@MrShocktime absolutely agree - about the cleanest ever. I've lost my fathers CD of "Right Hand Man" but when I used to teach beginner banjo I'd always say "Get that and thats how it ought to sound one day".
Steffey is great. Very clean. David McLaughlin is a great player as well and a true gentleman. He helped me a great deal in how to approach a mando break and no one does it like him I think. Very tastful in his approach.
Howdy! IThat thar is a great performance! t don't make no difference if and Alison got Blonde nor Brown hair. She is the best! Also, am happy to see that Cheech what's from Cheechy n' Chong has come over to sing some Bluegrass. Who knew he could a holler like that? All the best, Judd Jugmonger (PS. see out video fer a fish-melt lesson).
Electric guitar players have to fight endlessly against the Blues Nazis who insist that the music must never change, that only certain instruments can be used, and that introducing new ideas somehow kills off what they like to call "the passion." IMO, that's a crock whether you're talking about blues or bluegrass.
You don't like Alison Krauss? I know what you mean... all that taste and intonation, all those ideas dragged in from other idioms... she sucks. Bluegrass should always be derivative and slightly out of tune! :)
I know what you mean....bluegrass should be strictly bluegrass. don't drag all kind of other stuff in it. playing fiddle is about the passion, not the intonation...
There are two singers who really make justice to this song, one is Dudley, the other is Jack Cooke...this version is fantastic, that's what I call SOLID bluegrass!

As much as I like Steffey, I would rather hear David McLaughlin in this style. I think he fits this style better.
