I will soon be learning this peice and its so beautiful my mom played it when she lived in russia i just started grade 4 in consevatory and im already playing la toupie this is an awesome version
@shirschfield I just have a warped view of the world. Don't mind me, I was just pointing out the literal humour derived from you typing "I'm playing this piece right now" - which meant you were playing it at the same time as typing the comment. Like I said, just warped. happy new year.:o)
I appreciated it, if it makes it any better (or worse?). :-)
However, another piece played in this very smooth and sort of "nicely strange" way. I like how he plays with the rhythm; I find other Bach interpretations almost boring most of the time, but never these ones. Thanks for this, again! :-)
@katalink Agree - he has his on freestyle rubato/rall& accel which is kinda strange but pleasing (except to the unfortunate purists who can't stand anything other than reproductions of the score "as Bach" would have played it). Anyway I'm sure as Bach was a master improviser he'd love people doing crazy stuff with his work. :o)
Yeaa, completely agree:-) What makes his playing exceptional (at least to me) is that he kind of makes nicely articulated sentences out of the music, and this is what gives life, "meaning" to it. And the other thing is the he never gets "too much", is much rather moderate, but still very, very sensitive, and that I like very much. The world's full of "blat".
Good music. What's with the hands??? :p
