hi just ne question to ask. does that transfer tape very sticky? when you apply them on vinyl and when you apply on board how did you manage to peel it off easily, is not that very sticky?
i have that kind of Roland but it doesn't work properly.. it cuts two letters normal and then all others below it.. do you have any idea how to fix that..? and what program do you open for print..?
Use some masking tape to hold down the cut vinyl so you can apply your transfer tape more securely. Also, use a bar that can roll under your transfer tape roll so you can apply the tansfer tape evenly as well. Th transfer tape will go toward the back, around the bar and out tward your project. Pull out enough to cover the design, take your thumbs to "pin" down the transfer tape to the table take your squeegee and apply the taps to your graphic.
LOL at the sound!, so thats what they used in the old alien films :D I would love to run one of them late at night mand use a blow up alien with helium and make it float through someones bedroom door
I had probes and tweezers. Thanks for the tip but I prefered using my fingers. Fingers are "non-destructive". I poked a hole in the wrong vinyl once. I prefer picking it with my fingers, it just felt right.
Nope, I'm out of the sticker game. It was great, I enjoyed it. Fun and profitable too. It would have been more of both if I was more creative and could create something unique...
Someone paid me cash for that sh#t... How awesome is that!!! and it's still on their car 4 years later. I got paid and they're happy displaying their kids name on a motorcycle sticker pasted on the back of their car. Awesome!
Nice video to learn how to work on your own...and holmes1111 you need to use a water mixed with little shampoo or tide(which we use for washing clothes) and it will not make the bubbles take place..gud video
Nice vid....pinpoint tweezers may make your weeding easier! Where do you find your graphics??? (if you don't mind me asking) What did you put on the surface before you applied the sticker? I would have more bubbles than brains if I did it that quick...was it just water?
Thanks... I decided one night to make a vid on YouTube. I didn't do much prep work. I tried to get it all done in one afternoon. I never had much luck with tweezers. I prefer a razor knife. Poke-n-peel... I didn't prep any surface. That was the bedroom door. I lightly press first then work the bubbles out..
I got tons of negative comments on my style, but the main focus of this vid was to show how easy it can be. After you get to this stage, then you make improvements.
This cutter came with Dr. Stika software. It also came with a plug-in for Adobe Illustrator. I used MS-Paint to edit the bitmap before uploading into the Dr. Stika software. Once it's uploaded into the Dr. Stika software there was more touching-up to do on the edges and corners.
I no longer own this cutter. Buy a cutter on eBay, use it, then sell it when your done with it... They keep their value, so you only spend money on the consumables like vinyl.
tHANKS FOR THIS SHOW. I would like to make some wall stickers. large ones in an OEM basis. how do you think they can charge me for 100 per sets? thanks
Yes! That's why I bought mine! Pay for 20 stickers from a "professional" or cut your own, for the same coin. Sir, I salute you! The pros will eat cake. (meaning, "rake affluent businesses over the coals because they call themselves great")
Thanks, The pros do great work and they charge whatever someone is willing to pay. I'm just not willing to pay it, I'd rather give it a go myself. Can do!
dear abateman5757, when i called you a dick i had only read your first comment, i neglected to view your others. after reading all of them i must retract my statement. in actuality you are a "stupid" dick. cheers from Tony Scottalotta
thanks for this video! a few weeks ago i went to my local sign shop in des moines, ia and i asked them for a quote on 25 plastic signs, 3X1 with 3 lines of text they quoted me a price of $860! so i started looking into making my own signs and on ebay i discovered the term "plotter cutter" and since then have been looking for a simple video to show how it works, you made it and i appreciate it.
I am still trying to figure out which cutter is right for me, i have never used one.
Cool video. If your interested in sign and screen printing come check out our videos and see all the information we have and products we offer. We're constantly adding new videos with new videos about vinyl plotters, sublimation and screen printing packages coming up within the next few days!
As a professional signmaker in one of Canada's top ten sign companies... this... is NOT what sign making is about in any way, shape, or form. This is exactly why we do not recommend in-home shops as they're sloppy and unprofessional. I really hope this isn't your day job.
Who said anything about being a sign maker? Am I not allowed to make a simple vinyl decal?
I sold that decal to my neighbor for $5. All his friends' love it and they want me to make more for $5/each. Most "professional sign makers" would charge double for that, and they would want a minimum order.
This is why I don't recommend, "Professional sign makers", they think their shit don't stink and they charge too much.
It seems to be a trend of only snotty people posting comments.
$5 is more than what we charge for our "friends and family" services. You see, that's the misconception people have: you don't NEED a minimum order. Because it is cut vinyl, we can make you one or one thousand. We bill on the time, not the area of vinyl it takes, as sign makers can buy vinyl from large companies for $50 a roll (50 yards, 24inch).
Most businesses have this type of thing, which is usually $1.50ish for small things. Just as most shops - not just sign shops, mind you - have a PITA factor.
Our prices always include the art. We do most of our art. :) Ha ha ha, we're so snotty we have beers with the guys next door on Friday. I can see that if I'm "snotty" I offend you, and if I'm not "snotty" I offend you, so there's no point even trying to talk to you.
wheres a good place to get vinyl sticker paper. gloss just like that. i need your help... hook it up with some good websites could you... i would screenprint onto it
hey abateman5757, I suppose if i put a video of me fishing on here you will be pissed because i am not a professional fisherman. jeeze your a real dick.
Wow.. such vile comments. The computer doesn't see it that way. I was pointing out that the setup for the Plotter/cutter is just like any printer. There is little to no setup involed.
Whats the program?

How much was the machine? And would those decals go on glass like a vehicle ? Cause I need to make some ;)

Hey man, if you still have this, would you be interested in selling it? If not could you tell me where you got it?

How could I easily make a simple sticker/decal though?
Like, I would like to make a small shaped decal, from vinyl or something.
And I wouldn't mind if it was just like this matte black electrical tape you know.
But it needs to be bigger than that of course, so what should I buy and do with it?

Oh, I bought this cutter for the sole purpose of not having to go to someone and ask a price. I'm not sure what they will charge.
If they charge too much, my advice will be to buy your own cutter and make your own. When your done, sell your cutter.
Good luck and thanks.

Wow, one of Canada's top ten sign companies has a secret "friends and family" price...
Sounds like something a "professional" sign company would do.
I spent some time editing that bitmap so it would cut better. I didn't charge my customers for my time...
It doesn't suprise me no one will go to those snotty "profession" signmakers no matter what they charge.
Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby are selling a vinyl cutter for $197. Bye-Bye professional signmakers....

enterjakarta 5 years ago
I see we're both of the pathetic breed of interbutt dweller who cannot live without having the last word. We are sad creatures, hm?
Having beers with the guys next door really negates this rather odd obsession with professional sign shops being snobs, son.
It is not $1.50 a sign, we were discussing decals, as far as I recal. If you are referring to a coroplast sign, that ranges from $20 to $60. :)
abateman5757 5 years ago
Cheers to ya, eh?
Enjoyed the back and forth.
Next time I'm in Canada, I'll stop by next door for a beer. Maybe will get $1.50 off...

Here to being a bunch of pathetic interbutt dwellers...
