@antorpg444 BWR seems to be heavily influenced by Cave games both in visuals and gameplay. Nice one though, PC homebrews are pretty good nowadays

Maybe...Just MAYBE, now that Aksys Games has released Cave's Deathsmiles in the US, we MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT have a chance at getting DDP Dai Fukkatsu, or Muchi Muchi Pork, or even Pink Sweets...shit or KETSUI released in the States too.

Everyone needs to do their duty and buy 2 copies of Deathsmiles...consider it a vote for Cave to localize more games, or allow it.

I'm afraid to mod my existing PS2 (Even though they're kind of cheap to replace now), but those HD loaders sound good.

I just hope my "slimline" model isn't somehow incompatible with plugging in an external hard drive or flash drive...

I've used HD-loader with my slimline. It works but it's extremely slow. But I think there's some good, easy to use swap-kits avaiable.

This game is classified as a Manic Shooter, it's a small but unique genre of shooters.

Actually, no. Manic genre is referred as games where there are quite many bullets and they are incredibly fast ( Donpachi, Battle Garegga, Armed Police Batrider ) and then there are Bullet hell-games ( ESPgaluda, Mushihimesama, Dodonpachi Daioujou ).

And don't you dare to talk about stragedy, chaining first level in DOJ is very challenging and very needed for proper scoring.

and this is pretty much all that the genre consists of, extremely overly difficult shooters that only the most hardcore guy who's played it over and over and over can actually play past the first level or two.

Ok. Well all the 2d fighter genre consists of is 2d... fighting..... yet, i love many people enjoy 2d fighters. I myself like being able to play and beat games that other people cant. Call me wierd, but I like rising above the easy shit for a challenge. This genre rulez.

yup, i'm terrible at mushihime-sama: i can get to like stage 3 on one credit and that's it, and that's abusing bombs haha

i'm just more accustomed to large curtains of bullets moving slowly rather than less bullets moving 900MPH, i think (although mushihime does both)
