One thing this video doesn't explain is how they got the lease for the space. Renting a space for a small business usually requires at least a five yr lease... in the US anyway.

How exactly is this different from leaving one's automobile at a garage to be repaired? The victims didn't really do anything wrong here. Life has risks, that's all. The people running the shop looked trustworthy, and in some sense they were (since they were not actual thieves) which probably helped ensure that none of the victims got spooked. So in that sense, this wasn't really very realistic; it was more a practical joke than an actual simulated crime.
The girl at the end of this video gives the most retarded advice ever: "make sure your receipt has *full* contact details..."
If the store itself is fake, with banners and everything, the scammers can surely print out receipts with fake details as well. That really won't help you.
The girl's very pretty, but that advice is totally useless.
how funny would it be if these guys got robbed by a real criminal while filming this thing.

This is the stupidest thing ever, a quick investigation. 1. call the owner of the place, they even have a "for rent" sign,
2.ask who rented the shop
3 contact them.
(if anyone doesn't cooperate, call the cops.)
