousness.

  • they had "rational creativity" is how I would put it.

  • I would assume with higher consciousness comes a higher sense of morality...

  • Personal experience tells me the closer to nature I eat, the better. I consume mostly fresh and live foods. I stay away from meats, but will use free-range eggs raw in a smoothie. I ferment non-homgenized milk (prefer raw but hard to find) using kefir. I also ferment cabbage with other vegetables and I keep a five gallon batch of continuous brew kombucha going. Kombucha is a fermented tea which I add a lot of my owh herbs to. Paul Turner

  • CubanED had this to say in another post,"LOLS, fruits are NOT part of a healthy diet, nor are vegetables for the most part."

What is up with this guy?

  • maybe he's one of the fools who fell into the atkins trap, and now thinks is enlightened because he actually lost some pounds, unhealthily.

Although, I think atkins doesn't forbid vegetables.

The only thing he got partially right is that the excess consumption of carbohydrates (from starch in grains, and processed pure sugar) in our times is probably very unhealthy.

  • I love my organic grass finished beef!!! but very interesting, I will look further into it. Your videos are great, thanks for your time, keep posting!

  • 1. Less meat means more blood flow.

    2. large amounts of meat makes you sluggish

    3. If you are in a place that grows the large variety of plant foods needed to live well, you are probably in a place of some wealth and culture, which means you would have a larger degree of mental stimulation and maybe the personal wealth or wealthy patrons to indulge in intellectual pursuits.

    4. if you go back more than a couple hundred years many people were pretty much vegetarians but not by choice .

  • Vegetarianism, or rather, carbohydrate consumption is very unhealthy.

  • You ignorant ass, read some books. :)

  • Whenever I listen to a Zen master I highly respect as my teacher, I've noticed the amazing level of clarity in his thinking and his mind. He became a monk when he was 16 and he is about 82 years old. He said when a lake is calm, then we can see the reflection of the moon. A Buddhist friend of mine told me that she became much calmer in many ways after she changed her diet to vegetarian in her early 20's.

  • i think that one thing these folks are able to do is to compartmentalize their lives....

  • bipolarwakingup

    Good reference.

  • Cool video. You're the most intellectual person I subscribe to. It's a great pause from all the silver investing and NWO videos I watch :p

I went vegetarian (plus a few free range eggs now and then, and some locally made milk, and fungi, and a rare piece of sushi or something) six months ago. I did it for ethical, environmental, financial, and health reasons. I haven't been disappointed. I recommend EVERYBODY try it at least once in their life. I only intended to try, but I can't go back.

  • I feel more alert and focussed, if that's possible. I would have said it was garbage until it actually happened to me. It took about a month for me to really notice any difference, and after six I'm still noticing things. I'd love to get my cholesterol checked, and I'd love to see the insides of my arteries. Animal fats are pretty hard on the body.

Also, eating less chemicals, hormones, and other crap must be helping, too.

Got $300 in heirloom seeds, my yard is going to be amazing this year :D

  • its not vegetarianism...ayurveda calls it sattvic food. when you eat sattvic food your mind is calms and relax and all great invention has come in a state of no mind. that is why most of the enlightened masters come from india and if an enlightened being declares vegetarianism is the food that is the only truth. i switched to vegetarian and i can tell you for sure your consciousness raises. this is the truth, period.

  • He reminds me to Wilson from HOUSE!

  • If you're not gay I truly believe I was meant for you.

  • Dude, take her up on it. Check out her videos - she's pretty cute :D

  • 1+2+3+4= 10

Experience for some = 10 for others theirs no putting it together I am a vegitarian not a good one however I dont eat meat, fish, chicken or any animals and I gave of milk 4 years age and I still dont eat enough greens..... not much support from my family however leading by example has never been easy or is showing my family theirs more than one way to skin cat, pardon the pun again fasting is something that is not promoted in this obese culture. Only left to question why.....

  • People are born with great minds. No outside influence beyond random chance will determine genius from average. Great minds choose their behavior. Vegetarianism may be one of their chosen behaviors. One has nothing to do with the other in determining or sustaining genius. And in any case, emotional stability is much more useful than genius. Thanks for another interesting topic.

  • why do you have to write like you are preaching at a church?

"No outside influence beyond random chance will determine genius from average."

    you sure about that, god?

  • Sorry, just trying to express myself clearly.

  • Plants are basically the first line in converting whats in the ground to something edible and useful to us. When we eat animals, we basically eat what they they converted from the plants that they ate. So in other words, when we eat animals, we get their leftovers from something that we can get directly from the plants themselves. If you look into the various claims about some ET's, you will hear some statements that some appear to have internals based much like a plants system. Food 4 thought.

  • As always an original analysis not found on mainstream media.

  • We love the way you set the stage for people to understand what you have to say, which makes it all the more the intresting to watch...Thankyou

  • nature vs nuture

    chicken or the egg

    and whatnot

  • I do not see any founded evidence that Vegetarianism was associated with any forms of mental illness..there were other factors attributed throughout history..natural food is key.

  • its not that controversial, eating organic makes the child get bress milk with the right amino acids and all so they can fully develope their minds and have good brain function, humans are getting dumber faster now days, we need ppl to start sorta like health ethnic enclaves so we stop dumbing down and the idiots can suffer for themselfs.

  • I get first prize a trip to Whole foods or the Farmers market..I am lucky to see this first..most great creative minds were on absinthe.":( Frankenstein" was created and Director Actor Leonard Nimoy a Veggie head..many great works of art.. * Allen Ginsberg, poet Deepak Chopra, * Leo Tolstoy Plato * Pythagoras Newton interesting topic thanks.

  • I've noticed that when I eat red-meats and junk food that my motor functions become enhanced and my cognition becomes diminished. The inverse is true when I am eating fruits, vegetables, other meats. My analytical abilities become enhanced and my motor functions revert back to normal or diminish.

Of course, this could be abstract theorizing, subjective perception, or objective truth to everyone.

  • I definitely agree that solitude (or free time) allows circumstances that are favorable for creative outlets when not preoccupied with many of lifes trivialities.

  • I have to agree with you about plants helping us raise or level of awareness.

  • what do u think is the role of science in general? and even if science can't explain a lot of things now, do u see it evolving the way it has in the past? could it be that someday, we might learn more about consciousness through science or is it doomed to fall short of that ?

  • Very interesting, I wonder if there is research done on this with regards to not so much consciousness but rather neurological findings within the brains of consumers of vegetarian diets and raw food diets when compared to omnivorous consumers.

  • Or a correlation between vegetarianism and psychosis or mental breakdowns ha ha Just being a brat, have a great day.

  • Well, If we are going to feed 6b+ people without fossil fuel adjusted food production, vegetarianism might be the only viable solution, wheter we like it or not.
