Just like Starkiller, TFU had the potential but simply never fully achieved it. When I played the PS2 version, I was amazed and I thought the HD version would blow my mind. Until I realised that nice graphics was the only thing the HD version was superior to the ps2 version.
I can't imagine the PS2 version has much more to offer than the ps3 and pc version. No seriously, on the PS2 you have much more creative and devastating combos than on the pc and ps3. Also, the game length is longer, while on the ps3 and pc you can finish it in about roughly 5 hours. Even though the graphics were ugly on the ps2 it was still more fun than the HD version...
Just got it on Steam because it was on sale. Looks great, though a 30fps cap is perplexing. Overall, it feels kind of sloppy. The port to PC didn't go over well. The combat isn't incredibly satisfying. Moving your character around feels a little clunky. Enemy placement feels very odd at times. Like the review says, the game isn't bad, but I couldn't have imagined paying $60 for this at release.
i think this is one of the best star wars games next to battlefront 2 ,jedi knight academy , jedi otucast , republic commando , battlefront 1 and knights of the old republic 1 and 2 of course
I want a SW game where we can customize how we hold the Lightsaber and how wide it is..how long..colour...customize how the force looks...I just wish there was a really good/long SW with something that lasted...I don't like playing as bounty hunters...And the attacks in Old Republic are not very fun..GF another 1-5 years waiting.

I bought this game over a year ago at a blockbuster that was going out of business and just barely played it two days ago and thought it was awesome! I don't know why I waited so long to play it. Can't wait to beat it and get the second game.
@zenmart The gameplay is good, and the graphics are beautiful, but the story made no sense and the game is so short, I beat it in one sitting. The dlc was honestly more enjoyable (for me) than the entire campaign, I was so excited for Yoda and Boba Fett to be in there, and they're in the game for about a minute all together. I even bought the collector's edition for $80.00, that really got me depressed.
@oldfashionedguy91Thanks for the info... I'll keep it in mind. Perhaps I'll just buy a cheap used version of part 2 rather than buy a new one at full price. That's kind of how I got the first one. I think I payed like 10 bucks at Blockbuster but it came with the box and manual. Hopefully I can get the 2nd one at a similar price. Hey at least the collectors editions go up in value. Hopefully you can sell it at a really great price later on.

@Clone683 yes, it works. I know KOTOR 1 works, as i play this on my Toshiba, which has windows 7, all the time. It's a great game, one of my all time favorites. I'm 98% sure KOTOR 2 works even better than 1 on Windows 7. One thing you should look out for is that certain levels (Taris undercity, Dantooine, and the Kasyyyk shadowlands, etc.) have wierd texture issues and an almost unplayable level of lag. If this doesn't bother you, pick it up for a few bucks at Walmart or on Steam!

He was comparing how well the tech was integrated into GTA versus how it was integrated into Force Unleashed. And THAT is how it is possible to compare this to GTA.
@Chowder7116 im not trying to start an agrument but it compares to GTA because they both have parts made by endorphin, endorphin is an animation program designed to build games it built half of GTA and it built a little bit of TFU when you force gip a storm trooper and you see him flipping around trying to shoot you, just remember endorphin made that. When you fly out a winshield in GTA 4 and the ragdoll is all realistic looking, endorpin did that too.

this ign review was only semi-accurate, a dissapointment, because i have often bought games on the basis that ign gave good reviews, but for this game in particular, i, being a star wars fane, said fuck it and bought the game redardless after i saw the review, only to find that it was easily the best game i've played since Jedi Outcast, and though i was dissapointed with the admittedly semi-repetitive gameplay, this disc managed to stay in my XBOX 360 for a good 2 months.

It really is amazing that they can't just make a solid star wars game, be it an RPG or an action game, what can be so hard. It has one of the best atmosphere's for a game yet they fall on their face every time, the only good ones have been KOTOR and now we are 6yrs past one of those last releases. I just can't understand whats so hard, it feels like the game would write itself, hell take the Lego mechanic and make it look/feel like something more mature.

I like the gameplay because I never played Star Wars with badass force moves before, plus I like this style of gameplay and concept of the character. Some people (like me) wants to play something different so I enjoyed this game on single play.
Only thing I hate is the story (The way they connected it to Darth Vader), and lifespan of the game itself. And the saddest thing is NO MULTIPLAYER. I hope they made one like from Star Wars Jedi Knight.

Hmmmm.... The Force Unleashed was a good game, however I finished it over a year ago, and the story really hasn't stayed with me to well, as for the force unleased 2, I am having fun with it, but I didn't buy it for a fantastic narrative, so I hate to say it, but this series of games really has not other appeal other than the over the top action... I doubt that this time next year I will remember the Force unleashed 2 very well.

I thought this game and its sequel were pretty good, anytime I need a star wars fix I either play these or the KOTOR's. But I'm truly waiting for The Old Republic, wish it was for xbox 360 though :/

It really is amazing that they can't just make a solid star wars game, be it an RPG or an action game, what can be so hard. It has one of the best atmosphere's for a game yet they fall on their face every time, the only good ones have been KOTOR and now we are 6yrs past one of those last releases. I just can't understand whats so hard, it feels like the game would write itself, hell take the Lego mechanic and make it look/feel like something more mature.

A long time ago... in a decade know known as 'the early naughties', a great game was made, its name: Star wars: knights of the old republic. This game was one of a trilogy, the last part of which is yet to be released... however with the impending crap of spin off titles such as 'the force unleashed', the star wars universe was in jeopardy... now there is one last hope, its name: The old republic, its form: MMO- only bethesda can save us now.....

personally i really liked this game
i always saw potential to make the use of force badass and fun, which they never did in any of the movies or previous games
as for the story, i really liked the Secret Apprentice story and i thought it was really interesting. and it was fun to see old characters meet the Apprentice
i kept saying "if this guy was Luke Starwalker, Star Wars would only be one movie" :)
it's not perfect, but it doesn't deserve all the hate that it's getting

Here are my opinions for this game:
I like the gameplay because I never played Star Wars with badass force moves before, plus I like this style of gameplay and concept of the character. Some people (like me) wants to play something different so I enjoyed this game on single play.
Only thing I hate is the story (The way they connected it to Darth Vader), and lifespan of the game itself. And the saddest thing is NO MULTIPLAYER. I hope they made one like from Star Wars Jedi Knight.

Hmmmm.... The Force Unleashed was a good game, however I finished it over a year ago, and the story really hasn't stayed with me to well, as for the force unleased 2, I am having fun with it, but I didn't buy it for a fantastic narrative, so I hate to say it, but this series of games really has not other appeal other than the over the top action... I doubt that this time next year I will remember the Force unleashed 2 very well.
