I hope at least a small part of you knows that getting all the energy back when braking it's phisically impossible...cause that would be called perpetual motion and that, my friends, is far from happening in few years...
Cool design. Cars like this will eventually become rather affordable and will get to absolutely ridiculous levels of performance and speed. Electric motors can ultimately drive vehicles much much faster than internal combustion engines and the technology will become 'cheap' and commonplace in the near future. Get ready for tuners and racers who know electronics, high voltage and high current, instead of boost, cam timing, intake and exhaust!
Those electric cars have totally awesome acceleration! The low-end torque is humungus and they just keep on going up to ridiculously high revs, so they hardly need transmissions/gear-boxes! : )
surely there would be a way to make this electric car sound that way. Just rig up a really trick sound system coupled to a computer controlled sound effect system that takes into account throttle position, the roating mass of a real engine and gearbox, what "gear it would be in at a given speed etc.
Yeah, it could be done. But it would be fake, it would be a sound effect. The sound the real engine makes, and the sounds of the engines that are quickly becoming history will never return. All these electric cars are great, and we need them Im sure, but I hope we never have to stop using good old fashioned V8 engines.

I'll believe it when I see it on the streets.

impressive engineering, sending out electricity when accelerating, then getting it back from using brakes =]

totally! we can all enjoy some extremely, insanely fast electric cars (and trucks for that matter) in the near future.

now if they can only add the soundtrack of the 1955 slr (I dont mean add a gass engine, but do it digitally). . .

That is one thing this car will never have. A monstrous AMG 6.3 engine sound.

me either. I plan on hanging on to my Mg Midget for as long as possible. its a 4 banger but still a very special sound in its own right.
